All the Doc Ford restaurants (3) have excellent food (fantastic chefs), wonderful, friendly service, but different atmospheres. This one, near the wonderful beach, should be restful and lovely, but instead has young children running everywhere no matter what time of day or night. The staff seats young children at a table near their parents, but not with their parents and this policy makes the experience for other diners a bit challenging. So, while this one is large and beautiful, with a nice outside patio and great food and service, I prefer the original Doc Fords.

We have not eaten at all the restaurants on Captiva yet, but have had several mediocre meals. Ate at Doc Ford's Captiva restaurant with a party of seven and by all reports everyone enjoyed their dinners and rated the food as very good. I was the only one with a non fish dinner, a waiter-recommended ribeye steak. It was a sizable portion and had an nice caramelized onion reduction sauce and was very good. We sat outside which was enjoyable but got noisy with a rowdy group a few tables over.

Stopped in for lunch with group of 11 without reservations. We were seated immediately outside & had a very friendly, attentive waitress. She knew the items on the menu & was able to answer any & all questions. Drinks were frosty, generous & hit the spot, as did the food. Larger portions that satisfied all with reasonable prices. All in all an awesome lunch with good friends in a nice atmosphere. One suggestion would be to have a handicapped accessible ramp closer to the parking as one in our group was dealing with an issue walking at the time.
Went back another afternoon with a larger group for an impromptu "pub crawl" and we were treated exceptionally by the bar staff. Excellent bar with fast, courteous service with a smile!

I ate here 3 times in 14 days. By far the best dining experience on Captiva. This new restaurant has a huge deck plus a large area inside too. They have a delicious drink menu and of course, their famous shrimp ordered by the pound. Good service but they need additional runners to get more silverware, napkins, plates, etc. One really annoying thing, despite our check being over $300, I was charged an extra $1.50 for additional bread to dunk in the shrimp sauce. The large bar area has many TVs and some separate tables. Many people eat in the bar area and was full of people attending a business conference at South Seas. Don't drive to Sanibel when you can have a great evening here and buy all of Randy Wayne White's books too.

Great restaurant/bar with awesome mojitos that are appropriately priced! The pineapple was my favorite. We went twice and sat at the bar and bartenders were super attentive and nice both times. Would go back next trip.
