Busy hotel. Rooms nice. Walking path to the parks makes it wonderful. Staff is friendly, most everything is well marked or explained. Wish there was a convenience store on site for milk and such. Will come back

We visited Orlando July 2014 so that our youngest child, 7 could experience Disney World for the first time. We also have [2] older children 18 and 12 that love Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure. We decided to stay @ Universal Loews Royal Pacific so that we didn't have to buy the Express Passes for 5 people (which was a savings of $1349.85 before tax for 5 people for 3 days). We absolutely loved the hotel.
We can't say enough about the staff at Loews Royal Pacific. Check-in was a breeze & the staff were so inviting. I booked the room online & purchased my tickets online. At check-in, I was asked for the number of Express Passes that we needed & within 10-minutes, we were checked in, received our hard copy park tickets (with our name), and we had our Express passes (with our photo). The hotel grounds are very nice & the walk to the parks early in the morning is very refreshing. The first night, we walked to City Walk and ate at Jimmy Buffet's Margaretville. The following days, we spent at the parks. We were at the turnstile waiting in line @ Island of Adventure. The staff was entertaining even at 6:30 in the morning. The Express pass worked wonderfully at Islands of Adventure. Not even a line for Harry Potter & The Forbidden Journey, so we rode it twice in the morning. The second day at Universal Studios, we were not as lucky. It was much more crowded at the turnstile and everyone walked straight to Escape from Gringotts. Which was completely understandable since it has just opened up. We waited it out, for about an hour and a half. It was worth the wait. The new addition to Universal will be something that my family will travel to Orlando to see again. It was amazing. Knockturn Alley, Diagon Alley, Grimmould Place, the Knight Bus . . . .on & on. I read the Harry Potter books to my oldest son when he was little, so we were most impressed. Universal Express lanes had a longer line than IOA, so we didn't get around to seeing everything & I blew right by the photo op w/ Bumblebee for my youngest son which I have regretted ever since.
We took a break in the afternoons & returned to the hotel, we ordered pizza from City Walk (Red Brick Oven - highly recommend) & took it back to the room. The afternoons, we spent at the pool. Pool Activities were conducted by Ms. Miranna. The kids loved her & always wanted to participate in bingo, water toss, and arts and crafts. (They also LOVED the peach smoothies & frozen grapes at the pool). Pool was A+ too.
The rooms were very nice, although we were not in the rooms a lot. We slept well & had no complaints of noise.
Our following day, we were off to Disney World - hotel, park, staff friendliness, "Fast Pass" - all fell short of our experience at Universal & Loews Royal Pacific.
I highly recommend Royal Pacific for anyone planning a family get-away to Orlando!!!

My family of four stayed here last week of July 2014. We absolutely loved this hotel. It is so beautiful and nicely decorated. The room was large and very clean, I thoroughly inspected it. We ate dinner downstairs twice and took advantage of happy hour once at the lounge on the third floor. Every one was friendly and knowledgeable of the food. I didn't even know about the character meals until I looked up and coming into the restaurant one evening was Kevin the Minion and Gru! That was awesome!! It is a short walk to the parks or there is water taxi's. We used both. And the extra perk of early park admission and unlimited express pass is worth every dime. We will for sure stay here again.

Great location for the parks - we stayed 4 nights to take advantage of the fast passes anticipating long ques in July. That is the plus side (doesn't cover you for Harry Potter and with 3 on-site hotels giving you early entry there were still ques of 2 hours at 7am ........... nuts !).

The hotel itself is well themed but the rooms are tired and claustrophobic. We were in tower 3 - beds had seen better days and they were 'revived' by using memory foam toppers which made then very hot. You will be charged $20 / night to self park and then they will bill you an additional 18% gratuity !!!. No fridge in room (well there is but again this is an additional $$$) and the prices in the bars and restaurants are in my opinion too high. Then there is the 'tipping; culture ................ I cannot get my head around having to pay $30 for 4 bottles of beer and then tip the bar server for taking the top off for you :-( . The pool seemed nice but was VERY busy. Staff were courteous

If you are travelling during peak season and looking for fast passes then it will work for you. Out-of-season when the parks are not busy then don't bother.

Average rating given because they sell this as a 'luxury' hotel but it really is far from that.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding your stay at Loews Royal Pacific Resort on Tripadvisor. Your detailed review provides great insight for the hotel to get the guests point of view of their experience. We are pleased that you enjoyed the on-site guest benefits. However, we are extremely disappointed to learn that you did not feel your experience measured up to the excellent reputation that we have earned on TripAdvisor. Please know that we operate with a high level of integrity and encourage guests to share their honest feedback. We are sorry that the décor and room accommodations were not to your complete satisfaction. Here at Loews Royal Pacific Resort, we take our guests feedback very seriously and we would like you to know that we have reviewed all your comments with our management team. In addition, your frustrations over our fees are certainly understandable. Unlike the majority of our closest Four-Diamond competitors, we have elected not to charge our guests an alternatively higher rate or, in most cases, daily resort fees. These resort fees cover a variety of services and amenities that may include parking, gymnasium usage and internet – amenities that a large number of guests will not utilize. As an alternative to such fees, we’ve built what you might consider an 'a la carte' menu of services – charging guests only for what they choose to utilize during their stay. As we are thankful for your feedback about our prices, we will take note of these areas for future occasions. We are glad you hear you enjoyed the location and proximity to the theme parks. We hope to welcome you back to Universal Orlando soon! Mahalo!

Hotel is nice, but very expensive for value received. Quality of food in on-property restaurants was average at best, but priced very high. You will get charged quite a bit for parking - be aware! loca

The Loews Royal Pacific hotel was very nice from a lobby, pool, and restaurant standpoint. As to be expected, the restaurants were expensive but the food was very good. I'm not sure the value was there, but it was helpful given the schedule of trying to do Universal.

The room was small and compact, but reasonable given the little amount of time that you are in the room. The Pool was a real highlight! It was great and my entire family enjoyed it as well as the activities around the pool.

The only negative comment that I have is that for the price that was paid to stay at the property, I think it was wrong that the fitness center was an extra charge. That should be included in the room cost.
