Hotel is very clean, well kept. Grounds are spotless and kept remarkably clean. Personnel are all kind, friendly, and helpful for the most part. We stayed in a 1 bedroom lake view suite at the Bay Lake Tower. Awesome view. The room suite was spacious, with 2 bathrooms ( one being a master bath with a full whirlpool tub , separate shower room. ) a full kitchen with a dishwasher, full size fridge , stove, microwave. All possible utensils, pots and pans.all of which were clean, and looked new. Complimentary dish detergent, dishwasher pods. Only trial sizes, but it should last the week. Washer and dryer, also with trial size detergent. And , of course , your typical bathroom supplies. Beds were probably the most comfortable hotel beds i've slept in. housekeeping comes once every few days in this building, since its timeshare. So don't expect them daily. we used the provided vacuum or mop, if we felt it needed it. towels are available everywhere, so if you're in need, the housekeeping carts are everywhere. I am not one to complain about trivial small issues like a stain in the carpet, a scratch on the furniture, spider webs, or dust. If there was any of this stuff,I probably didn't notice And didn't give it a second thought, as I am a realist and know that this place is a venue used 24/7 365 days a year, non stop. If you encounter an extraordinary circumstance, like vomit, or blood, bugs, etc..keep in mind it is more than likely an isolated issue, and not the norm. Given the circumstances of how busy this place is, it is amazingly clean, well kept, and organized. Anyone who nit picks the little stuff is just being a bit neurotic, or looking for something for free.

With all this being said, I did have just 2 issues with my stay...

1 ) upon arrival at 9 am, We were greeted from the Disney express airport shuttle by a hotel employee as soon as we stepped off the bus. Brought us right to the desk, where check in was quick, and friendly. Now, the problem...we had a sick child ( whom had gotten sick on the flight ) and the contemporary personnel were made aware of this. Because of this, They had promised us accommodations until our room was ready. Needless to say, we were never given these accommodations, and were forced to spend the next 6 1/2 hours on the hotel couch waiting for our room, with a sick child , no access to our luggage , and no place to go. ( it was pouring raining all day) asking all day when our room would be ready, l was never given a straight answer, or other accommodations I was promised upon arrival. By the time we settled in, everyone was wiped, tempers flared, and the trip started off on a bad note, with No apology , or attempt to make good for the inconvenience by the hotel personnel.
2) the meal plan...it is unwritten rule that you need reservations in order to guarantee getting seated in table service restaurants . So we attempted reservations 3 weeks prior to our trip. We were successful for the most part , except, when we attempted to make dining reservations at some places, like T-Rex cafe in downtown disney, i was told there were no openings at all , on any day. We eventually were able to make reservations at rainforest cafe in downtown disney, at an odd hour because, there were supposedly no tables available there at decent times either. So we go to downtown disney to spend the day. A lot earlier than we had wanted to , in order to make our dining reservation, only to find that both places were completely empty! Not just at the time we arrived, but ALL DAY LONG. I counted 80 tables empty at T-Rex cafe. that's right , "80".....95% empty. This is the place that was supposed to be booked solid, all day, every day that week. Very disappointed . When asked if they were expected to get busier, the staff told me they were slow all week. when asked why i couldn't get a reservation, i was told that people make multiple reservations at different places , As a backup . Therefore , people make backup reservations with no intention of going , knowing there is no penalty. So the computer thinks the place is booked, and its really not. There is obviously something very flawed with reservation system, so be advised.

With the exception of these 2 complaints, we still had a great time.

I had been looking forward to trying this hotel for a while. I love the disney property hotels and always recommend them. This is a great hotel for those with a family (and really the purpose of the Disney Vacation Club hotels) but if you traveling as a couple and plan on eating out and such pick another hotel in my opinion. Here is why:

My pro's
- Nice and close to see the night-time fireworks, sound is pumped into the rooms
- Short walk to Magic Kingdom so you can avoid those long waits for the monorail
- New & Modern

Con's
- Wasn't as clean, I think thats because most people are DVC and are responsible for their own cleaning
- No in-house facilities for things like dining / gift shop / etc...
- Everything is shared with the contemporary (which adds more load to its facilities)

Room Tip: Rooms higher up have a better view of the fireworks in the magic kingdom. Pay extra for the Magic K...

Loved our visit to disneyworld and stay at bay lake towers. Our accommodations included two large bedrooms(each with its own bathroom) sharing a large living space with full kitchen and additional bathroom. Wonderful pool area ( though the water could be heated more) convenient to magic kingdom which is where we spent our time with a 3 & 5 yr old.

