My family and I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day at Disney. We did'nt want to stay on the resort so we searched many hotels in the area. Staybridge offered the right price, ammenities and location. Everything was great from check-in to check-out. The rooms were renovated and very very nice. TVs in each room with the suite;Soft comfortable beds;full kitchen;safe in room;and two bathrooms for the suite. It was only minutes away from Disney. There were a large number of restaraunts in the immeadiate area. We were surprised to find an outlet mall only 5 minutes away. The free breakfast was excellent! We loved it and will stay again.

We recently stayed at this hotel from Dec 27 through Jan 1st. This is the busiest time at Disney World, but you wouldn't have known it at the hotel. The suites were perfect for our group - we had 6 adults and 3 children with us. We rented one of the one-bedroom suites and one of the 2-bedroom suites and were able to get the rooms right next to each other. The rooms were clean and the refrigerator and freezer were so great to have since we brought in water and snacks and used the ice maker for our cooler to take to Disney each day. When the weather was warm enough we came back from the parks earlier and the kids had a wonderful time in the pool, and we were usually just one of a few other guests in the pool. There is a ton of space to just relax with family and friends by the pool, outside of the breakfast area and in the living room areas of the suites. We were so comfortable there! There are a ton of nearby restaurants too, so if you don't feel like the expense or crowds of the Disney parks, there are a ton of options within walking distance. There is also a Walgreens directly across the street that is open 24 hours which was very convenient. Even on the busiest of days we could get to the Disney parks within 15 - 20 minutes. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone. The staff was extremely friendly. One day we returned when the staff were cleaning our room and she was so nice and friendly to my young children and didn't mind that we interrupted. The continental breakfast had a great variety of food and plenty of space for our whole family to sit and eat, and the coffee was wonderful as well. I can't wait to come back and stay here again.

We booked a 2 brdm, 2 bath suite for an overnight stay. I walked in fully surprised to see a full size frig, dishwasher, and stove. They even thought to provide laundry baskets for their on premise DIY laundry mat. The place was very clean, nicely updated, my only eww, was seeing the box spring looked like it had been picked up off the street. The mattress looked new and was comfortable. I would stay here again!

I was nervous to stay off-Disney for the first time when we recently vacationed with my parents and our young children. I feel like we've been spoiled by all the bonuses and easy Disney transportation, but traveling with a large family and small children meant that we had a budget and also that we needed more space (sharing one hotel room with two small children is misery). With the exception of the shuttle service, I felt that Staybridge more than met our needs and really is a fabulous hotel.

One of my favorite things about the hotel was the customer service. The staff was extremely responsive to any wants or needs and it was obvious that the hotel cares very much for the customer's experience. The entire property was extremely clean all of the time-- lobbies, breakfast areas, pool areas, outside space. The housekeeping was wonderful and even though the card in the room said they don't necessarily "clean" every single day (it said they do a deep clean every three days for those staying for longer stays like us at 5 days), they really did clean every single day and our condo was spotless every time we came back.

The free continental breakfast was impressive. During our time there, it almost always included the following: scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, peaches, oatmeal, freshly made pancakes, Belgian waffles you could make, pastries, muffins, toast, bread, fresh premium coffee, all types of milks, and multiple types of juices. In addition, the hotel had an evening snack on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays which included unlimited access to beers on tap, fountain sodas, and a small meal. The first night we were there, they served soups. The next night we ate there, they had hot dogs with fixings and salad. Many people seemed to use this as their dinner, as we did after a long day in the parks, and the hotel did not seem to mind and was very accommodating. With how often the dining areas are open and in use, they are extremely clean and there are never dishes laying out.

The rooms themselves are very spacious and nice. We had a huge fridge, a small dishwasher, and plenty of room to move around. The decor is very impressive and modern. It is also upscale-- the bathrooms are custom-tiled and the countertops are granite. The furniture was in great shape and the beds were very soft with wonderful linens. The rooms do open up to the outside but we never had a problem with that as they are fairly spaced apart and the property is somewhat isolated in that you wouldn't have random people wandering through the property, given where it is located. The property is within walking distance of many necessities-- a Walgreens, a Winn-Dixie grocery store, and many restaurants. We walked to the Sizzler one night for dinner. Giordano's pizza, which is excellent, is just across the street, not even five minutes away. They also deliver quickly and the hotel has coupons if you ask at the front desk.

The pool area was excellent for our kids. It included a nice warm kiddie pool (1 foot deep), a heated full-size pool, and a whirlpool (not overly hot, but this is Florida so I imagine there's not a big rush to jump in a whirlpool during non-winter months). The pool area is gated and very nice. Right outside the pool area is an arcade, a large laundry area, and a fitness area, along with a lot of outdoor seating and tables.

The front desk was very accommodating and there is a ticket area right across from it that sells tickets to all the parks and offers local concierge services. They were very knowledgeable about the area.

