“Great place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2014

There are many wonderful things to say about this hotel. Would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat. Checked in on August 12-17. There is a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival.

Rooms: Really clean, modern and nice. Upon turning on the t.v your name appears on the screen (kinda neat). An upgrade will get you a room facing the direction of Disneyworld where you can see the fireworks from your window. The room is equipped with great teas and coffee.

Amenities: There is a daily resort fee (I believe it was between $20-30). I really wish hotels would charge this in the booking fee. However, this hotel deserves this fee in every sense of the word. BIG size pool w/ a slide. There is plenty of room to find a quiet place. No need to save beach beds as there is a LOT of them. They are super comfy, fluffy and big.

You can kayak on the lake or take any other boat that is available out there, for as long as you want. You can go wall climbing wall, golfing, biking or play tennis (among many other things). Great amenities.

Shuttle: There are numerous shuttles going out to all the major attrractions.
Disneyworld, Studios and Outlets. Book the shuttles ASAP as they go book up quick. The concierge will say to book 2 hours in advance, but I recommend at least a day in advance to avoid dissappointment (especially to the Outlets).

Food: There is Starbucks coffee at the Café located on the main floor. Their coffee (regular and specialty) is surprisignly great.

Cascade American Bistro – Had the breakfast buffet. Lots of choices (healthy and not so healthy). There is a pancacke & omlette station.

Palm Café – Great club sandwich and great drink menu

Hemingways - Had the tuna, it was unbelievable. One plate had 2 really big pieces of tuna and it tasted devine. Everything the waiter brought out to near by tables looked fantastic. The service here was beyong my expectations. Seriously. Don’t forget to leave room for dessert. Your waiter will bring out the choices. If you are a the Key Lime Pie fan, you will NOT be dissappinted.

The spa is currently under renevations, but upon booking the website did not mention this. In its place I found a description that its a, “luxurious spa”. They have a salon operating until its ready. Decore wise, it was a huge flop and I was highly dissappoinmted as it was one of the things on my list to do. The hotel manager gave me a $100 gift certificate towards food at Hemingways because of it and she also sent us her favorite appetizer upon arrival. Super nice. Service at this hotel is pretty incredible.

Car Rental: Hertz operates in the lobby and it was really expensive. I received a $100 quote for a day. Called Dollar Car Rental. They picked me up, drove me to the neighbouring hotel where my car was - $29 done.

Concierge Desk: Staff was really helpful and very nice. They will help you get set up with whatever you need. Used them every day :)

Disney Parks Discount: The hotel offers a nice discount on a 3 Day (or longer stay).

Great place. As I mentioned, would definitely stay here again :)

Room Tip: An upgrade (upon check in) will get you a view facing the Disneypark location. At night you can watc...

Big bold and plenty of space. This hotel has plenty of space 800 plus rooms, lots to offer the kids with the aquatic side right up there ally.I would think most the hotels in Orlando cater for the families.
The negatives are Orlando is spread out so walking around is near impossible,so the need of a car is essential,or pay for taxis or town cars to get you to your locations.
Hotel staff were spot on and very helpful,a little tip is when checking out and you are flying, let the bell boy do the booking on your ticket at the hotel, our guy did a brilliant job on a long weekend and we got thru the usual delays at the airport in a breeze.

Room Tip: Try for a room facing the pool and lake.

There are so many GREAT things to say about this hotel, but the cons were too big to completely overlook. First the bad:

Hidden fees!!! $25/day resort fee. $25/day parking fee (valet) or $17 (self park). Plus a parking tax! An extra tax on their extra fee (!!!!). So plan to spend an extra $50/day over your quoted rate. Overpriced food too. $70 for a $20-value meal at the poolside bar.

A few other cons: pool-side bathrooms were filthy. Should be cleaned every 15 mins with that many wet people using them. Also, you have to walk through a wet, dripping "grotto" to get to the health club. So wealth club floor was wet.

Final con: pool service allows people to claim pool chairs at the crack of dawn. We were one of only two families in the pool at 8:00 am, but 100% of the shaded pool chairs were already "reserved" with towels and gear for people who had gone back to bed. This is 2-star behavior for a supposed 4-star place.

Now the pros! Lots of them. Although the outside looks 70's, nothing about the hotel is. The rooms were updated and lovely. They were also very clean. The lobby is great.

The pools are FANTASTIC for kids. I couldn't imagine better kid-friendly swimming. A cold pool and a heated pool. Bridges, slides, caves. Lots of shade. Pools are excellent!! Great faculties with walking paths and trails. So much to do.

Service was overall very good.

Love the coffee ladies. They're awesome!

We stayed here with friends one week ago. The hotel rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated, staff were very friendly especially the concierge. The pool area is very attractive with lovely comfy sun beds. We had breakfast included but by day 5 we were bored. Same food in same display every day. The dining room carpet needs replacing as there is a nasty smell of vomit when you sit in certain areas. Very convenient location for parks and restaurants. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Higher floors have a view of the fireworks.

Thank you for taking the time to review our resort and offer a five point rating. We are glad you enjoyed our rooms and had a pleasant experience with our staff. The problem you encountered at the restaurant has already been taken care of. Thank you for also noting that you would recommend us as well. It is truly appreciated.

I have been staying at the Hyatt for well over 3 years now and by far was very disappointed with this visit. The room itself was very dirty. We complained to housekeeping who didn't seem to care. When we checked out we also reported our issues to the Front office agent who said that they would email me with a resoloution. Waited for a week and still no reply. So decided to give them a call. Spoke to Molly (front office manager) and she said that I should have reported the issue to housekeeping. .. of which I did several times. All she offered me was gold passport points. Fair enough, I thought I should settle it at that. Its been almost 2 months and they still haven't bothered to credit the points to my gold passport.

Overall a bad experience. ... should I give them another chance?

Wow. Very impressive venue.
King bed room was large, very clean and fantastic view of pool.
The pool is one of a kind. The caves, waterfalls and grottos look really cool. Water slide, hot tubs, real wood fire pit at night.. Didn't want to leave hotel for work. When the kids come they probably won't want to leave for Disney. Glass of Champagne upon arrival is a nice touch. Looking forward to next visit.

It is always nice to read that a business traveler had such a great time, s/he wants to come back with the family. With so many kid friendly things to do, they won't want to go anywhere else. Thank you for your five point review and letting the readers of this forum know that when they are thinking of a resort destination here in Orlando, they should consider staying with us.

Beautiful atrium, we were eelcome with champagne and juice for the kid. Room is clean and big, bathroom is updated and clean as well. Great views, recreational area for kids and adults 10/10. Customer service is great. Expect the typical resort fee.
