“Great Hotel”
Reviewed 15 June 2012

This was a great hotel for our first trip to Orlando, rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff are friendly and it's only 3 minutes to Universal. The only minor complaint is that the desk staff appear to double up as phone operators, them answering the phone in the middle of dealing with you is a little strange.

Exellent place to stay! The entire staff was helpful, knowledgable of the local area, and friendly. Every person working the front desk spoke to you no matter what time you walked in the front door! Josh (who was new) was most friendly and helpful. We were just off a weeks cruise, the service here made us feel like we were still on the ship. I come to Olraldo every year for work and my family comes to play. I have already made reservations for next year. Close to all attractions (walk to Wet N Wild), and International Ave. It has easy to get in and out by car, bus or taxi. Great pool with a snack bar at the pool with drinks. Breakfast was nicely done also. Will stay here every year. Johnny from Tennessee.

Room Tip: We got a one bedroom suite. Perfect for four.

We visited, as most people do, to do the theme parks in Orlando and the surrounding area and the hotel was a great base for this. Its located towards the north end of International Drive and is on the street behind it so there is a lot less traffic running passed it. It is extremely close to Universal with it only taking 5 minutes at the most to be driving into the car parks. Disney is further away, maybe about 15/20 mins on the freeway.

The room itself was very large with a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. The bed was great size and very comfy. As for the bathroom it was also a great size and had a walk in shower as well as a Whirlpool bath tub. The kitchen had everything you needed if you didn't fancy eating out, or even for breakfast cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer. It also had plenty of dishes and glasses.

The hotel was immaculate even though there was a new breakfast bar being fitted in the ground floor. As for noise, we were on the 2nd floor and hardly heard a peep from anything.

The staff were also very helpful with any queries we had and were very welcoming.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Orlando!

Lovely hotel, clean, modern, quiet and good location, about 15-20 min walk to international drive, a little far from some things but cant complain about anything. We had a room with 2 double beds, one was a pull out but comfortable, a/c, fan, tv, microwave and fridge. There was a nice pool, very small gym, no nightlife close by have to go to international drive.

Excellence hotel. Location is great. Good customer service. We have stayed at The Point 7-8 times and never had a problem. The daily resort fee is high, but you know this in advance. We continue to book at The Point when we are in Orlando.

Room Tip: We always request the pool view.

I stayed here in a studio apartment with my sister and daughter. The first thing we noticed was the customer service - fabulous. The second thing was how clean everything was. The fully equipped kitchen had spotless cupboards and fridge. All the crockery and cutlery was clean and matching, something that we find is a rarity these days. I really like the pod style coffee maker because I could use it to make tea as well as coffee.

I have two small complaints about the room - 1 was that it was all carpeted which meant I had to put towels under my 2yr old daughter's chair when she was eating so as not to ruin the carpet and 2 - there is no wi-fi in the room, only in the lobby. It was funny watching everyone in the lobby on their iPads.

We ate at the bar and grill one night and found it very reasonable. Very simple but a great option if you are too tired to go out or cook after a busy day. If you are after a cocktail, then this is the place to be. Great range and not too expensive.

The location of this resort is walking distance to Wet and Wild and Universal Studios. Nearby are lots of great dining options. Logan Roadhouse has great specials on Monday to Thursday and we enjoyed TGI Fridays. It is really easy to get on the Freeeway to Disney World or the airport from the hotel.

This place was great value for money - about a third the price of a Disney resort and just as good. Just remember to include the $11 a day resort fee into your budget.

I would not hesitate to stay here again. Great place.

Very pleasant staff and a really excellent room which was very well-equipped and was spotlessly clean. I was aware of the wifi restriction (reception/pool only) before we travelled so that was not a surprise or a problem. I guess our only 'niggle' was the title "Resort" - which in our view it isn't. It's a very good hotel which we'd certainly re-visit but "Resort" is stretching a point.