The one downside to this property is for people who do not bring or rent a car because you'll have to take the shuttle service, and the shuttle service wasn't great. Part of our issue is that we went at Christmas, which is such a crazy busy time at Disney. The shuttles don't run very often. There is one morning shuttle to each park and for most parks, it's at 7:50 (although Epcot is 9:something, although it's easy to get from Magic Kingdom to Epcot via monorail so you don't need to wait until 9). However, it usually goes to the Sheraton first, and in our case, it was often packed already when it arrived. In some cases, it went to the Sheraton, filled up, and was unable to come to our resort at all and instead they called for a second shuttle to come to us, but that delayed our pickup time by at least 20 minutes, if not more. That is a long time wait outside with impatient kids. The afternoon shuttles came at odd times-- usually around 4-5, again around 7, and again around 10. However, same situation. Multiple hotels shared the same shuttle, so there were more people than could fit in the shuttle. And when the shuttle pulled up, people pretty much stampeded the shuttle and often it was too full to take everyone back, which meant the shuttle had to leave people behind. It was just very hectic and stressful not knowing each day what time you'd be leaving the park and what time you'd be coming back, especially with kids. On the day we were supposed to go to Animal Kingdom on the 7:50am shuttle, it stopped at Magic Kingdom and the driver told us he was running so far behind, he couldn't take us to Animal Kingdom and would have to drop us all off at MK instead. So we had to find a way to get there from MK. Some people took taxis but the rest of us waited for the Disney park-to-park transportation. It was the one thing that was very frustrating about this hotel and I wish that at the busy times, they'd arrange for either their own shuttle service or multiple shuttles to come. It was so hard with children who just couldn't understand what we were waiting for and my five-year-old got really upset when she worried that we wouldn't fit on a shuttle or that it would leave without us. I also felt bad for the shuttle drivers, who seemed overwhelmed.

Overall, I would absolutely stay at this hotel again IF I had rented a car or had my own car. I would not rely on the shuttles with small kids. The customer service was superb, the property was updated, clean, and clearly well-taken care of, and it was very family-friendly.

We have stayed here many times over the years and I have seen the improvements...staff is mostly long term and very good (didn't have the cleaning issues with other hotels in the area). The pool has been refinished and my son commented that this was the cleanest pool at a hotel- he is picky and won't use some hotel pools. Water is also nicely warmed even at the 'coldest' of Florida winter and great to enjoy! Note- there was a cold rain and still the pool was nice and warm and we were swimming in the rain! Most pools cool dramatically in the rain an de have even found some pools on the cool side in July and August.

The two bedroom room has plenty of space for a family and the kitchen is perfect for eating home made meals even when away from home.

Room was nice and clean and we liked the new furniture and kitchen from our last stay. We stayed for a week this visit and plan to return. Excellent value and perfect location for the parks!

Room Tip: No elevator so lower room if you pack heavy, upper rooms get more sunlight.

Mold and extremely hard beds were not enough to counter the fact that the heated pool was great, the breakfast was nice, cleaning service was very friendly (thank-you Illyana ?) and we got an occasional free USA Today newspaper out side our door.

Also, the front desk was great about changing my room from the third floor to the first when they saw that I had to walk with a cane. There are no elevators and the third floor has many steps.

The mold in the bedroom made me sick the whole six day vacation. Couldn't breath at night. Between that and the hard beds, we went on little to no sleep and I guess we are just too old for that. Another plus was that we ended up being able to park almost directly in front of our room.

THIS was simply our experience. It appears that many people love Staybridge and I'm sure most people have much better experiences than we did. But, this was our first vacation in years and I'm starting to think this is what it's like in most places. We'll be staying home and enjoying South Florida and the west coast of Florida.

Recommendation would be to have a few softer mattresses on hand for people who cannot handle the hard beds. We had brought three foam toppers and put the sofa bed mattress, along with those, on the queen bed, which was too small for people who don't sleep in the same bed. Also recommend a thorough cleaning of the air ducts where the mold was so bad that even after they sent someone to clean them, the odor and my allergic reaction stayed the whole time. Took a few days to get over the vacation. heh

We feel that Staybridge Suites can be a pleasant place to stay if they can fix these problems. We did like many things about SS, but the bad things were too overwhelming.

Room Tip: No elevators, 3 floors, bring a wheelchair or proof of being handicapped unless you like climbing st...

Thank you for staying with us during your recent visit to Orlando. We take all our comments very seriously and we appreciate your time in writing to us.

First, thank you for your positive reviews regarding our heated pool, breakfast, and housekeeping services. We do take pride in our amenities and we are pleased that you enjoyed the little extras that we offer. I was also glad that we were able to accommodate your needs to be on the first floor. We realize that this is very important to our guests that are unable to use the stairs.

I would sincerely like to apologize for the experience you had in your suite with the beds. Our Sealy Mattresses are still quite new (less than a year old), and we realize that comfort levels are very different among each guest. This mattress is a standard for the brand and we are sorry that they were not to your expectations. Finally, thank you for making me aware of the bedroom issues and the allergic reaction after the ducts were cleaned. We are inspecting this issue and will continue to clean the suite ducts on our regular maintenance schedule and make it a high priority for our engineering department.

Again, thank you for your suggestions and comments and we hope to see you again in the future. If you have any further concerns, please contact me at the hotel directly.
