“VERY HAPPY GREAT PLACE TO STAY”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2009

We just got back from a week long stay at the boardwalk inn,, we had garden suite room near the quiet pool...room 1215. .I was abit nervous after reading some reviews about non working air conditioners, bad service, out of date rooms.... I am happy to report that I was nervous for nothing!! :) The room we had was recently updated.( looked brand new)The bedding was wonderful(3 choices of different firmness of pillows on the king bed upstairs loft)the downstairs (AKA livingroom)had a sectional that pulled out to a queen size bed.One of my teenage daughters slept on the bed,one on the side of the sectional.( 3 people could sleep on it) . we had our own white picket fence with a gate .The service was FANTASTIC! We had the" innkeepers club" which we used for breakfast and snacks throughout the day/night .Sodas, coffe, water, cookies, gummy bears, fruit,pb and j ,... evening had liquor, shrimp, steak ,potatoes..... cereal in the morning w/ fruits, juices ,bagels,croissiants,..... the staff was wonderful! You can even ask for Evian botteled water to bring back to your room ( 8,00 a bottle)which you will need for summer time. The quiet pool is open 24/7 ,We never did use the 'Clown" pool... we didnt want all the noise that the front pool had.For transportation--- boat to Hollywood studios and epcot. You can walk there also from the hotel.15 min walk to epcot,25 min walk to hollywood. Other than that we used the bus.Yes ,the busses can be crowded at times,BUT there isnt much of a wait if you want to wait and catch the next bus.We ENJOYED our stay and cant say enough!!

The resort itself is lovely. The location on the boardwalk added many activities for the evening that were close to home. Boardwalk Bakery is a must for families using the DDP. Transportation to and from Epcot (walk, ferry) and Hollywood Studios (ferry, walk) was by far the best anywhere. Bus transportation, however , was horrible! Given the price of the Boardwalk, one might think that getting those visitors to and from the themeparks where more money can be spent would be a Disney priority, but travel to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom was downright maddening. As mentioned by another reviewer, waits for busses are sometimes in excess of one hour, the busses are packed to dangerous capacity AND the BWI, BC, Swan, Dolphin and YC all share one bus line. Again, totally ridiculous given the room price.

We have just returned from our trip to Disney and loved the Boardwalk. The beds were the most comfortable of any hotel I have stayed in anywhere (disney or not). The rooms were very clean and staff made sure it stayed that way the entire week. Plenty of towels. Our room faced the courtyard so we did not get a view of fireworks in the evening (But isn't that why you go to the parks??) The desk staff were also very helpful especially when I ran out of prescription eye drops for my son. They put me in contact with the local drug store and by evening we had the new drops. As other reviewers have stated, very close to Epcot. You are at World Showcase within 5 minutes. And a 20 minute walk to Hollywood Studios. There is also a boat to Hollywood Studios and if we would miss the boat from the hotel we would walk to Swan and Dolphin and pick it up from there. We also used that trick when we would return from the Studios. We would get off at S and D and walk back. It saved about 10-15 min because the boat would head to Yacht and Beach club and then Boardwalk. Of course it rained everyday and if you would come back to the hotel during the storm there would be a cute old fashioned suitcase at the doorway with towels rolled up for you to dry off. It's the little things....

My friend and I stayed at Disney's Boardwalk Inn for two nights in June. We first started our trip at an All Star resort, and decided to splurge the last two nights at the Boardwalk. Let me tell you, it was worth every penny! We knew it was going to be a step up from the All Stars, but we didn't realize it was going to be a giant leap.

Our room was fantastic! The room was spacious, with plenty of amenities. We had a large balcony overlooking the boardwalk. The beds were incredibly comfortable. I felt like I just sunk into them and never wanted to get out. We could watch both the Epcot and the Magic Kingdom fireworks shows from our balcony! We ordered breakfast room service one morning and were satisfied with the food and service.

The actual boardwalk portion connected to the hotel is also a lot of fun. There were street performers doing magic shows, plenty of shopping, an art gallery, and my personal favorite, Jellyrolls dueling piano bar!

