“Perfect for adults”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

This hotel is perfect for adults without the major price tag of the deluxe hotels. It is also great for older people who do not want to do a ton of walking after a long day at the parks. This hotel is cozy and does it's job as a theme park hotel. It is one of the smallest (if not the smallest) resort on all of Disney property but I find it to be charming. There is only one bus stop which may be a negative for some people. But the bus stop is rarely crowded as this hotel attracts an older crowd. If you don't want to wait for a bus rent a car, it is free to park at all Disney resorts (except swan and Dolphin) and theme parks and there is ample parking available. The resort is nice and quiet with a wonderful quiet town atmosphere. They show a movie on the lawn every night as well as a bonfire. There is a small food court and no sit down restaurants, but it is perfect for a quick grab and go breakfast or quick snack after the parks. I have stayed at many Disney resorts and this has been my favorite so far. The rooms were very clean and comfortable (compared to the value resorts which were not) and the customer service was fantastic. However, we did go off season (last week of October) and the crowds were minimal. I would even recommend this resort for in season guests.

Room Tip: We stayed in building 6 facing the "french quarter". Rooms facing the courtyard are bette...

This is the first time we have stayed in a Disney hotel, although we have previously staying in Orlando lots of times. We stayed here for a week, then International Drive for a week. This worked out the perfect combination for us as we don't drive abroad.
This hotel had transport to all theme/water parks which arrive approx. every 20 minutes. These buses are sometimes very crowded and occasionally did not squeeze everyone in. Unfortunately people don't stand in line whilst waiting for the bus, so it was very much a mad rush for people to get on quickly.
All areas of this hotel are kept very clean.
The river cruise to Downtown Disney was super! A free service offered by the hotel and we recommend using this at least once during your stay.
Marshmallow toasting and outdoor movies were nightly and we all thoroughly enjoyed both!
The pool area was great and the pool attendants/life guards were amazing! They did a super job supervising the people enjoying their swim!
A HUGE thank you to Pam Parks and Arneil who were so knowledgable and so helpful!
Would definitely stay here again but -
The only downside for me was the constant jazz background music in the public areas. Although we enjoyed it at first after a week it was a little annoying and any longer would have driven us slightly insane!

My family stayed at this hotel last October. We had 9 in our party and had a very enjoyable stay. The room was clean and the staff very pleasant. The grandchildren enjoyed the slide in the pool. We also liked the convenience of going to Downtown Disney by boat. The bus service was very good. There was only one stop at this hotel. I would recommend it for a family

Room Tip: Get a room near the lobby and food court.

We stayed here for 10 nights and I've never slept better. The resort is very clean, tidy and well maintained, the staff are polite, helpful and always have a smile for you and nothing is ever too much trouble. The room was spacious and the bathroom was neat and tidy. The laundry on site was easy to understand and use. !!! Note you need a debit/credit card or purchase a card from reception, to use it !!!! The river boat that takes you to downtown disney is a very calm, serene and relaxing way to travel.
Personally the only downside for myself was the food choices, if you are on the Quick Disney dining plan. The Disney quick snack dining plan is a very good idea, it would of cost us a fortune on food without it, each meal for 2 people was approx $25-$30 each time. ( so weigh up cost of plan to cost of 2 meals per day) I was limited to only eating the chicken as the food has a New Orleans flavour and this is not something I could personally eat.
The bus transportation is very good in off season, but main season you could be waiting a long time as they run every 20 mins.
Realistically if you want to go anywhere other than a Disney resort/park, you need a car, we didn't have one, as I didn't feel comfortable driving in USA as I'd never been here before, but after seeing the roads around Disney and how people drive, I don't think it would of been that bad, everything is well signposted. TAXIS are really expensive from Port Orleans French Quarter to Universal or Seaworld it costs about 35 dollars each way.

Room Tip: Building 7 is farthest away and the quietest, some rooms face the river, so have a good view.

When on vacation or business trips, I always stay at a Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn,or another in the same line. I guess I am used to a higher quality room & bed, since these rooms were not as nice.. Let me start with the arrival. My friends and I (all 14 of us) were greeted with smiles at the front desk, but we had to remind them we had requested our 5 rooms to be together. It was resolved. What was nice was, since we arrived late morning, the resort would text us when our rooms would be ready. One was even ready that early so we piled everyones luggage in that room. We met the cleaning staff and they were laughing along with us. The entire week, the cleaning staff were friendly & aimed to please.

You can see where Disney is cheap and cuts corners. The sheets are a poor rough quality, and the 4 pillows were cheapo ones also. The bed is ok...average. Bring your own hairdryer! We were all laughing at the hair dryer in the rooms since they are poor quality and the air coming out is like nothing. The ironing board cover in my room was used over & over with stains...hey, Disney...it's time to get a new one. The double sinks are nice, as well as a refrigerator in the room. The room size was perfect for all of us The most in o neroom with our group had 4 in (2 adults & 2 kids) and they were comfortable. We were in rooms 2312, 2311, 2309, and 2 others close by. They were close to the pool and the lobby. The boats to Downtown Disney were great!

This resort should get a restaurant here. How about it Disney? So, overall......rooms were clean, but basic. The grounds are very pretty & clean

We stayed here back in 2007 and enjoyed it then, this stay was no different.
Back then the rooms had no balcony, so we saw no point in booking anything other than a standard view this time and it turned out to be the right call because the rooms still don't have a balcony (not a problem for us).
While the grounds were just like we remembered, spacious but cozy, the room looked like it had been renovated which was a pleasant surprise. We were in building 7 on the 3rd floor and although it might look like a long walk to the lobby, pool or restaurant it really wasn't. All we expected from the hotel was a clean room and a bed for the night and we weren't disappointed. We were also lucky enough to get the odd towel animals every other day. Free wi-fi was welcome and we were fortunate enough to not suffer any connection issues. But even if we did, it's free so why complain?
We really enjoyed the pool and the kids loved the activities as well as the slide.
Every staff member made us feel welcome and the attention they gave to our "princesses" added that magical touch to our stay.
The menu at the restaurant had enough variety for us to enjoy something different each time we dined there for our 7 day stay.
Bus transportation was free and convenient but could be slow and crowded at times so we chose to rent a car some days.
Overall it was a great stay and won't hesitate to stay again.

We stayed at this hotel because it was ranked relatively high for being a moderately priced Disney resort. The hotel is clean and the bathroom in our room was spacious. Also, it was easy to park close to our room. But you enter the rooms with doors to the outside, which makes it more like a motel than a hotel. I had an uncomfortable, long encounter with the concierge desk when I stood there for 45 minutes while they tried to fix our magic bands. The three women I dealt with that afternoon seemed annoyed or frustrated with having to help me, which is the opposite of what I experienced everywhere else in Disney World with their amazing friendly service. The buses take a long time, so we ended up mostly driving ourselves to the parks. Overall, it is a fine place to stay, but I wouldn't call it magical like the rest of Disney World.
