“Great Location”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

Having read numerous reviews before our holiday, we were slightly nervous of what we would find, however we loved the room, yes slightly dated, but it was spotless. We had a 2 bedroom suite, kids loved their room and our bed was so comfortable.Showers were fantastic,to be honest we had no complaints as we were on a budget it was more than adequate for our needs. On our days off we spent some time at the pool, which the kids loved,we got up 1 morning to see the area being cleaned by some large industrial hoover.Big thanks to Sheena who was so helpful when hiring a car,in fact the staff were fantastic including Raul the maintenance man who i kept bumping into in the lift.As for Terry the bu driver, man young son thought he was fantastic, how anyone can be so cheerful all the time is beyond me. Yes the decor does need looking at but then if was updated would we have been able to afford to stay there?the outside was so well maintained all in all we had a great time and would stay here again no problem.

Good value, stayed here several times over the last 10 yrs. Its very good value. Clean, tidy, central to International Drive and close enough to ALL attractions to get to by Public transport or drive to. Its dated in the decor dept and hasnt changed in 10 yrs, but weve returned time and time again, so it cant be too bad.It could do with being uodated but that would result in the prices being upped. On the downside are the beds. It can be hit & miss as the mattresses are very used and soft. There not just soft mattresses, there beyond use as you both roll into the middle as the springs are too worn. This has been our experience on more than one occasion.

This hotel is ideally located for access to all the parks, it has all you need for your stay but décor is very dated. The hotel staff are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience they can offer. The breakfasts are good and offer plenty of choice if you opt for the hot breakfast. It was great to have the option of heated indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool. Stayed here for 9 nights in one of the studios, great having full size fridge and separate seating area and balcony, although didn't look out too much. Didn't bother as you are too busy and don't spend much time in the rooms anyway. Honestly if I was going to book another holiday I would probably choose somewhere else on International Drive. The only down sides were the noise from the fridge and the bed was far too soft.

Room Tip: I stayed in block 3, views are probably better from blocks 1 or 2.

Just left this hotel today and was glad to go. Having stayed in Orlando many times this was one of the worst rooms I have stayed in. Room needed updated the lighting was terrible very dull. We arrived late at night and got to the room sat on the bed and the base was falling apart and creaked like mad. Next morning we reported it to reception went out for the day and when we returned still not changed the base . So phoned down to reception again and eventually they changed the base. The TV in the room had movies to rent but if you were not careful and hit the wrong button as we did twice they charged you 40$ for the two movies that we never watched. But my husband was in the restaurant in the hotel and one of the girls that worked in reception was asking how we were enjoying the hotel and when he said about the problem with the movies she removed it from our bill so thank you Christina.

We spent 2 weeks here in November,we have always stayed on International Drive whenever we visit Orlando, and have been to various hotels. This hotel does not make out its a 5 Star. The location Is perfect, having read a few reviews at the time of booking we were a bit doubtful,I emailed the hotel and asked for a room in Block 1 on a high floor,we got a brilliant room with a great view.I had sent a few emails to the hotel, asking various questions and always got a good response from Hannah.
Yes the hotel is a condo where the owners update the rooms. We could not fault our room,it was clean, all the kitchen equipment was clean,no horrible smells. The fridge was quiet(perfect for getting some drinks from Walmart),compared to some we've had that rattle away at night waking you up.The bed was comfy. Some rooms are smoking & non smoking,so it might be worth contacting the hotel before you travel if you have a preference. The hotel is 2 min walk off I-Drive so the traffic noise level is quite.
The pool is good, very clean,we never used the heated indoor pool.there are towels provided by the hotel for the pool,so no need to use the room towels as some people did.
It's a very friendly hotel, all the staff we met from the reception desk to the maintenance guys were very friendly & chatty.
The only incident we had was on returning to the room one evening fairly late we noticed a wet patch in the ceiling tile, called reception to ask whats the best thing to do,leave it until the morning or have someone look at it now,as we didn't want to drag someone out when it could have waited, well no problem the maintenance guy was in the room within 5-6 mins fixing the air con drain off, that was impressive,he kept apologizing,we explained its just one of those things,it wasn't his fault.
We went to the continental breakfast once, the coffee was nice, but hardly anything to eat,a few tiny muffins, you could pay more for a cooked breakfast,we chose to go to Denny's,or the Black Angus Steakhouse.
The rooms are cleaned and towels swapped every 3 days, you can leave a card on the door to have them changed sooner if you wish, but to be honest they don't need to be done daily.
Yes the corridors are slightly dark and the carpet isn't the best, but as long as it's clean I don't see this as a issue when you walk to your room.
Someone complained about loud music by the pool, there are 2 outdoor pools, and music was played at the one we used the most which was near reception & the gym,the music wasn't loud at all,it was just background music, and as our room also overlooked the pool we couldn't hear it from the room.
There are a few good places to walk to for food and drink,Chillis very good food & happy hour all day, very reasonable prices for the food,Buffalo Wild Wings,it's a sports bar,can get very busy, but it's a great place, got to love those wings.
Universal Studios is about a 35-40 min walk,so rather than drive and pay for parking or getting a taxi just walk it,it's very easy to get to,and the roads/pavements are all lit.Never felt it a problem walking back at nighttime.
The hotel does have its own transport, they can book for you,we went to watch The Magic again and used the taxi to and from downtown Orlando, couldn't fault it all,a reasonable price for the distance, and we were advised probably safer for a late night return.
If you've never seen a Basketball game it's a great evening for anyone, family's etc and tickets can be as low as $15.
We've noticed that parts of I-Drive have gone downhill since we visited 2 years ago,but we still like it as you can walk to quite a few places without having to drive or use the I Trolley.
We didn't book with Virgin Holidays as it worked out dearer, but a lot of guests were with Virgin and they didn't complain about anything.
We would like to say a special Thank You to Hannah,Kevin & Sheena for making this such a great stay,we will definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor overlooking the lake in a upgraded room

We have been to Florida 8 times and always used Virgin, I would not use anyone else for Florida. This was the worst place ever! On arrival we were told where our suite was and which building, but on arrival there had no idea which floor we were on until some kind soul leaving the lift told us we were on the 7th floor! The suite was clean but tired looking with torn nets and dining chairs with paint scuffed off them. It was very basic and I would not have cooked in the kitchen! We were told we would only have a maid every 3 days, and when they did turn up it was between 4.30 and 5.30 just as we arrived back to shower for our evening meal( I once refused them entry) the second time we went back out for a while. The air conditioning noise was horrendous, waking us up all hours of the night, and the pool music left on till midnight even though the pool closed at 10.00, we had to call every night to ask them to turn it off so we could sleep! The breakfast was poor, and if you went down after 8.45 hardly any cooked was left.On the whole the staff were friendly and helpful, but when we booked the Disney shuttle for 3 of us to go to Hollywood Studios we paid 38dollars and were dropped at Epcot and left to make our own way there and back to Epcot for pick-up! We never complain and hate doing so, but Virgin are usually brilliant. Also we have always had good reps the ones here were not,not booking what we asked or contacting us as promised, so we ended up doing it ourselves. We will definitely return to Florida and use Virgin, but NEVER will we return to the Enclave Suites! One more gripe! During our whole 14 night stay our sheets were never changed!

Room Tip: Ask not to be near the pool as the music goes on till midnight!
