This was our first time staying at one of the 3 Universal hotels and let me tell you we wont ever be able to stay anywhere else! This place is gorgeous! Full of trees, plants, the surrounding is gorgeous. Check in was fast and we immediately went to the kiosk to get our express pass done. Our room was beautiful and bigger than average with a king size bed! The boat to the parks was nice but if it wasnt there, it took us less than 10 minutes to walk to the parks. What a perk! It was nice to have the express pass although the parks werent insanely busy. ALso, we were also allowed to go in the Harry Potter section at 8am, one hour prior to official opening. It was nice as we were able to ride the main ride 3 times in a row with minimal wait and have a butterbeer without waiting for long. Overall, this hotel is gorgeous but location and perks (express pass + early entry) is worth every penny

I stayed at the Royal Pacific because of the early entry and the express lines. It is overpriced but it has a very nice lobby, pool and restaurants. Service and maintenance is OK, but not to Disney's standards. The shuttle is useful.

My family and I stayed here for one night while we were visiting Universal Studios. The hotel looked beautiful online we were happy that it was within walking distance to Universal. We checked in about 9:00 am and our room was not ready - although I wasn't expecting it to be. We were advised we would receive a text when the room was ready. We planned on visiting the park and then would return to our room later in the day. We did not use the early admission to Islands of Adventure but we did pick up our Express Passes in the lobby. It was very easy and took less than 5 minutes. We used the walking path to Universal which was just beautiful. Very quiet and tranquil and was right next to the waterway that the water taxis use. It was a great start to our day instead of the usual parking hassle when we have to use the public parking. We visited both Islands of Adventure and Universal that day and the Express Passes were helpful. The parks were busy but not crazy busy. We took the water taxi back to the hotel and it was lovely as well. We missed the taxi by like a minute but another one came in under 10 minutes. The water taxi staff were pleasant and funny and it was really nice to sail for a few minutes after walking all day. I definitely recommend utilizing the walking path and water taxi as much as you can - it really is a nice benefit. We arrived at the hotel at about 3:30 and our room was still not ready which was a little surprising. Not a huge deal - we just asked for anything that was ready and were given a room right away. The room was cute, bamboo and nature type decor. Although there were some things that my husband noticed that probably should have been repaired. Large scratches on the walls, carpet fibers coming loose that should have been cut. Small things like that. Not a big deal but I think you expect more for the price that you are paying. My daughters used the pool which was nice and they had a great time playing on the boat with the water cannons. I liked the beach type entrance on one side and a duck joined them in the pool which they thought was hilarious! Not sure how clean this is but oh well, was still pretty funny! A staff member came to play games with the kids which was nice - there was two little boys who attempted to bring hula hoops in the pool and she immediately stopped them and made them take the hoops out as it could have been dangerous. I noticed it as well so I am glad she saw it and nicely but firmly made them take the hoops out. I wish people were a little more aware of what their kids are doing. There seemed to be quite a few parents who were too busy getting drinks and such to notice their kids being loud and obnoxious. But the staff did what they could, I guess.

We took the water taxi back to Universal and had dinner at Hard Rock cafe and then walked back using the walking path. Again, this is such a benefit! Loved it....

I wasn't happy with the noise level in the room. We went to bed about 10 and starting around 11, all you could hear was doors slamming, toilets flushing, etc.. Honestly, I didn't sleep much...Walls are pretty thin and if you are a light sleeper, forget it.... You won't be sleeping much.

I am also not too happy with the self parking. They have the valet lot next to the self parking so a lot of the rows seems to be blocked off? There didn't seem to be a lot of parking - my husband was trying to park the car for 10 minutes! Plus they charge for parking!!! Not cool...

Overall, it is a beautiful hotel. The common areas are lovely and the staff were all very nice. When we were leaving in the morning, the valet guys made a point to say good morning to my daughters and ask them if they needed help carrying anything. However, if they can make a few changes - it would be a fantastic hotel. Start with not charging for parking!

