The 2 bd/2 ba room we had was wonderful for my husband and 4 y.o. daughter and I on our 6 night trip. We are experience Disney travelers and loved how clean the resort was, how nice the layout was, and the great service. We'd love to go back in the future.
We arrived late on Monday night due to plane delays. The first room give to us was on second floor and when we arrived it had a broken shower door. We took our luggage back down and they immediately apologized and told us that that was supposed to be out of order. I requested a higher floor in hopes of seeing fireworks, so we were put on the 12th floor. Out of the hallway window we could see the fireworks from Seaworld, and from our balcony, we could watch the Magic Kingdom's fireworks at 10 every night. We could easily distinguish the Contemporary Resort at night as well as Space Mountain during the day.
The bathrooms were cleaned daily and towels replenished, but there is also a washer and dryer for people to clean those sweat stained clothes. There was a ton of closet space and ample room to put your luggage. The fridge had an ice maker which also filtered the water. This saved us money as we refilled our water bottles with that and froze them, instead of buying more water bottles. We ate a few meals in the condo as the kitchen was well stocked. I needed more dishwashing soap and they provided that - some places do not give you more than one, so that was very nice to have everything from tissues to shampoo replaced.
My daughter loved the swimming pool area. It isn't always in the sun, but after being at the parks all day, that isn't all bad. It didn't seem heated, but in August, that was just fine. They have a small kids pool area for babies/toddlers, and a separate whirlpool and big pool. The big pool was always clean and towels were provided (although at times you need to tell the front desk that they are out). The pool was always very quiet. The rooms all overlook the pool, so you children always have it on their mind!! She still talks about the pool and seems to have forgotten feeding the dolphins at Seaworld or meeting Cinderella at the Grand Floridian!!
The beds were comfortable and the curtains REALLY darken the room. But don't sleep the day away, as it's best to get to the parks early. There were no alarm clocks in either bedroom, so we bought one for ourselves. Bring yours along. They have flat screen tvs in both bedrooms and the livingroom and internet is free and works well. There is not a DVD player, so bring yours from home. One the website it says something about no self-parking, but we just pulled in the lot everyday!
The views from the top floors are beautiful - overlooking Lake Eve and some other resorts. The price simply cannot be beaten for this gem. Give it a try. Other reviews seem to find a lot of faults, so either I have more patience and understanding, or they've improved since they've opened the place. I'd recommend it to anyone and hope you take advantage of the great deals they have going on right now!!
