“Small laid back fun. Locals little secret”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

Visited on a Friday. Bunch of locals with gathered around a Bon Fire with an awesome atmosphere. Tried the fish tacos and smoke fish that was delicious. they had 5 people working the line. Chef was walking around talking to people getting feedback seems they have made some upgrades in staff. This is place is catering to the locals. No AC but good beer specials and good times

“did not get to taste the food.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

There was one person working there, taking money and preparing food.
Did not wear gloves while preparing food.
Did not wash hands between taking the payment, and preparing our food.
Handled my lobster patty and my partner's hot dog weiner with ungloved fingers, not tongs.
Handled the lettuce & tomato that accompanied my lobster patty with ungloved fingers, not tongs.
Same handling technique with the buns. Used un-gloved fingers (not tongs) to position lobster patty onto bun.
Hamburger flipper to pick up lobster patty was some one used to handle un-cooked patty.
(Lucky for us, so that we could make an informed choice), all in plain site of customers.
We tasted the potato chips, which were prepackaged. Not about to sample any of that food prepared in such manner. We politely took it with us and threw it in the first garbage can that we could find once we were off the property.

“Peaceful place for fish tacos”

We were at Oleta park and had a few brewskies and fish tacos are the Blue Marlin. Very quiet place close by nature. Really pleasant. Food was good. Beer cold. Just very pleasant.

“Not Up to the Hype”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2013

We stopped here for lunch thanks to the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives appearance. We liked the casual feel, the location is nice and the service was friendly, but we found the food average at best. The smoked fish was tough (no flakiness inside like Guy Fieri advertised) and we needed the sauce served with it to get it down. Ordinarily we pass on sauces so they don't overwhelm the fish. We enjoyed the smoked fish dip better than the sandwich but the crackers they serve with it can overpower the dip. We would have preferred a fried fish sandwich but did not see it on the menu.

“Lunch on the water”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2013 via mobile

Great! My wife found the Blue Marlin Fish House and suggested we try it. The smoked fish dip was excellent and the fish sandwiches are a must try. There was only one person in the kitchen taking orders and preparing the food, but the service was still good. Sitting outside in the Florida summer under ceiling fans was part of the experience. I like to eat at unique local spots when I travel. I highly recommend the Blue Marlin as part of experiencing the South Florida culture.