This truly is a micro climate. once inside you could be fooled into thinking you were somewhere in the south pacific. Although you are only a mile or so from the very busy International Drive, you have no sense of anything else being around for miles. if you are at the large spacious pool area, you may hear the occasional whoosh of the Hulk roller coater only a short boat ride away.

As my family are now all in their late teens, this place was ideal for them. we felt perfectly safe allowing them to travel on the resorts taxi boats to and from the Universal theme parks. this gave them the freedom they needed and us the relaxing time, without worrying about how to entertain them.

the resort itself is very clean and spacious, as are the rooms. All staff we encountered were very friendly and only too pleased to assist with any issues we may have had. the only slight down side is the car parking. the hotel is relatively expensive compared to similar ones I have visited. I would have expected the parking to be free to guests

Over all a great hotel in a great location if you like the Universal theme parks.

Aloha AlandChris1993!

Thank you for the FOUR out of FIVE rating on TripAdvisor! Upon arrival to the Islands, it’s easy to be embraced by the South Pacific theme and forget that you are in Orlando. It’s great to hear that every staff member exemplified true hospitality to you during your stay and that you found the convenience of transportation to the parks. Mahalo!

This was our second visit to this beautiful hotel. I had contacted the manager in advance in the hope of organising something special for my daughters birthday. He responded to my emails directly and was more than helpful. The staff in all of the different departments that we dealt with were most pleasant and always helpful. We had the character breakfast on Sunday morning and it was the best possible start to the day for my kids to meet The Minnions from Despicable me. The food was delicious. Our room was super with a lovely view of the fabulous pool - the pool is a magnet for the kids and there is a great atmosphere down there for all age groups. The location is fabulous - a 5 min walk to Universal or there are boat rides every 15 mins. The feeling when you walk through the door is one of tranquility - for such a popular hotel it is very calm and peaceful. Obviously the express passes for guests is a huge bonus as is that early entrance to Hogsmeade - you can get a lot done between 8am to 9am before the park fills up. We have stayed in the Disney equivalent - The Polynesian Hotel but we didn't even book in there this time because we'd rather spend extra time here. Can't wait to return again.

Room Tip: If you want to be near the pool ask for a Tower 3.

We stayed for 7 nights in June2014. Staff was very friendly and the room was adequate. There were 4 of us aged 55 to 15 and the beds being what I thought was supposed to be a queen were really more of a extra full. It was a good thing we brought extra cots because there was no way we could pay the$15 per day extra for one roll away, also no fridge or microwave unless pay $15 per day for that also.
I don't understand why a deluxe hotel that you pay a premium for has to charge for a fridge, microwave and parking per night. We have stayed in other hotels very close to the park for a lot less and have never had to pay for any of those. Extra bed I can understand but not the fridge, microwave or parking. I understand it's an on site hotel and there are perks such as Express pass and being close to the parks but I do think it is a little much. Also found out that the self park is also overflow parking for a venue and my husband had to wait for a space or we were going to have to pay for valet parking.
We will probably stay onsite again but it will have to be a few years before we can enjoy a visit to this hotel again. I really did enjoy it but was really disappointed at the extra cost, not that anybody at Universal cares about that. They are just in it for the money!

Room Tip: Bring a noise machine to block out noises and towers 3 and 1 are closest to the pool and walkways.

I booked this for my daughters graduation. It was actually three rooms with adjoining doors to the center "suite" room. Two queens on one side, king on the opposite. The suite part was huge! Awesome view of the pool. My daughter and her friends had adequate room and privacy and I had more than enough room and privacy. The suite had a very large table, tv and pullout couch AND a third bathroom which came in very handy when four girls needed to get ready. Nice kitchen and full size fridge. A bit pricey but the extras make up for it. Location, Express Passes, Service and Staff were top notch. Unfortunately was not able to try any of the restaurants but the pool was very nice and clean.
