“Big resort, small room”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

The resort was huge... I didn't quite understand from the reviews how much so. One in our party had trouble walking around, and even though I'd paid for a "preferred room" we still had a long way to walk to the bus stops--and we were evenly placed between stops 1 & 4--and dining options.

Also, we had a pack-n-play in our room, which made it almost impossible to walk around. There was really no convenient place to put it--either it blocked the door, the room next door (other family members staying), getting in/out of bed, or bathroom access.

Room Tip: Try to go for Cabana 9B, if you can.

The hotel is circular in shape with a lake in the middle making it a long journey to get to the other side of the resort. If you stay away from the lobby/restaurants, you would need to take the park bus service to get around the resort which is awkward.

The resort itself is well maintained. The rooms are excellent and the food was delicious at all venues. This resort is great if you don't mind the size or get a room location suitable to your needs.

Room Tip: Casitas 1-3 would be near lobby/restaurants. Others would be near the main pool.

Stayed here just on an overnight for a quick weekend getaway with the kids. Check in took 35 minutes and that was at 10pm! Cannot imagine what it would be like at peek hours. There were quite a few staff just standing around back of counter as the line was growing to check in or guests with questions. Then the new magic band implementation and synch up adds quite a bit of time. I understand and would appreciate this if we were here longer. However as annual pass holders and only staying one night the length of time was unacceptable with 2 kids tired from running around the park all day. We were in a "preferred building" #3 (not sure what this really means as we saw no benefit - far from pool and far from lobby/restaurant) first floor. Room was clean albeit a bit musty smelling and the beds were comfy. Kids hated that you could hear our neighbors running in and out slamming door until well passed midnight. Walls VERY thin!
Maid service came banging on door at 8:30am on Sunday to see if we had cleared out yet - my bad I guess I should have placed privacy please....
I am a lover of all things Disney, however I could never justify the cost for this property again as you can stay for the same or less in a new and beautifully updated space in nearby Hilton, Wyndam or Hyatt.

We stayed here for a week in "business class". The resort is very nice, but spread out. We stayed in the Cabanas 9B. The Business Class offered a light breakfast in the morning and snacks and drinks in the evening. That part was a good value. The room was nice and updated. Beds were comfortable. The room itself was dark. This property has exterior hallways, windows look out onto a hall, so no leaving the drapes open for natural light. The pool was nice, but the slide was short. Lots of activities around the pool throughout the day. Bus service was fine, but there are 4 bus stops throughout the property. Depending on where you are located, you may stop 3 more times before heading to you park destination. The food was both good and bad, but that is another review. Overall, if we were attending a conference at this resort we would stay here, otherwise we will try something else next time.

Room Tip: Cabanas 9B are close to lobby

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in nov 2013 And it's perfect for couples or a honeymoon. It's really good for kids too especially the pool area but I think it's more for adults :) the staff I was also great and very friendly! They have 3 locations to eat and they were excellent! Esp the breakfast at the pepper cafe

We had considered our options to park ourselves when planning our Disney holiday.
The good part about staying at a Disney hotel was, being entitled to facilities they provide to Disney guests. The commuting being the highlight. It is very difficult walking back to your hotel after having walked around Disney world all day. There are buses shuttles that arrive at regular intervals from your hotel to the Disney kingdom.

It is very economical. We didn't find anything too overpriced.
The food was great! We enjoyed our meals.

The rooms were good, but we were outdoors most of the times, so that didn't matter too much.
We had wi-fi in our rooms. That really helped.

The staff was excellent. Very warm and wearing a smile all the time. They went out of their way to help us in any which way.

For anyone planning a holiday to Disneyworld, your main priority should be to book a hotel in the periphery of the parks or exploring the convenience to commute.

Overall, I had a good holiday and a great stay in this resort.

We stayed at Coronado Springs for our first trip to Disney mainly because they have queen beds and my husband is very tall!

Pros: Queen Beds, Mayan Grill, Friendly hotel staff, easy on/off shuttle

Cons: The pool was FAR away from our room and with two kids it was way to far to walk so we only went once. Quick serve restaurant confusing and not a great food selection.
