“Absolutely Perfect Resort!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2010

We had stayed at Disney World in Florida twice before (at Port Orleans Riverside which is a moderate resort) Riverside was lovely, however due to the rising prices and the change in policy over sleeping 5 in one room - the price we were quoted for Riverside in 2010 was almost as much as staying at a Deluxe resort! For this reason we decided to book a deluxe. We chose the Beach Club Resort due to the brilliant reviews we read and the fact that our 8 year old 12 year old & 17 year old loves pools and this resort boasts the best of them all!

I cannot fault this resort in any way. I have nothing negative to say about the moderate resort Riverside, but when we arrived at the Beach Club resort, it was like another world! We knew this was a 'deluxe' as soon as we entered this beautiful and stunning resort. It took 5 minutes (if that) to walk to Epcot from the Beach Club. And it took about 10 minutes to walk to Hollywood Studios! This was excellent and saved waiting for a boat etc. The Boarwalk Resort was just a walk around the lake - This resort boasts brilliant shops and restaurants plus liely entertainment and clubs at night.

The food and various restaurants were amazing, including Cape May Cafe, Beaches & Cream Ice Cream Parlour and Hurricane Hanna's which is located right at the pool. In facy everything is located right at the pool! I also loved using the gym and the kids loved the sand bottom pool and giant slide.

The only reason I didn't rate the value as 5 stars is because of the crazy prices to stay anywhere in Disney, especially if you are a party of 5 or more. But rest assured this Resort is perfect.

We stayed at this resort from 9/26 to 10/1/10 and we can't wait to return! I can only describe our stay as "magical". The resort is breath-taking, beautiful pools with sand bottom, nice pool-side bar & grill "Hurricane Hanna's", and the rest I'll give some details. First of all we upgraded our room to concierge, club level. For a family of 4 it was worth every penny! We had a beautiful, large room with 2 queen beds and a daybed. We had plenty of room to walk around and didn't get into each other's space, very nice! Our 4 year old made a lot of "Ooh and ah" comments throughout the resort, too cute!

We stayed on the 2nd floor and our balcony faced a private pool that is open until midnight, but they will let you stay later if you don't make noise. It also has a jacuzzi along side of it. The other pools close @ 10pm. The concierge service on the 5th floor was amazing. The staff will do anything to please you. The appetizers were tasty, everything from cheese, fruit, crackers and usually 2 hot appetizers like egg rolls, bacon wrapped scallops, quesadillas, stuff like that. 3 different wines to choose from, about 4 different beers, sodas and Evian bottled water. We usually brought beer, wine and appetizers back to our room when we were too tired to hang out in the lounge. The lounge is nice but it can become crowded especially around 5ish and at breakfast. There's a nice little area for kids with their own TV.

My son's luggage was lost on arrival (because it did not have a Disney luggage slip/ tag on it). It was retrieved after following up more than 2x with the front desk. That's the only complaint we have. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH DISNEY LUGGAGE STRAPS/TAGS!!!! If not, request more way before your trip. It will save you a headache Ü

Other than that we had a blast. We didn't want to leave but it's something to look forward to next vacation! We will DEFINITELY return to the Beach Club Resort. Oh and by the way, if you like steaks, fish and a beautiful aquarium atmosphere, you must try the Coral Reef Restaurant for dinner at Epcot. Awesome and delicious! The restaurant at the resort, Cape May Buffet, has a great selection for dinner. All in all I cannot imagine why anyone would complain about this resort other then the enjoyment of complaining.

I had been looking forward to staying here, but now I'm not sure we'll stay again. The pros: convenient 3-minute walk to EPCOT, beautiful setting, good storage, comfortable beds. The cons: Housekeeping was sketchy (taking soap and not replacing, not replacing coffee or cups), the bathroom is too small with only a centimeter clearance between the door and the toilet, poor quick-service dining (the Marketplace is just not adequate), musty smell in the room, no real sitting area in the room, no free wifi.
Stormalong Bay pool is pretty, but it closes earlier than other WDW pools, so if you're out late at the park forget it. The lazy river is also 8 ft deep in some places, so a nonswimmer like my mother could not enjoy it. We found ourselves using the quiet pool close to our room often, however, because it was open 24 hrs.
I would recommend this hotel only if you get a good rate like we did, which was 40% off the rack rate. Even with that, I'm not sure we will stay here again. We actually missed the Contemporary!!!

Recently stayed for 3 nights while attending a conference. The location and pool were amazing. The rooms were very roomy and the beds were comfy. Can't wait to return with the kids.

We just got back from Disney's Beach Club Resort after spending a week there. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived so they upgraded us to a full Crescent Lake View room. This room (1561) also wasn't ready, so they put a rush on it for us. It was about 4:30 p.m. by now and we were tired after our long trip from Nova Scotia. For the inconvenience they credited us a $50 bonus to our account to use as we pleased, which we accepted. We were too tired to agrue anyway.

The room is the perfect location - about 10 steps from the quiet pool, which we seniors appreciated. Directly is front of our patio doors was the most beautiful view of Crescent Lake with the sandy beach, swings and lounger chairs. About three minutes through the quiet pool area is the path for Epcot entrance. Everything was so close to our room it made it easy for everything we wanted to do at the hotel. My sister and her husband had room 4585 which they too loved because they wanted a full balcony.

About 3 minutes in the other direction, up the beach from Crescent Lake is the boat launch for transportation to Hollywood Studios and The Boardwalk. You can also take the scenic route by boat to Epcot too if you want.

The first night we had reservations at Cape May for dinner. The seafood buffet was truly amazing. I thought my brother-in-law and husband would sprout fins they ate so much fish. My sister and I stuck with the more traditional stuff, great soups, salads and roast beef as well.

We had the Disney meal plan and truly had more food than we could possibly eat, especially at the table service meals which includes the buffet meals too.

My one and only complaint which, after so much luxury, seems petty - is the MARGARINE they use in ALL Disney restaurants. I am not a fussy eater, but it really tastes like the cheap stuff they used in the early 1950's after the war to save money. I was really surprised Disney would use this stuff because it seems like such a small portion of the otherwise luxurious meals they have. If this bothers you too, I suggest taking a small container of your own brand butter or margarine.

As with all Disney staff, DBC staff are all pleasant and accommodating.

The lazy river and Storm-along-bay are a dream come true for kids who love the water. The large water slides complete the picture for them.

We can't wait to go again. We should have listened to our neice who said "once you go to Disney's Beach Club Resort you will be spoiled for all other hotels bar none". For us this is true.

I've just returned home from a fantastic holiday at the WDW Beach Club Resort. I agree with all the positive aspects of the gorgeous indeed stunning resort that others have reported here but there is one thing very wrong in my view, the room doesn't get cleaned until approximately 4.00p.m. What on earth is that about?!

1st good trip with my husband, 3 boys (4, 8 and 9) Location is great because we were a very short walk to Epcot and the boardwalk. The pool was fantastic and fun. A little pricey but worth the expense. Try to go in Aug where free dining is offered to cut costs. We considered a moderate choice for next trip but decided on staying here or Boardwalk hotel because of the location. Nice hotel!!! Cape May rest. was ok . The only thing is I did not like the size of my room..thought it would be a bit more larger.
