“An escape from the Mouse”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014

Much as I enjoy the Disney offering, even the top end Disney hotels are too heavily themed for my taste. They have nothing to compare to this property which is stylish and luxurious in the typically understated manner of the chain. We only stayed for one night on our way through from family in Pasco County back to the UK but it was very enjoyable. The room was lovely with all the expected special touches. After an initial difficulty in getting a reservation, we had dinner at the Bull and Bear, which was the only disappointing part of our stay. The restaurant is too open and soulless - a bit like a large meeting room with partitions and dining tables. The staff were lovely despite rather strange 80's boxy suit uniforms. The food was great but the room lacked atmosphere, interest and proper thoughtful styling to suit the high end nature of the hotel and the high end prices.

I had tried posting a review before but had a subpar internet connection. However my stay was worth the extra effort to write another review.

If you're coming down to visit for Disney, but also want an escape from the crowds, this is the hotel for you!

It was a long flight with a delayed connection and some very tired children, but when we arrived at the hotel it was like a weight had been lifted.

I paid the upgrade price for the Disney view and it was well worth it. I highly suggest it if your kids like fireworks!

The breakfast buffet is pricey but delicious, we only ate there one morning but it was worth the money.

Everyone from the valet to room service made us feel special which was very nice.

The pool and bar are a great choice for a day away from the parks. Someone who stood out was Kyle, he took care of us from start to finish during our time at the pool. He did everything from putting lounge covers on our chairs, to taking our order. He made our time at the pool very enjoyable!

My family and I hope to return at the end of this year.

I was very impressed with my recent visit to the waldorf. The service and ambiance is exquisite as one would expect from a Waldorf. What I was pleasantly surprised to discover was the quality of the bus service to Disney parks. While I would like to see more frequent service to epcot, Hollywood studios, and animal kingdom (service every hour with some gaps) the service is great to Magic Kingdom (every half hour). The busses are very nice and clean and we were always able to find seating even though the bus is shared with the neighboring hilton. Perhaps the best hidden aspect to the park service is the busses have the best charter spots (typically #1 except at Hollywood studios) and you don't have to deal with electronic wheelchairs. I vastly prefer the waldorf charter bus service to the disney bus service provided for the Disney hotels. Overall I highly recommend this hotel. It's great for a relaxing pool vacation (you also have access to the Hilton's pool and lazy river) and the best hotel for Disney parks.

Beautiful grounds, attentive service and very comfortable suites. We have young children but felt protected from the typical Disney trappings and could focus on true family time in great comfort. We stayed over a very busy weekend and were impressed with the service although room service was slow and pricier than comparable hotels.

I stayed here back in October for the sole purpose to propose to my now wife. I got in touch the with personal concierge service and they made every idea I had become reality. From the champagne to how i wanted the room to be set up and especially the valet for knowing that I had already had been there earlier to set up the room and pretended to go over everything with me again so my now wife would not be suspicious. Many thanks to the Waldorf staff and all their hard work to make this day great.

From the moment we drove up Friday night, until we left Monday afternoon, my wife just kept saying she couldn't believe how great a property this was. That did it for me. I travel (as evidenced by my reviews) multiple times a year to destinations globally, but nothing has ever come close to this property.
The rooms were amazing; we paid the $10 for the upgrade to the 15th floor with a view overlooking Epcot, the golf course and the amazing pool and cabana facility at the hotel. You can see almost all the Disney parks from your room with stunning sunsets. The room was huge, with very plush beds, and a bathroom three times the size of normal hotel bathrooms. Toiletries were very high end as well. Turn down service nightly with fresh ice was also a treat.
The breakfast buffet was a very strong layout, though Oscars restaurant could provide a bit quieter atmosphere. That being said my wife and I took our breakfast outdoors with a nice view of the pool. Again the selection and quality of the food was amazing. I believe he was a manager, but Kyle was very helpful and Juan was a tremendous service agent there at Oscars.
The lounge on the main level was also a key for us. We enjoyed three evenings relaxing after trekking all over the parks, Winter Park and the malls. Jessica, who was our primary server is truly a star in the crown here. Amazing service, great attitude and a joy to talk with. Rinata (sp?) was also of similar caliber.
Overall would strongly encourage each of you to take the opportunity to stay here if you have the opportunity. The level of service is second to none, the quality of the property is amazing and location is perfect. My wife and I will be back no question.

Room Tip: Higher level provides much better views of the surrounding area.

The staff is awesome - professional but very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel, especially if you want to be near Disney without all of the Disney hype.
