“Great place to stay outside WDW”
Reviewed 15 May 2013

PROs: While this is not within Walt Disney World Resort, the location is ideal if you're looking for a more exclusive place close to WDW. They provide high quality shuttle service until late at night if you don't have a car and give you a time schedule sheet upon check-in. The hotel and room are clean and spacious. We had a corner room so it was very quiet with a wonderful view of the pool. Service was very friendly - they even called after check-in to make sure we were comfortable. You can buy WDW tickets at the concierge (if you prefer convenience) so you can just hop on the shuttle and enter quickly at the parks. You can also walk and share amenities with Waldorf Astoria next door.

CONs: The shower pressure was very weak. Lobby/public area can get a bit noisy with work functions/conventions. There is a resort fee and you have to pay for self-parking. While the shuttle bus to WDW is comfortable, it may take upto 45 minutes to reach your destination as it makes stops at the different parks. You can always take a cab for closer places (Downtown Disney, Typhoon Lagoon waterpark) to save time if you don't have a car.

Overall, it exceeded our expectations of a Hilton chain. Waldorf has a more upscale vibe but Hilton doesn't lag behind much with its clean and comfortable atmosphere. The Zeta Bar sushi lounge on the lobby floor surprisingly had delicious sushi and rolls! I would recommend it over the buffet restaurant which was average. I would recommend to families who do not want to stay within the WDW complex.

Good hotel. It fully meets the expected standards. very good services. It misses a central lift (walking distances inside the hotel can be quite long). Nice view on the golf course. Convenient if you visit Disney. Not well indicated on GPS.

Stayed here for my honeymoon last week and had a great experience overall! The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice. My wife and I had a room overlooking the pool area and golf course and liked it a lot. The beds are comfortable and the TV is nice.

My only complaint is that you have to use a key card to get out of the parking garage, so if you forget yours and it's late at night the staff might not answer the call, as did in my case with my wife in serious pain and needing to go to the hospital.

Room Tip: A view of the pool and golf course is nice.

Beautiful property for conventions and great that it's close to Disney ! Beds were amazing ! Service was a bit spotty and regular waits for breakfast were a bit disappointing but food was good. Pool area is great. A bit surprised you have to actually buy tubes for the lazy river. Most places seem to provide. It's a very large hotel and feels that way.

I think the experiences at this hotel will differ based on purpose; conference/business vs. pleasure (DW). I would say the longer you are staying the better of a choice this is for families going to Disney but if you're doing a quick Disney tour, you might consider other options. We stayed 3 nights and I would rate it 3 1/2 based on a couple of factors.

Pros: Newer hotel, clean, comfortable beds, lots of on-site conveniences (ATM, Pool, Ticket Counter for Disney Attractions, Stores w/drinks,snacks, ice cream, multiple restaurants and shuttle to Disney), nice shower, good housekeeping.

Cons: I did not find the rooms tp be 'spacious'. TIP: if you have 3+ people you're going to want a room larger than the standard king. There are no mini bars in the room so don't think you can grab a soda at your leisure - there is a small fridge so stock up on drinks beforehand. Service at restaurant downstairs was good as far as polite staff but slow - the smaller your party the worse it was so if you're in a hurry to get out the door (catch the bus to Disney) let server know in advance, they don't check on you that often. Lots of extra fees tacked on that might make me stay elsehere next time (I prepaid for the hotel stay but they added add'l daily resort fees, taxes, gratuity, etc. While breakfast & dinner are "included" for kids when you purchase the $22 buffet for breakfast (i.e. $11/person) and a dinner entree - limited selection and >$22, so if you're a smaller party - split the pizza for <$15 to save $. I would not recommend purchasing your park tickets at the hotel - do your research before you go and save $$ by purchasing elsewhere.

Taxi: from Orlando Airport to Hilton runs about $65-70.

Shuttle Service: Really felt this deserved a separate line item. The pros are obvious - it's convenient getting from the hotel to the Disney resorts, with 2 departures an hour and they do leave ON TIME. I found some of the drivers to be ridiculously strict about asking for a hotel room card to prove you were a guest - it was inconsistent which made it more annoying, either make it a requirement or not (by the time I'm packed and ready to go with kids in tow for DW, I do not want to fish out my room key). In contrast, when they pick you up from the resort (DW) to transport back to the hotel they were often LATE and there are frequently multiple stops before getting to the Hilton (i.e. Epcot/Downtown Disney). This is an important factor if you have tired kiddos with you - don't assume you are going straight from the park (especially Magic Kingdom) to the hotel, as that is not the case. TIP: factor the time it takes to navigate through leaving the park/riding the monorail to get to the bus station. If you miss the bus, you're going to wait 30mins with your tired kids just to get ON the bus + travel time back to resort.

Room Tip: If there are more than 3 in your party, opt for something larger than the standard king.

. I booked a hotel for the mother's day weekend on hotwire looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel near Disney. We ended up booking the Hilton at Bonnet creek. The hotel was very, very nice in an all respects, and the staff was just amazing. By chance I stopped by the front desk to for help with a room key and had a cake in my hand, and they took the time to as what the occasion was and when I indicated it was my son’s birthday they later sent up a gift basket for him.

My kids loved the pool and the lazy river, and the room was clean and conformable. This location was great and the staff was wonderful. The hotel facilities have everything you could want or need. I probably would not have chosen this hotel on my own near Disney as we normally chose a Disney resort or the Gaylord palms which my kids also love, but this was a very pleasant surprise and I would go out of my way to book it again in the future.

One note if you use self parking, I found that the key card needed to be swiped back and forth to engage the gate at entry or exit.

I took my daughter for her 5th birthday to Disney World, and found a good deal at this resort.

The room:
-very clean and spacious
-Appreciated the cooling gel in the room

Pool:
-Fun! My daughter loves the Lazy River
-on our last day they had this fun BBQ party by the pool with many activities for the kids.

Dining:
-Breakfast was always good.

Property:
-Beautiful and Huge
-It has connection to the Waldrof so you are able to use the restaurants and facilities on that side as well.

The Parks:
-Are very close to the property, I would say no more than 5-10minutes drive.
-The resort has shuttles to the parks. But you can not be 30 seconds late because they will LEAVE YOU!

Shuttles:
-This is my only con in the whole trip. i absoultely hated running or rushing to make it there on time for the shuttle. Especially at night. There should be more times especially at night. I almost got stuck in Downtown Disney, because i missed the last shuttle by 2 minutes. Its literally drove off as we were walking. The driver was super sweet and after dropping off the guests at the resort came around to get us. I really appreciated that!! But if you are taking the shuttles make sure you memorize that schedule! and plan accordingly!

Staff:
-Amazing!!
-Every one was very friendly and so helpful.
-In the room, on my daughter's birthday, they left a cupcake with a card wishing her happy birthday. Definitely know how to make you feel welcomed!

Overall, this resort is beautiful and very convienient. I absolutely loved it. I recommend it if you are looking for a great place to stay in Disney world without having to spend too much staying at a disney resort.
