Wow, we just returned from our "Holiday" weekend in Disney. This was our first stay at an All Star Resort, and we truly felt like All Stars :) we will definitely stay here again. We were upgraded to a Family Suite. After reading reviews here on TripAdvisor we decided on the All Star Music and asked for Calypso based on other reviews. We did not go wrong - we were close the food court and transportation. The rooms were great, clean and what a great family suite. I didn't know Disney had rooms like this. We've always just gotten a double bed room for my husband and I. This time we had our own special room with door. This was great, we had our little slice of privacy. Also, we ordered the Pizza room service and we were all surprised that it tasted amazing - we got the Meat Lovers one. It was really expensive but it was worth it as we were too exhausted to walk anywhere. You could just pick it up at the food court and probably save you some money. We didn't use the pool this time, but it looked great. We couldn't believe there were hardly any crowds at the parks, and we were grateful for the Bus transportation. We love using the buses to travel from park to park and hotel to park, our car never moved and we save a ton on gas. Staying on Disney Property is simply the way to go! Its really affordable at the All-Stars with our Passholder discount - we can't wait to go back in October (staying at Caribbean Beach) for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.

Room Tip: Get Preferred Room and stay in Calypso - close to food court and transportation.

We spend 1 night at this hotel on our way back from the cruise to New York (we traveled by car so were very flexible). We just decided to make unplanned surprize for our daughter and spend 1 day at Magic Kingdom park (she just loves Disne World!). So we called from the car and made reservation in 1 minute. The room was only $99 including tax. We decided to stay on the Disney property to take advantage of extended park hours and free car parking in the park. Even though our room was the farthest from the entrance it suited our needs. We only slept there.
The room was clean, standard sized, with queen size beds. The bathroom also was very clean and looked new. Our building was close to the pool. We didn't have time to use it, but it was big, clean and inviting.
The next morning we ate breakfast the the cafeteria. It had the same set of choices as the similar fast service cafeterias at Grand Floridian and Port Orleans (the other 2 Disney properties we stayed in before). The only difference - it is more crowded since it's the only food choice at this resort.

In conclusion I want to say that if you need budget friendly Disney property for 1-2-3 nights, just to sleep in, don't even look farther. It works fine. For us it was very good since we traveled by car and used park parking for free (as the resort guests). If we stayed outside the Disney, we would need to pay (it's $15 or $20 now?). And of course Extended hours! Our favourite feature!

Stayed with my children at the All-Star Music Resort August 29 - September 2, 2013. I will start with the positive. The resort is clean, the rooms are clean no dirty socks or feet when walking on carpet. The room has a small fridge and a flat screen tv with a variety of channels and very clear reception. Housekeeping is very friendly, helpful and accomodating. The 2 pools were both very clean and lots of fun. I checked in online and had a small issue which was resloved at the front desk. They have movies every night and different activities for the kids through out the day at the main pool.

Now for the not so good. The room is small, no different than any other low budget motel. The beds are rock hard, the pillows are way to high and uncomfortable to sleep on. The walls are so thin you can hear conversations and toilets flushing all night long. As mentioned in other reviews the cafeteria is not great, the food is not good the portions are small for the price being charged. The service is quick but it is a mad house, not any real fault of the resort itself though.

All in all for the price and staying on property I was happy. It has all of the Disney magic without the hefty price. The shuttle buses can get crowded but they do come around often and it is much better than having to drive. We had a great time and spent much of our day at the resort. The property is very large so expect to walk but that did not bother me since it is a very nice walk.

What can you really say bad about Disney?! We love Disney! My husband and I spent two nights recently at the All Star Music Resort prior to a cruise out of Miami. Although it is one of their lower priced places to stay ($106 per night) and the rooms are a little orangey and yellow decorated with lots of mickeys, it was clean, comfortable enough and definitely fine for a budget conscience family stay. The property pools were very nice and clean and the grounds were absolutely maintained, not a piece of trash to be found. There is a cafeteria/restaurant on the property, that will meet the needs of any family for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We had experienced a week long stay at this property last year when we took a vacation with our grandchildren, had a great experience then and knew it would suit our needs this short stay. I can't say enough about Disney's transportation system to reach all of their properties. If you don't mind using their busing shuttle system you can get wherever you want. We were able to even secure a shuttle from Disney All Star to Universal for $20 round trip each person. No need to rent a car, and they do shuttle to/from the airport. Great experience, would love to try a different property next time just to see what the differences are. Let's not forget the Disney staff, they were always pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Great job!

Room Tip: Pay about $10 more and request a room closer to entrance, unless you don't mind walking, it coul...

I would not stay here again! Only double bed, no microwaves, no fridge during our stay ( recalled ), very noise at night, too many people in a small area, have stayed at other disney properties and they are much better. This resort took the magic out of disney and I have no reason to return there again. This from a ten time tripper to disney world. This is very much a budget hotel not worth it!

This is our third trip to Disney. The 1st two trips, we stayed in moderate hotels. This is the first time we stayed in a budget hotel. We booked this hotel a week before the trip so we didn't have a lot of choice. I would say it was ok, definitely a good value for your money. I didn't expect anything luxurious because of how much I paid for the room. It is very basic. It's smaller compared to what we had before. I would say that the hotels in Marriott Residence Inn or Hilton Garden Inn has much much better rooms for the same price. But you have to take into consideration that with the price you are paying in Disney, your entrance fees to the parks are included already.
I didn't like the fact that the refrigerator was not working during our 5-day stay. It was difficult with a toddler who likes to drink milk. We have to go back and forth to the food court to get his milk. And we were located far from the food court so it was definitely a walk going there. The pool even if it was very big felt like it was too crowded. The same with the food court. But one thing is constant though, the Disney service is still the same throughout. Everybody is so nice and accommodating. I would say, I won't mind staying here again if I'm on a budget.

Disney service is great. Room was clean. Pools were clean. Food hall was like a school cafeteria. Housekeeping was great and made sure to leave some special for you each day. But It didn't feel magical. Just like another budget hotel and we were placed in a building so far in the back that we had to drive to the buses everyday. Not sure if the experience was worth the price.
