“Very Nice Resort”
Reviewed 2 September 2014

This was our first time on a Disney property and we were very pleased with the Beach Club resort. The staff was excellent and always looking to make suggestions for dinner reservations and to enhance our stay. The pool was excellent but crowded during the day. We were pleasantly surprised with the restaurants at both the Beach Club and Yacht Club. Short walk to Epcot Center but the bus transportation to the Magic Kingdom or Downtown Disney was very slow. Overall we had a great time!

While this resort is very spread out, making it difficult to get around(especially after all the walking we already did at parks!!), the pool area is worth the hike. By far the best I've seen at Disney.
After almost a week, we could finally remember the way back to our room and to the general store, etc. confusing layout but grounds very well kept and pretty.
Don't miss cape May cafe either. One of our favorite Disney restaurants.

My husband and I recently stayed four nights at the Boardwalk Inn and one night at the Beach Club, as the Boardwalk Inn only had availability for four of the five nights of our vacation. We asked for a king bed upon check in, and were happy to find that we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite to accommodate that request. This upgrade came with club level access, which was very nice. Having stayed on the club level at many different properties I found this one to be just as nice as many high end resorts. The foods served were quite good, and the selection was certainly adequate. There was not enough seating in the club lounge, but this is most likely due to the renovations going on, and the fact that the club lounge has a temporary home in a large suite. Our room was just ok. It was very dated and the furnishings have taken a beating. The furniture was in very bad shape and needed to be thrown out. The walls and carpet were equally imperfect. It was a great location, though. The room was close to the lobby, a corner suite, but unlike many rooms close to the lobby, this one was very private. I was very pleased with that. The staff was lovely, and the gift shop and quick service restaurant were really nice. The food there was good and prepared pretty quickly in spite of the flood of people waiting to be served. The pool was of course amazing, and the pool bar was great, albeit overpriced (but that is expected here). I have to say, though, that overall, I prefer the Boardwalk Inn. I would certainly stay at the Beach Club again, but the rates at the Boardwalk tend to be a little lower and the atmosphere, rooms, and amenities are better. If I was bringing children on this vacation they would have had a blast at either resort, but maybe preferred the pool at the Beach Club, for sure. But without kids, Boardwalk takes the win by a mile.

Although not immediately WOWed by the actual resort, the location is so great that it may just make up for it. A beautiful, short walk into the back entrance of Epcot brings you directly into the countries. It is a relaxing walk and Epcot is nice and low key in the evening. Buses come to the resort to transport visitors to the other Disney parks, but they were a pain to catch, never ran on time, and we joked that we did not get a seat on a bus the entire trip (Standing room only).
The lobby was very open, fresh, and always clean.
Surprisingly Classy: Nothing in the resort screamed Disney- which surprised me. Overall it was very classy and not what I expected coming into a Disney owned resort. Check for some hidden Mickey's in the carpets and just one nod to Mickey in our room via a small desk lamp. As for the room decor- very outdated and tired. The furniture was beat to death but functional. I made a joke about getting a paper cut on the sheets as they were about as soft as the wax papers on drs exam tables. Very dim lighting around vanity. Not that I was too concerned to see how sweaty and gross I was after returning from 12 hrs smothering in the Florida summer heat. Just sayin.
There was one store in the resort and it was ALWAYS. PACKED. I mean absolute chaos open to close.
Pools: You cant get there from here. Or there. Just keep zig zagging over bridges and walks and you will end up...somewhere. It was PACKED. Sand bottom pool ended up being a big turn off. Sand bunched up in some areas so it was deep on the sides and bare in the middle. I also had the sinking feeling dirty bandaids and little girl barrets and who knows what else was intermixed down there squeezing between my toes. At least you could be rest assured you wouldnt be stepping on a crab. One curious observance was that the life guards did not wear bathing suits- but instead regular uniforms of shirts and shorts. Also they wore shoes and socks. I dont know about others...but I want a guard ready to spring to action, not taking time to shed clothes, socks, and shoes.
The pool bathroom: The worst restroom I encountered anywhere during the stay, including each Disney Park. No air conditioning, steamy, dirty, stinky. ( I must say the Disney park bathrooms were actually some of the best public restrooms ever. Good little fact to know.)