There are boat systems that will take resort guests to Hollywood Studios and Epcot every 15 minutes, while the other parks guests ride the bus transportation. I liked how The Boardwalk and The Yaht & Beach Club were right next to each other. We went and swam over at the Beach Club pool one afternoon.

I really recommend staying at this hotel. I know it's pricey, but I found it completely worth it.

We just came back from Disney World, Boardwalk was a very nice hotel. The 2 problems that we had was that unlike some of the places we stayed in the past (Coronado Springs) there were only restaurants to eat at and no food courts. That can mean trouble when you have picky eaters and most of the resort restaurants were booked with reservations only. After waiting 45 minutes on the telephone just to talk to a dinner reservationist, it can get quite maddening, and still not end up with any reservations.

The biggest problem we had was bus travel from this hotel. Everytime we used the bus for transportation we had to stop at 3 other Disney hotels (Beach Club, The Swan and Dolphin). We could not understand why Disney is making some of there most expensive resorts share busing. Many times we had to stand during our trips or have someone standing directly in front of us when the temperature outside was 99 it doesn't leave you very happy.

The Boardwalk was a nice quiet hotel with an excellent staff.

We stayed for a week, June 11th thru June 18th. Our room was on the lobby level, close to the Belle Vue Room Lounge which made coffee and soda refills convenient. The hotel is beautiful and well run with the exception of the parking situation. Now I know that the hotel has valet service and that may be fine for some, however, I believe that when you pay the high price for a deluxe room, you should be guaranteed a parking space. We would come home from The Magic Kingdom to find the parking lots full with Boardwalk visitors not staying at the hotel. After approximately a 30 minute parking lot trolling session, I relented and dropped off the family at the front doors and resumed searching for a space. Eventually, I found one by the guard house check in which resulted in a long, weary, angry walk back to the room. If the hotel has 400 rooms, then there should be 400 room key spaces reserved for paying guests. The pool is wonderful but there are "Squatters" galore. Since Disney doesn't check resort I.D. at the pool, there are a lot of swimmers who aren't staying at the hotel. Makes me wonder why we paid so much for things others got for free. Overall, the hotel itself is great but they need to tweak some things to make it right.

My family of four had a wonderful week-long stay at the Boardwalk Inn. We stayed at the Polynesian previously, but we wanted the Epcot area this time. The location is incredible--a pleasant walk to Epcot or a short boat ride. We also walked to the Disney Studios. The bus to the Animal Kingdom does take a long time.

The early 20th century theme is charming, and the grounds are beautiful. The hotel reminds me of the Grand Floridian on a smaller, less formal scale. We were fortunate enough to have a deluxe club level room that overlooked the Boardwalk. The kids loved to sit on the balcony and watch the street performers below. The newly refurbished room was huge, with two armoires with flat-screen TVs, two comfortable queen beds, and a double sofa sleeper. The bathroom is small, but the sinks are conveniently located outside the toilet/shower room--easier for a family getting ready in the morning.

The club level offered a good continental breakfast and snacks like popcorn and goldfish crackers throughout the day. There were different offerings--chili, dips, chicken and beef skewers, a pasta dish--each evening, along with wine and beer. They also had PB & J for the kids. Desserts, including wonderful cookies, were offered after 8 p.m. We came home one evening to find a basket of cookies and a carafe of milk in our mini-fridge! I loved being able to take bottles of Evian and cans of pop back to the room.

The outstanding customer service is what makes the hotel. All cast members we encountered were friendly and helpful, but the club level folks went above and beyond. Pete truly saved our trip. Our young daughter became ill with strep throat (coming down with a high fever and cough at the height of the swine flu scare), and concierge arranged for free transportation to urgent care. Pete even replaced--as a surprise--a stuffed animal from AK that she left on the van. She needed to remain in the room for several days, and room service and housekeeping were very helpful. Room service even brought coloring pages and crayons up with her meal. Pete helped us cancel restaurant reservations, reschedule others for one parent and my son, and offered stickers and "tattoos" to cheer my daughter up. When my she was better, Pete re-booked her much-anticipated Princess Lunch at the restaurant in Norway (a tough reservation to obtain.)

Despite my extensive planning beforehand, we would have been adrift without these wonderful people's help. This is the kind of customer service you need when something goes wrong.
