“Very nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

This hotel is about a 20 minute ride from the airport and depending on which park you go too its ten to twenty minute ride. you can also take the boat from this hotel. the buses between the hotel and the parks do run about every 15 to 20 minutes so you never really wait for a bus. the rooms are nice but I didn't like that we could only get two queen beds as I prefer a king size bed. My daughter when we are away likes to sleep with us and besides two queen beds take up the small room. there isn't a closet in the room there is just a bar that hangs in the bathroom. there are a few pools and they have movies outside and you can sit on the lawn. the staff is very nice and very helpful. everything is very clean.

Room Tip: try to get a room near the south bus stop. its a quick walk and usually the first stop to the parks...

We stayed here from 4/29-5/3. Myself, my husband & 2 daughters. The location of our room was perfect. We were in Magnolia Terrace room 8756, 2nd floor which was in Magnolia Bend. Room was really nice for a moderate. 2 queen size beds, one TV, 2 bathroom sinks with a large changing area, nice size refrigerator, microwave & coffee pot. The building has 3 floors & the building has an elevator which really helped with all our luggage. This room had all we needed to be comfortable after a long day at the parks. Originally we stayed at Pop to try a value resort & I have to say there is a huge difference. I felt like I was on vacation at Riverside. The location & surroundings at Riverside was relaxing. At Pop, the hotel was simple, lots of buildings close together, very, very crowded, loud, small beds and limited food options. It was so busy that I didn't find comfort for the one night we stayed which is why we upgraded our room the next day. At Riverside, the pools were beautiful. The main pool always had activities going on. Movies at night as well as a campfire. Our room was centrally located. It took about 7 minutes to walk to the main building. It was a beautiful walk over 2 bridges, passing the pool. We were exhausted as we experienced record breaking heat temperatures & our feet hurt from the day but the walk didn't bother us from this building. There was a beautiful gazebo with 2 winding staircases at our building. Also a very large quieter pool was next to our building & the bus stop was the East stop, located across the parking lot. We always walked over the bridges to the main building & used that bus stop location. It was crowded at times but we never had a problem getting a bus. They came frequently, no longer than a 15 minute wait. Crowded at night when you leave the parks but there nothing you can do about that when you leave close to closing. We were afraid to wait at our stop early in the morning & the bus be too crowded to board because it is the last stop before the parks. The stop at the main building is one of the firsts. We would get breakfast first, fill up our mugs & go. In the evening the bar gets very busy. Piano man plays & sings songs. Another nice retreat if you have a babysitter. There's a boat that will take you to Downtown Disney as well. It's a nice relaxing ride, better than a overcrowded bus. The staff was always pleasant, very welcoming & our room was clean.

We are buying into DVC soon so we may not stay here again but if given the choice, we definitely will. Try get a room away from Alligator Bayou. That is where we stayed 2 years ago & the rooms in Magnolia Bend are much nicer. Maybe a little longer of a walk than the preferred rooms at Alligator Bayou, but they are much quieter & the surroundings are more beautiful.

Room Tip: If you have a family of 4 & are contemplating on Value to a Moderate, go with a moderate. Even i...

April 2014 two week family holiday. We Loved our stay at port orleans riverside, it was everything we hoped it would be and much more. The rooms are spacious and spread over the riverside complex, I say complex but it's more like a country park. The grounds are perfect we just wish that our stay was longer as we could have easily spent more time at the hotel. We loved the open cinema, boat rides to downtown disney and the convince of the disney buses. The food was better than we expected as we had disney dining plan. This took a couple of days to get our heads round but once we worked out what was snacks and self service then it was great. We loved the magic bands, just one wrist band for key, park entrance and food. This worked out great especially with older children who wanted to choose their own food. I would defiantly return to disney and this hotel, for the extra you pay for disney compared to international you get so much more. Enjoy

We stayed 2 nights at POR last weekend in a royal room and loved it. Okay, I loved it more than my kids but they are boys and the royal rooms are very "princessy". Lol The resort is absolutely beautiful! It is also very large. We were in Oak Manor in the mansions section which was very convenient to the quiet pool, the bus stop, Boatwrights, the lobby and the boat for Downtown Disney. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows and bedding. We had nothing but excellent service from the time we checked in until the time we checked out. The pool and slide on Ole Man Island is great. We had breakfast in the dining hall and it was very tasty as was our dinner in Boatwrights.

Mousekeeping did a great job of keeping our room nice and clean.

Had a great time at Port Orleans Riverside !!

Stayed there in 1997 (was Dixie Landings at the time) and decided to try it with the kids last summer. At check in, we were upgraded to a Royal Room (9586). Not sure it would have been worth the extra money, but a nice touch to get it for free. The kids liked it.

The walk from the room to the lobby wasn't that bad. It's Disney, you're gonna walk all week so an extra 5 minutes at the hotel didn't seem like the end of the world. The lobby of the Port Orleans french quarter wasn't too far from our room so we sometimes took that bus to get back.

The boat to downtown Disney is a nice change from the bus. But from 6-8pm the wait was quite long, almost miss our diner reservation...

The kids liked the pool. The main pool was a bit crowdy so we mostly used the quiet pool next to our block...

Would be back anytime!!

Rooms were nice, Boatwrights dining hall had THE BEST food I have EVER tasted! The whole resort was nice.. had a large kiddie pool for my littles. The only downfall is everything is so spread out, but that wouldn't stop me from going back again! You can always upgrade to a preferred room! My kids loved the boatrides you could take to downtown disney... and loved seeing the horses that stroll around the grounds. Movies under the stars was also a nice end to the day!

Room Tip: You can upgrade to a preferred room to be closer to everything.. but we enjoyed the quietness of bei...

Just returned from an 8 night stay concluding in May, 2014. Got the Disney treatment being picked up at the airport and luggage was transferred by them to our room. Since we had no car the hotel reservation attendant noted where we were originally booked and independently changed our room right near where all the activities were. This was a 2 minute walk to the bus stop which took us to all the different theme parks and a 2 minute walk in the opposite direction to the themed pool and eating area. If you want to visit Downtown Disney (which is the place to be on any night of the week) instead of taking a Disney bus try a slow boat trip available to guests to Downtown Disney and back. Very relaxing and scenic on this 20 minute trip. In the latter part of the day horse drawn carriages are available to ride along the meandering paths featuring plantation and bayou style architecture.

This was our third time experiencing this particular property and have enjoyed all of them.

Room Tip: Rooms close to the reception area
