I would not stay on the main strip there if it were free. Some nice places, but traffic (car & people) and safety are my concern. Maybe further down toward the Convention Center next time or just another spot all together like BVista area.

Thank William G

We have stayed on IDive many times over the years. Usually the South end. Over the last few years everything is really started to come together. The whole area seems to have improved. It's taken a little time but it's getting there. With the Mecardo gone and most of the Wyndham the area needed new businesses. The Orlando Eye is well under way with the Yardhouse open and very busy, and just a few yards away Outback Steakhouse is about to open these are on the site of the old Mecardo. Just on up Idrive next to Ripleys there's a new LongHorn Steakhouse open with all the landscaping, pavements and new buildings the whole way to Sand Lake Road the tennants I noticed so far next to Longhorn are O'Neills Surf Shop, Red Robin Gormet Burger,Cold Stone Creamery/Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Chuys Mexican restaurant BJs Brewhouse and finally a new Walgreens on the corner site of IDrive and Sand Lake Road.
Further North a new Applebees has also opened. There are improvements taking place just past Wet and Wild to the roads, hopefully it will be finished soon.
With great places to eat and shop and walk around with all the improvements, this a great place too stay.

i drive is great for just wandering up and down or hopping on and off the i trolley, lots of shopping but look around for the best bargains, plenty of eateries to pop in and cool off in, evening time is a good time for exploring this area

Maybe it's worth driving Int'l Drive if one's looking for a certain attraction in the area, but just cruising its length to see what's there was pretty much a dud. Tacky shops, lots of traffic (watch for pedestrians!), lots of construction on the northern stretch, and nothing to see once you get down south past the convention center.
Okay, driving by the upside-down Wonderworks building near the intersection with Somoan Court was kind of cool -- but that's about it.
Save your time and gas for places where you know you want to go.

Pretty much everything can be found here... restaurants aplenty which means you dont have to travel far from any of the parks!
