We stayed in a one bedroom villa. It was clean and spacious. The property is lovely. The only downside was that the resort is very large, so the buses made several stops. It is really more of a personal preference than anything wrong with the resort. I prefer smaller resorts, but I'm glad we gave this a try.

What a waste of money. The place is old and gross. I don't ever feel like coming back to Disney again. I can't believe what I paid for this place. I just tried moving to another hotel and they are booked. We will try to avoid the hotel as much as possible on this trip.

Fantastic hotel and staff, I can't find one bad thing to say about this Disney resort. If you have the extra money this is where you want to be.the out door arena has a Disney film each night for you to watch. Also shuffleboard, chess, and a craft room. My two made me a cusion for my back. So much to do you don't even have to leave the resort. You can have garden grocer deliver food for you if you have a roo$ with a kitchen. This place is just amazing.

My family and I are Disney Vacation Club members and just recently spent a week at Disney's Old Key West. The rooms and grounds are in desperate need od a renovation. The floors in our room (1 bedroom villa) was disgustingly dirty. Our feet and socks were constantly black from the dirt. There was dust everywhere, literally piled in the corners as if the room hadn't been swept or vacuumed in weeks, maybe months. We saw a cockroach in the shower stall. There was a hornets nest on the outside. Patio chair. At the pool, there was a large clump of hair floating in the pool on Monday, when we returned to the pool on Friday the clump of hair was still floating in the pool. The umbrellas in the pool area were black with mold. We were very disappointed and will not be returning to Old Key West in the future.

We have been members of the Disney Vacation Club for over 20 years and have always loved going to Disney World. Although Disney remains a step above nearly every other place, Old Key West is starting to show it's age. Based on what we pay for annual dues and looking at the annual financial report I would think what we just experience should not be happening. Our family had two units (two bedroom units in Buildings 12 and 13) recently. The dining table in one of the units was so wobbly dishes would slide if you touched it on one side. The dining chairs in the other unit were almost broken - backs weak. In one unit the counter top material was chipped, the floor was so dirty that when we went barefooted we had to wash our feet! The towels they provide now are way less quality than in the early years. Don't misunderstand; we will go back - we always do. The staff is great. But you need to be aware that Disney is NOT what it used to be (you wouldn't know this unless you had been going there since the 1970s). We started going to Disney the year the first park (Magic Kingdom) opened and have visited over 35 times. We love it. But hate to see that now it's all about the dollar. Walt must be rolling over in his grave. Let's hope Old Key West will take a serious look at each and every unit in detail. I think part of the problem may be that the housekeeping staff doesn't look at things closely and report problems such as those we found. Also, it would be nice if the sheets fit the king size bed and didn't come loose and wrap around your feet each night (that is if you are 6 ft. 5 in. like me!)

Room Tip: It's good to request a room near the Hospitality House (Buildings 11-14) as they are near the ma...

Quiet low key atmosphere, beautiful grounds and key west architecture, very relaxed. Perfect for our family of 5. 1 bedroom villa huge with full kitchen and eat in area living room and king suite with whirlpool tub and shower. Full w/d convenient and love being able to have snacks and light meals in the room. Stayed in quiet corner villa near waterway to downtown Disney and loved having smaller pool next to us away from busy and noisy main pool near Hospitality house. Buses ran frequently to theme parks never had to wait more than 10 minutes. Gym is very small and packed at 6:30am especially if you want to use any free weights. By 8am gym crowd was more cardio users.

I would like to give a review of the Old Key West and our 5 day stay.
We really enjoyed our stay, The staff were extremely courteous and friendly.
We have ascertained that the people in Orlando are very friendly from the time we landed at MCO. We used transmax transportation for our roundtrip, since they offered a free 30 mins. grocery stop. This was extremely convenient.
Our 5 days was very enjoyable and would do it again sometime in 2015.
