Wife and I stayed here last week in our first trip to WDW. The staff were as friendly as could be. The property and rooms were very clean and well-maintained, too. You must understand that the rooms are exterior-entry—you don't enter from an inside hallway but rather from the great outdoors (sort of like cheap motels always are). Our room was very far from the main lobby, too, so it was quite a trek with heavy luggage.

They put us in a non-smoking two-queen room with a bed very sqeaky but thankfully the other was OK. Mattresses were about average firmness and the pillows were very thick. Our room had zero cell reception, but at least the free WIFI was decent. Bathroom layout was annoying. The door is so close to the shower that it does not open all the way, and if you want to close the door, you have to step in around the toilet to do so.

Complementary transportation from the hotel to the parks is OK, but there's no set schedule—you just show up and hope you don't have to wait long. I'd skip the on-site restaurant; we went for breakfast and the eggs were watery and the bacon was floppy and very fatty.

All in all, it was a fine experience but it was certainly nothing special. If we were to return to WDW, I doubt we'd stay here again.

My husband and 2 kids and I were just at Coranado Springs and we were first put in a section that was very far away from the pool and the lobby so they relocated us and it was much better. The room is just okay, but the grounds and the lake and the pool are awesome. But the nice thing about the room is that there are heavy sliding doors to seperate the bathroom and sink area from the room, so I had my own private reading space at night without disturbing the family. The beds are comfy and the linens are nice, the housekeeping was great. For a moderate place, it is not bad at all. And the bus service is quick.

My wife and I with our two young daughters stayed here last week. We had an absolute great time. The room was clean and comfortable. The main pool area was fun and the grounds are beautiful. Our housekeeping was attentive and always promptly responded to requests for shampoo, towels, coffee, etc. This is not the Four Seasons. It is a very nice Disney moderate resort. I have stayed at Carribbean Beachand French Quarter and by far this was the best moderate. We stayed in Cabanas 8a in room 8146. Our room was on the lake right next to the main pool area which was very convenient. On a side note...we received the free Disney Dining plan during our stay. Our trip for 7 nights, 3 days of park tickets, Disney Dining Plan and Magical Express was about 2,400 dollars. On the dining plan our sit down meals were at Maya Grill, Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare, Mama Melrose Fantasmic lunch, Akeshuers Princess lunch in Norway, Coral Reef in Epcot, and Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom. Our counter service meals included Be Our Guest Restaurant, Pepper Market and others. The value we received for what we paid was excellent. We also rented a car from EZ Rental for $126 dollars total for the entire week. Overall we had an awesome trip and I recommend Coronado highly.

Room Tip: We were in room 8146 which is on the lake side and a 20 second walk to the main pool.

Stayed here the week before Thanksgivng for a conference which changed venues from another city in Florida. This hotel was $10-15 more per night than our previous 5-Star hotel, but offered less in amenities and hospitality. The doors are exterior, meaning your windows open to the walkways/halls leading to rooms...you need to keep your curtains closed all the time unless you want people peering in, which makes it feel like a tomb. If you're not here for Disney (ie a conference), room comfort is HUGE. Additionally, these widows don't open at all, not even a crack to allow fresh air in which results in a constant/musty smell. Housekeeping was poor about replacing toiletries you used and always had to ask for more soap, lotion, etc. Could not get the temp of the fridge right, couldn't keep AC on the right temp (always went up, even if I had it set on a low temp) and food is overpriced, even the simple items, paid $50 for a grilled chicken salad, refillable soda mug and a burrito for lunch from the Pepper Market, come on. Asked about a grocery store at bell desk only to be told the closest one was by McDonalds at Downtown Disney, but found out 2 days later there is a Publix 10 min away...keeping people on the resort property is key for employees. Inquired about the meal plan option, but conveniently, you must make this reservation THREE days before you arrive. There was a disconnect bt either their conference dept and our liaison, or our liaison and the group, but important to point out. Lastly, they charge if you put more than two adults in a room ($15/adult/day), yet another money maker for Disney that netted $66 Billion in 2010. I have stayed in Ritz Carlton's where you could put 10 people in a room and pay a flat rate. Bottom line, this hotel is a total ripoff and won't be returning even if my conference does.

Our stay at Coronado Springs Resort (Nov. 2013) was fraught with issues from before we even set foot in the room. I knew when we booked that this is a moderate resort and had adjusted my expectations accordingly, but apparently hadn't set them quite low enough.

That said, had the room been clean and housekeeping performed their jobs, I wouldn't have ever uttered a complaint. My expectations for this resort weren't ridiculously high - I just expected a clean room and decent service. I know it's not the Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton, but I expected better than a Motel 6 or Days Inn. (To its credit, the beds and bedding were pretty comfortable.)

We received neither, unfortunately.

LONG story short, the shower/bathroom was moldy and reeked of mildew (and mold/mildew was visible), housekeeping skipped our room one day and never serviced it even after repeated requests, and we felt that staff was lackadaisical and uninterested in making things right.

Bottom line - we had a great time at Walt Disney World but will not ever return to Coronado Springs Resort. Based on this experience - our first staying on WDW property - we question whether or not we'll ever stay at a WDW resort again.

I don't know why people expect a $130/night hotel to have the same quality/atmosphere as a $300/night hotel. Disney's Coronado is a MODERATE resort, not a delux one. For a moderate resort, it is very nice. We stayed here last week & had an excellent experience. Yes, it can be quite a distance from the front office to the room, but if you are willing to wait for a shuttle, you do not ever have to walk it.

If you are not willing to wait up to 20 minutes for a shuttle, rent a car. Disney's shuttle service is very reliable & functions exactly as advertised... "Shuttles run about every 20 minutes."

Coronado Springs, being about the same price as a Day's Inn, is excellent for what it is. The room was clean and the TV worked... that's about all I expect.

Who spends much time in their room at Disney World, anyway?? We slept there. That's all. It worked very nicely.

Thanks, again and as always, Disney, for an AWESOME vacation!!

The resort was huge... I didn't quite understand from the reviews how much so. One in our party had trouble walking around, and even though I'd paid for a "preferred room" we still had a long way to walk to the bus stops--and we were evenly placed between stops 1 & 4--and dining options.

Also, we had a pack-n-play in our room, which made it almost impossible to walk around. There was really no convenient place to put it--either it blocked the door, the room next door (other family members staying), getting in/out of bed, or bathroom access.

Room Tip: Try to go for Cabana 9B, if you can.
