Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Ranked #56 of 340 Hotels in Orlando
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 7 March 2013

We chose the Yacht Club at Disney because we loved it many times in the past. In fact, I heard
Former Disney CEO and several other celebs prefer the Yacht Club over the Grand Floridian.
I like it because its the closest hotel to the light house water transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin Resorts. I have a disability and this hotel is perfectly situated near everything with lots of transportation options for people who can't walk well. There are lots of lovely walkways for the mobile visitors too. The pool is spectacular, the rooms have the
most wonderful decor, and I have stayed at every Disney resort ! The Yachtsman Steakhouse is
Really good, but make reservations. The other dining option, the Yacht Club cafe, is good for breakfast, but only so so for dinner, and there is a blonde hostess that works there who is just mean And nasty and seemed to enjoy treating guests badly- very snippy. Everyone else was so nice.
The Crew Cup Bar next to the Yachtsman Steakhouse is great, fun and lots of nautical dark wood
To set the mood. Many dining options in this area, especially if you take the free boats to Boardwalk, Epcot, Swan, Dolphin resorts. The housekeeping staff work very hard and engineering responded quickly to fix our lamp, very great service and friendly too ! Disney is just wonderful.
We had a minibar, a wet bar, a great big screen HD TV, a fridge, and the best view of the lagoon, Boardwalk and the boats floating by lit up at night. Oh, the best part was watching a perfect view
Of Epcot's Illuminations from our balcony ! room 1359 has a great view and location near everything we wanted, although it is a long hike to the lobby. All the areas are reached via indoor
Hallways which is very nice during rainy, windy weather. The shops are great and they sell bottles of liquor in the gifts shop, along with snacks, food, and soft drinks. I highly recommend Disney's
Yacht Club Resort. The attached Beach Club Resort is more lively and has more children, the
Yacht Club is more elegant and refined, with fewer kids and QUIETER !

Room Tip: Room 1359, near elevator and boat transportation and bus stop. Long walk to Lobby, but great Locat...

We stayed here two years ago and returned this week and had another wonderful experience. The staff is amazing; the hotel is lovely and elegant and relaxing; the rooms are very comfortable and clean (the housekeeping staff does a great job).

This time we stayed at club level, which only added to the relaxation. It was nice to walk down the hallway for a continental breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, danish, juice and coffee; then in the evening it was nice to have a glass of wine and appetizers before heading out for dinner. (Like other club level deals at hotels, there are always people who are just piggy when it comes to this: I saw one woman fill up a styrofoam coffee cup with wine and take it to her room; others pile their plates with food.)

The concierge service was especially nice. They all went out of their way to help when we discovered a mistake in our reservation and when we had to postpone our departure.

We will definitely come here again.

By far this room was appointed in a lovely way. The view one of the best we have had in 100+ trips. Just a fantastic room with a view.
The staff were underwhelming by far. Yes it is one of the premiere properties in WDW but the staff takes themselves very serious and perhaps forget they are in WDW and not Bermuda.
No hellos, goodbyes, lots of busy work when people appear in front of them.
The concierge is hard to speak to....perhaps because there nose is so high in the air.
We did as you always do find a star. The room service Cast member we just happened to have every morning was a doll and a star and needs to be promoted!!!!!

This was my second time at the Yacht Club, but first time on the club level (thanks for the upgrade!). It's certainly the nicest (and most convenient) place to stay at Disney, but leaves much to be desired. The rooms are worn down, the service is slow (room service dishes stayed outside our door over 12 hours after we finished), and the food is mediocre. I'd stay here again, but hoping they do an upgrade soon!

My wife and I stayed there for her birthday. We booked the club level and received a pool/lake view. The views were wonderful with nightly fireworks seen from our room. The concerge staff was wonderful and were very helpful and friendly. The club level concerge lounge was very good and left us wanting for nothing. The only issues were the hotal hallways were never cleaned so there was all sorts of dirt / spills on hallway carpet. One particular spill was there the whole week while we were there. The beds were OK and the room was in need of sprucing up. Not what we expected in a disney deluxe resort. We will return to disney in the future but will stay @ another resort on site ( Grand Floridian)

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary trip and it was wonderful! We had a room overlooking the lake and Boardwalk and could even watch the fireworks at night from our balcony. The room was fairly large for just the 2 of us, with a nice sitting area. We just loved the ambiance of the hotel, it felt very upscale. It was decorated beautifully for the Holidays. It was a short walk to the Epcot International gate and a little longer walk to Hollywood studios. It was wonderful not to have to rely on the bus system most of our stay. The casual restaurant, Captains Grille, was great, and the signature restaurant, Yachtsman, was fantastic. It was truly a magical stay and I couldn't have been happier that we picked the YC!

We only had one issue - the billing system was down for maintenance, so we were not able to apply our gift cards at the end of the stay. We would have liked to have been told about it beforehand, but the front desk staff addressed the issue and ensured that everything was applied correctly and emailed us a final copy of our bill after we got home.

This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are very clean and nice. The location is wonderful - a 5 minute walk to both Epcot and the Disney Boardwalk. The pools are great, and there are plenty of places to get late night drinks.

We only ate in the restaurants for breakfast, which were very nice, if not expensive. But it's Disney, so you have to expect a heftier price tag.

The ambiance is very Nantucket, and for a moment, you wouldn't know you're in Florida - except for the humidity and it being 85 degrees in February. Without children, I would certainly return to this location. It was wonderful. With children, I think I might head for a more child "interesting" location.