I was under the impression there would be a beach: I'd had envisioned lounging on the beach during this stay- turns out there is no swimming in the water. At all. No feet in the water, just a tease really. About five beach chairs no one sat in.
Staff: Very, very friendly- but my goodness- the uniforms could not have been worse. Not important, I know, but I sat and stared in wonder about what advantage there would be for staff to dress so ungodly. But that's how my mind works. I should, instead, have spent those moments taking in the absolutely beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding (swimless) water, boardwalk, lights, fresh beach cottage landscape with impeccable attention to every detail you could lay eyes on. It really is amazing. Something about the place evokes a positive attitude from guests like no where I've ever visited. You will find you can walk up to anyone and ask for directions/recommendations/whatever and you will not be met with suspicion or avoidance of eye contact like anywhere else in the world. A very positive place to be. A refreshing reprieve from the hustle and bustle of home.
Tip: Wifi is terrible. Seriously.

We have just returned from our 3rd stay at the Beach Club Resort, we have stayed at most Disney resorts over the past 20 years and can honestly say the this resort stands head and shoulders above all others.

The staff are exceptional from check in to house keeping, we requested a specific room number and were allocated the exact room, it seems they cannot do enough to ensure your stay is perfect, the general areas of the resort are well kept, the Lobby is amazing and the Pool complex is second to none, we found it a difficult decision to leave the resort for the water parks, the pool is that good.

The Rooms are spacious, very clean and well kept offering ample space for the four of us, not all rooms have balconies although ours did with a view of the Epcot fireworks, we have stayed at the Yacht Club where all rooms have balconies but in our opinion the Beach Club is slightly nicer.

Disney resorts aren't cheap but we feel the value for money to be very good.

We have now decided that it's the Beach Club or nothing for future visits, it really is that good.

Room Tip: Just ask, in our experience Disney will work very hard to accommodate requests and if you aren't...

First time at Disney and think we have found the perfect hotel as the Beach club was fantastic.
The pool was wonderful as it was so hot in the afternoons and was the perfect way to cool
down after visiting the parks in the morning. Also its a great bonus to be just two minutes walk from
Epcot. The rooms were nice and clean maybe could do with a little TLC or an update but apart from that no complaints at all. The staff there were all helpful a big thanks goes out to Robert
who works in the captains grill as he is a great character who really made us feel at home there
and his customer service was brilliant.

Our second visit as a family to Disney's Beach Club in the past year and we continue to be happy with the level of service, our room, and of course, the pool.

We stayed in a Club Level Deluxe Room and enjoyed the view of the quiet pool, the proximity to the elevators and found housekeeping to be great. Simply put, it was great room and we look forward to renting a similar room next year. While the walk to the Club Room was lengthy, it was worth getting a small snack, water, and/or cold adult beverage.

As for the pool, my kids love it. In hindsight, we should have spent more time relaxing by the water, but when you are a five minute walk to Epcot and a boat ride to Hollywood Studios, sitting by the pool goes by the wayside.

Now for the one negative: The transportation from Beach Club to Magic Kingdom is spotty. While you can ride the bus (which is nice), getting a taxi is difficult due to the sometimes inept bell staff. A few times, we called down for a taxi, and when we arrived (5 minutes) later, the cab was already gone. A few other times, the bell staff gave away our taxi to someone else and then scrambled to find another one. When a discussion concerning the transportation issues occurred, an apology was given, but the problems persisted. With that being said, I am totally surprised Disney hasn't taken over taxi transportation and eliminated the use of Mears Transportation.

Overall, we already getting ready to book another visit to either Yacht or Beach Club...decisions, decisions, decisions!

Room Tip: Club Level!
