“One or our favorite resorts on Disney property but Concierge level starting to wane.”
Reviewed 3 June 2012

Stayed at the Yacht Club for the second time and this time on the conceirge level. This is the third Disney resort where we have stayed conceirge (Beach Club, Wilderness the other two) and I have to say that each time have found the over all conceirge experience to be waning. First the good of the Yacht Club:
Great locations for older families since it is near Epcot (can walk into Epcot back entrance near France/UK) and a short boat ride to Hollywood Studios. The Magic Kingdom is a bus ride away so for younger families I might recommend a resort at the Magic Kingdom side.
Also love the fact that there are a whole host of resorts that you can walk to (Beach, Boardwalk, Dolphin & Swan). This allows you to go to a TON of restaurants, walk over to bakery at the Boardwalk or France so on.
The pool is awesome, sand bottom and a big waterslide. It can get busy with it being shared between then Beach and Yacht Club.
Ice cream shop, drinks/food right at the pool, steak house all right there.
Breakfast buffet at the restaurant is good or you can go over to the Beach Club to have a character breakfast.
The rooms are reasonable in size with either dual queens and a daybed. The bathroom has double sinks and a separate shower/toilet room.
Yacht Club does seem to get more business conference guests than other resorts since there is a conference center right there. Therefore I see more adults than kids and it seems to be a little quieter.

The Bad:
Concierge room give continental style breakfast but other stays used to have a hot option or two that I remember. That seems to go for all the little meal times throughout the day. They used to have more warm options.
Concierge room used to also have more "mobile" food options such as bottled water, Uncrustables PB&J so on. Now you can get a big bottle of water but not bottles and PB&J comes in a cup but not mobile.
Basically they seem to be trying to limit the consumption of food there and have you buy more out at the park.
Having the capability to do more online with reservations and such also seems to limit the usefulness of the Concierge themselves. Basically they don't seem to have access to much more than I do with my iPhone. First time I went they got us in to see a show or a restaurant even though they seemed to have limited availability. Now.. not so much.

Still a great place but I'm not sure if the concierge level if really worth it unless you are getting a price deal.

Came to Disney with family for only 2 days with the ultimate goal to get to all 4 parks and get on all rides. It's possible, because we did it. Stayed at the Yacht Club, mainly because we had heard how amazing it was. We knew it was expensive, but we really wanted the location. However, we went on mousesavers.com, and found a code to use when booking during the off season (We went end of August). We ended up getting the room, that would usually cost us $400 a night, for $250 a night! It was kind of small, but we were never in the room for a while so it didn't matter. We were on the first floor overlooking the bay and the Boardwalk Inn. The room was quiet, very clean, and was decorated to the max. Thanks Disney! The pool at the hotel is nothing short of a small water park. The hotel is connected to the Beach Club Hotel, and the two of them share some great restaurants. It is a short walk (or boat ride) to Epcot, a short boat ride to Hollywood Studios, and there are frequent buses to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and a bunch of other places. Overall, a beautiful hotel in a great location!

We picked this hotel for the pool and we were not disappointed. The pool is large enough to find a chair or a strech of sand. Our 6 year old loved the giant slide and sand bottom. He made lots of friends playing in the sand. We had a garden view, but wish we paid the extra money for the bay view. We were shocked how close a walk we were to EPCOT and the Boardwalk Hotel. We rented a car and getting anywhere to/from the hotel was easy...the non-valet parking lot fills quickly and is a bit of a hike from the hotel lobby, but worth the $12/day savings. Food options in the hotel and nearby Beach Club resort are great and me and my 6 year old boy spent most late evenings in the arcade. The hotel room was a very nice hotel room. Nothing over the top. You pay for the pool and location of this hotel. We would highly recommend for a family who's kids love playing in the pool and and enjoy EPCOT.

I had to go to Disney for training . Pookie and I had the best time .....turned out it was "GAY " week, lesbians everywhere - we felt right at home. Everyone was so happy , courteous , and helpful. The hotel , gardens , and the parks were all immaculate. The Yachtsman steakhouse was fabulous, with very special sides don't miss the dough covered sweet potato completely covered in powdered sugar - yummy !!! There a great sandwich and ice cream shop right off the very unusual sand covered bottom pool ( best in the USA) ....... we ordered the " kitchen sink " sundae I enjoyed about a tenth of it before I was stuffed with Ice cream, Pookie took over and ate the whole thing WOW . Now all these great things come with a price - you should know - The Yacht Club is very expensive .....but well worth it. We highly recommend it . It was a great 5 days, very happy to learn that Mickey Mouse is gay and President Obama supports gay marriage all in same week . xoxo Kasha

Make sure you bring your key card for all memebrs of your family when going to the pool, no matter how old your kids are. Lifegaurd Rick is a real jerk about this. He made us go up to our room to retrive keycards for our two little ones. I thought the whole thing was bizzare, and he was quite rude and condescending about it as well. Other than that, great hotel!!!

Room Tip: Don't bother asking for a pool view with a standard room. We did, and received a great view of a...

Just returned from a 3 night stay and have wanted to stay here for years. Utilized Disney's Magical Express and was greeted upon arriving at the hotel by Renee who escorted me to the Reservation Desk. I was assigned to room 3080 Garden View and it was also overlooking the "quiet" pool. By the way, the other pool, Stormalong Bay Pool, is by far the best pool at any Disney Resort. Water slide, lazy river, kids area, water volleyball, lifeguards that dance and group activities for the kids each day made this a fun experience! We always go to Disney early and then take an afternoon break at the pool then head back for evening fun at the parks. The Yacht Club made our stay very enjoyable and we were greeted by the staff each day by them saying either "Welcome Home", "Welcome Aboard", or "Have a Magical Day".

The water taxis are just the best and can take you quickly to EPCOT, Boardwalk, The Dolphin or Swan Hotels, or Hollywood Studios. Go to the lighthouse and board the boat for a fun ride.

Housekeeping did a great job with no complaints from us. The bed linens are very plush and the beds were comfortable. The hotel opened in 1990 and is keeping up with the times, flat-screened tv and free wifi were nice. I asked how to connect to wifi in passing a staff member in the hallway, and he volunteered to give me the written instructions which I took. (I just hadn't read the materials contained in my info packet.) We will stay here again and looking forward to next year already!

Room Tip: Always ask for an upgrade upon check-in. You may just get it!

The convenience to Epcot and Hollywood Studios couldn't be beat. The staff was friendly, movies on the beach were nice. The lobby smelled beautiful and fresh, but upstairs and everywhere else was stuffy and smelled like old lady perfume. It was disgusting. The housekeeping was not good. It didn't compare to the Grand Floridian at all and as nice and convenient as the stay was I will definitely not stay there again. No special surprises for my kid's special occasions like they are accustomed to at the GF; just doesn't compare. We were glad we stayed here instead of the Beach Club though, which was as crowded as Grand Central Station. Many loud, drinking and partying convention-goers were not a nice site for a family. You do not get what you pay for here. Club level was not that great. Just trying to be honest and save someone the trouble of being disappointed if they think that this would compare to the monorail resorts.
