I have been coming to and loving Blue Springs State Park for many years and I have always been impressed with it's natural beauty. The park is still beautiful but is starting to look run down. The bathrooms were filthy and in disrepair and the boardwalk to the swimming area had trash on it. The Historic Thursby House is in need of some maintenance. Many of the shutters were hanging by an thread and paint is peeling inside and out. It's sad that such a beautiful historic area is not being maintained properly.

this was our second visit to the park. we were visiting the area from new york. we arrived this past monday in the early afternoon. while entering to pay with one car ahead of us one of the park ranger/employees put up a barricade blocking the entrance. after the car ahead of us discussed their refused entry it was our turn. the woman who we encountered was so rude and dismissive when i questioned what was happening. i have never encountered at any state or national park anyone who treated a visitor the way she did. we were told to leave the park and turn the car around if we wanted entry at some point in the day. i wish i knew her name so i could formally report this grievance. for the record she was equally rude to the folks in the car ahead of us who i spoke to after we were told to leave. this is a beautiful park and we enjoyed visiting (which was noted in our previous review after our first visit) and we were extremely dissapointed to not only be turned away becuase it was apparantly full but treated like dirt by this employee. i would encourage people to visit the park but pay attention to this nasty person if you happen to encounter her. i hope that one of the supervisors there reads this review and looks into this. we did make one further attempt to enter a few minutes later and encountered another female employee/ranger who could not have been nicer although we ultimately still had to turn around and this this time chose to leave. very bad kharma!!!!!

first time family tubing. We liked the big open spaces and lots of parking. There's a river cruise, we didn't reserve in time but there's a historic house to admire for free.

Just a short drive from Orlando or Daytona Beach on I-4 is this breathtaking natural wonder. I recommend renting a tube and floating down the spring run. The current takes you and the peacefulness is unrivaled. But be sure to go early because this place gets very crowded in the summer. We arrived when they opened at 8 AM and by 10 AM they had stopped admitting cars and were making them wait until others left. Also be prepared that the water is cold but you get used to it quickly. Additionally, the water is too deep to stand in so it's be sure to bring something to keep you afloat so you can enjoy the relaxing environment. The house on the grounds is nice but I wish it was furnished with period décor. We did not go canoeing our kayaking but that looked like a good option as well. A good spot for a picnic as well especially as many tables provide shade but visitors claim tables very quickly so set up early.

Loved the walk with the history of the Home. Loved the area history of the area. Fell in love with the beauty and history. It's a must see if you go to Central Florida.
