This restaurant is located in a small strip mall on US 1. It opened just a few month ago and is not very busy. It serves a simple, family style, traditional peruvian food, which means not extremely sophisticated , heavy sauces, good taste, filling, and overall a good place for a different food experience.
We had a combo appetizer which included papa a la huancaina (potatoes with a heavy yellow sauce), which was OK but could have been more tasty; Choritos a la chalaca (an excellent ceviche-type mussel); and Antichochos , an undescript res meat brochette, a little tough but with an excellent hot sauce.
I then had the mahi mahi a la macho, served with an excellent (but heavy) sauce full of shrimps and calamares, while my wife had Trigoto a la popa con camarones, a risotto type wheat with shrimps. Not particularly tasty; a real risotto is much better.
They brought us a complimentary Pisco sour, fantastic drink. I will try it at home
For $80, including two beers and tips, this was an excellent value