Would not recommend the free Disney magic bus from airport. It took over 2 hrs after landing in Orlando to get to our hotel. They need smaller busses that go to individual hotels and can run more often ( or tell people to get off at the first stop and take the monorail to individual hotels)

Would not recommend dining plan. The plan is too rigid. Lunch and dinners both include dessert, not able to substitute a salad or appetizer.. Too many quick meals went unused and not enough table service meals provided( most better restaurants use 2 meal points, we ran out of dinners midway through our stay and had 25 snacks still available)

You must plan for this trip as Disney allows resort guests to book reservations 180 days in advance. All restaurants and experiences are booked. Hard to know what you'll want to do 6 months in advance but you must have a plan or you'll be very disappointed

Room Tip: We chose park view so we could watch fireworks with little ones

We stayed at Bay lake for 10 days the last week of Nov-Dec 2013,
We had a very fun time with Edward at check in! He was very accommodating of my many requests. When you book with Disney you can make "requests" none of which might be honored. I (admittedly) make very specific requests. (NONE of which were honored initially). We are seasoned Disney travelers and I have learned to be a little anxious re my room requests. If I am going to be spending 10 days in a room I would like it to have a great view above most else. I had requested a high floor, lake view and a room number ending in even number, North Tower. The reason for this is you will have a combination of lake/and magic kingdom with this combination,,, and be high enough above the trees to see the magic kingdom and night fireworks. Well, what they had for us was even numbered/lake view but the 4th floor. My husband thought this would be fine,, but we walked around to see the area and found out we would be looking at trees! So, Edward found us a 14th floor/even numbered BUT on the opposite side of the building. (South Tower) I was so disappointed at first, but when we got our room it had a crazy wonderful view of Bay Lake, the boats and in the distance could see the Epcot Ball. We were able to watch the comings and goings at the Contemporary/the monorail and the boats etc on the seven seas lagoon. Once we were rolling with our vacation, and we had already seen several of the fireworks from the parks I realized that while it would have been fun to have the magic kingdom view, it wasn't necessary. Our room number was 8436-which weirdly enough is the 14th floor.
Our room was a one bedroom villa that had king size master bed/bedroom, with 2 bathrooms, great kitchen, full fridge etc, and washer and dryer and balcony, and 2 TV's.
I found the mousekeeping to be great.
Yes there are small things with the structure, plaster loosening in the bath, carpet not perfect, small crack in table in balcony,,, but not enough for me to give it bad reviews as some people have.
I found the bed to be excellent, and the kids said the roll outs in living area, full bed and twin roll out, to be comfortable also.
The hotel itself is very clean, the pool very nice according to my kids, It was too cold while we at Disney and I didn't swim. They said the slide was fun.
Another incredible advantage is the location,, an honest 5-7 min walk to the front gates of the magic kingdom or 2 min walk into the contemporary to catch the monorail.
A lot of people in reviews complained re having to go to the contemporary for food, but from the south tower was 2 min walk across the 5th floor connecting bridge.
One comment I will agree with from several people is that you will hear the pools music/loud speaker, we face the contemporary pool, and it was farther away, so quieter than the rooms that face the baylake pool)
Anyone have any questions feel free to contact me.

Room Tip: see full review,, room 8436 very nice, does not have a magic kingdom view

What an absolutely amazing stay!
We arrived early in the morning (9am) as we took an early flight in and we were very very tired. When we arrived we were told our room was not ready and opted to have a text message sent to us. After breakfast we stopped by the front desk and were told our room was ready :D We were given a room on the 11th floor with a perfect view of Cinderella's Castle!!! This is a hotel that is modern and clean (if you are expecting the highly decorated Disney theme, then this is not the hotel)! We had reserved a studio room which came with a small kitchenette, which was perfect for days we needed a little room to store snacks and drinks. Our room was clean and we did not experience any issues. The balcony was on the small side but it was more then enough room for 2 people excited to see the fireworks every night! The sofa did have a pull out bed option (but we did not use it) and the bed had lots of pillows and sheets. I did think the bed was a bit uncomfy, however after long days of walking around the park, we quickly fell asleep. Our bathroom was nice and big and fully stocked with lots of shower goodies and towels.
The walkway to MK was convenient. We were able to walk straight from the lobby to the entrance of the park. Bus stops to all of the parks and attractions were conveniently located outside the Bay Lake Tower main driveway. The monorail was a quick walk down to the ‘main’ floor (not the 1st floor). At times during rush hour there was a bit of a wait. There were a few stores located on the ‘main’ floor which had some Disney themed snacks and drinks.
Hotel was always clean and nicely decorated for Christmas! Staff was amazing and so so sweet! Can’t wait for our next stay here!!

Room Tip: The 11th floor was nice and quiet. Views of the magic kingdom were def. worth the extra charge.

Some friends and I stayed in a 1-bedroom villa at Bay Lake Tower for a runDisney event. We loved it! The modern styling was really nice and we loved having a full fridge, coffee maker, and dishwasher.

We used the sleeper sofa and it was great to have a second full bathroom so that we could spread out when we were getting ready. The whirlpool tub also felt wonderful after running a half marathon.

The location is also great: you can walk to the Magic Kingdom to go to the park and also to catch a bus to any other resort. (Some of the other resorts have great restaurants and nightlife.)

If you're a Disney Vacation Club member, the Top of the World Lounge on the roof of Bay Lake Tower is a wonderful place to relax and watch the evening fireworks. I just wish they had a full kitchen up there.

I can't wait to return to Bay Lake Tower!

Granted we were staying at the DVC's version, but the room! Wow! A two-bred with 3 bathrooms (makes you wonder why!) Very cool decor, spacious and a great view of the Magic Kingdom! There's nothing like being close to the action! We were able to come back to the room for naps! (Such comfortable beds too!)
