Stayed here over the Easter period for a few days after first staying at the adjacent Waldorf Astoria. Taken in isolation, the rooms, public areas, pool and bars are lovely, but (and I'm sure it's by design) everything is just down a notch from the sister Waldorf. The furnishings are a little less luxurious, bathrooms a little smaller, no turn down facility, no gowns and slippers and less of a 'wow' to the hotel interior.

Both hotels were built together and there are a lot of common fittings and features. I'm sure they were developed to cater for slightly different markets and I suppose you pay your money and you make your choice. I'd say the Hilton is probably better for families with young children - cheaper, better 'on the go' snack facilities and child friendly pool area. Not so sophisticated as the Waldorf.

Downsides?

- Big queues for breakfast while we were there. Stroll over to the Waldorf and you can choose your table, but a lot more expensive.

- No dining outside of the two hotels within walking distance.

I found housekeeping a little over-keen to get in the room at an ungodly hour. Whoever serviced my room also thought it okay to whack the aircon down to 63 degrees while she was servicing the room and then left it there!

All minor niggle though. Overall a great place and would stay again.

One other caveat, and it applies to the Waldorf and all other hotels attached to big conference venues in Orlando like the Hilton at the Orange County Convention Centre. The 'feel' of the place can change radically from one day to the next depending on what's going on in the conference centre.

While we were at the Walforf/Hilton there was a plastics conference for a few days, a big Jewish Passover celebration for a few days and nothing for a couple of days. The feel of the place and strain on different facilities swings markedly depending on what's going on. If you like continuity and to be surrounded by other families on holiday this may not be the right place for you. I quite like being in shorts while others are working but I can see it might not appeal to everyone.

Room Tip: Some rooms a LONG WAY from elevators (ours was!). Ask if that's likely to be an issue for you.

We stayed for a week during spring break. Fortunately it wasn't too crowded. The lazy river was awesome. The breakfast buffet was great. The "disney view" room was a little misleading. We were able to see the epcot fireworks a little bit, but definitely not he Magic Kingdom fireworks.

It was frustrating to be assigned a room the further distance from the elevator, we went down three long corridors before we arrived at the last room on the floor. When we returned to the front desk to ask for a different room, we were offered a different room for additional $20.00. After refusing to pay for a different room, the clerk reluctantly reassigned us a room in a different tower, that was much closer to elevator (from 11th floor to 10th floor) Have to question why we were not given the room on the 10th floor initially and why it felt as though the clerk was doing us a favor by giving us a room that did not feel miles away from the elevator, and had a nice view of the pool. The pool was very nice, and we loved the lazy river. There seemed to be adequate chairs for everyone and we never had a problem grabbing a lounger. The staff placed cards on chairs that indicated your items would be removed if you were gone for an hour (no chair saving). Although the notices were placed on the loungers, we never say staff actually remove property. Good scare tactic though. With regards to pool service, waited for over an hour for someone to take our order. I ended up having to walk over to the middle section of the pool, where there were many waiters, to ask an employee to send someone to our area for service. Many others in our area were finally able to place orders after a manager stepped in to help out. She was great; super efficient, and made our stay much more enjoyable with her professionalism. The breakfast was good, but wish they offered hand sanitizers as the main breakfast was a buffet, with many hands touching the serving utensils. Lastly, our room was nice; however, we were very surprised that the comforter on the bed was merely tucked between a top and bottom sheet. There was no comforter cover, and to us, that was unsanitary. I sincerely doubt that the comforters are washed after each stay, and if not, they are exposed to bodily fluids from other guests, as two sheets do not keep it contained. The comforter was easily exposed and it was not pleasant to wake with it touching us, knowing others had touched it too. We would not return to this hotel, and it did not seem to be a 4 star.

Clean hotel, spectacular pool, restaurant and snack bar inside. Close to Disney, great area. Beautiful place clean rooms, friendly staff.
Slight negatives are as follows:
No restaurants within walking distance ( except inside hotel $$$)
$13.00 per day parking fee
$10.00 per day Internet usage fee.
However everything here was spectacular. I'd stay here again for sure.

This is a magnificent property! The Hilton and Waldorf Astoria are connected by a very large conference center and all facilities are offered to all guests. We stayed two nights at the Hilton with our two boys. The Hilton offers a spectacular pool complex with two large pools (one is zero-entry), waterslide, baby pool, two spas, and a lazy river that connects the two pools. The landscaping is gorgeous. There are countless chairs but we realized that guests must come down in the morning and stake claim because finding one in the afternoon was difficult. Floats can be rented or purchased but are not necessary. There is a nice restaurant/bar pool side but waitresses around the pool deck were few and far between. Our room and the common areas were very clean. Here are a few things to consider: (1) This hotel has one bank of elevators on one end of the hotel. When the front desk person tells you that you have a bit of a walk, you will experience the longest walk in the history of hotels. If that is a problem, request one closer to the elevator. We opted for a higher floor with a better view that still wasn't so great. (2) While he was very nice, the front desk clerk was a bit clueless about the resort credit package under which we were booked. After bringing it to his attention and a few phone calls, we received an envelope with our Disney gift card (one) and a card acknowledging the resort credit. Prior to booking the hotel, I made two calls and reviewed the website to understand this package. I was told I would receive a gift card for each night booked but when we checked in that was not the case. (3) This was my biggest frustration. We ate dinner at Aquamarine at the WA. We ordered an appetizer of fries as we were starving. Then, both of my boys requested fries instead of fruit with their meals. When our meal arrived, we had FOUR appetizer sized orders of fries and a bill for $18 worth of french fries! When we questioned the waiter, we were told that one order came with my meal (a lobster wrap that in a court of law, I couldn't testify that it actually contained lobster); one was the app, and two were ordered by the boys and could not be substituted for the fruit. Thanks for telling us after the meal. Obviously, the WA doesn't cater to children because this substitution is common across the US. Would we return, absolutely. I think it is important to note that the atmosphere is very different at the two properties. All in all, a great find!

Room Tip: Close to the elevator

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in April over the Easter holidays. It was very busy but a great hotel. The pool area has a lazy river, which was nice. We had stayed at the Waldorf next door previous, which was also nice but the Hilton had more family amenities. We would definitely stay here again.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay near the Disney parks. While it is a couple of miles outside of the actual parks, they have a complimentary bus that comes every half hour to and from the hotel. It was very convenient and pretty fast. Furthermore, the hotel was spotless, the staff was wonderful, and the pool was the best part! The pool is extremely clean and offers a very relaxing lazy river. You can rent tubes for 5.00 a day and they have plenty of towels and seating, just get their earl enough to claim your spot! There is a separate kiddie pool and a hot tub for adults as well. The part the kids loved the most was the water slide. My five year old daughter was able to go down it with a life jacket and had a blast. This hotel is connected to the Waldorf as well. You can use their pool also and enter into their hotel right from the lobby. They offer higher end restaurants if you are interested. The Hilton has several eating options in low to high price ranges. Overall, this hotel was fabulous and this is coming from a self proclaimed germaphobe! I would stay here again and again!
