This is the first time I ever stayed on Disney property. We had a 1 bedroom suite. King size bed, 1 pullout double sofa, and 1 sleeper chair. It also had two bathrooms which is convenient for four adults. It had a washer and dryer with a full kitchen. We had a view of the lake which meant we could see Epcots fireworks, but would need binoculars for a better view. Others rooms had a view of the Magic Kingdom which is in walking distance or use the monorail from the Contemporary next door.
There were no stores in the building for small group dries. Check in is at 4 pm which discouraged us from bringing perishable groceries. MINUS spent more to stay here due to the monorail but not informed it was closed M-F from 11 am to 7 pm for maintain e. I have mobility problems and it is easier and faster to use the monorail. It took 1 1/2 hours to vet from Hollywood Studios back to the hotel by bus.

Room Tip: You can pay extra to have a view of the Magic Kingdom and the fireworks which is spectacular or watc...

Bay Lake Towers is our home DVC resort and we have stayed there a dozen times before and loved it. This trip however was miserable. We had a studio with Magic Kingdom view. The room smelled like dirty gym socks as soon as we entered. We told the manager who had a machine sent up to "remove" the smell. The machine made the room smell even worse. We were told that there were no rooms available to switch so we spent the first night there. Woke with a nasty migraine from the smell and demanded that we be moved. Finally after hours of arguing we were sent to the Contemporary at 11pm. We were given a concierge room. The room at the contemporary was very clean and smelled like a hotel room should. The service we received there was just wonderful. We will never again stay at BLT!!!!

Room Tip: Make sure you go smell the room before you accept it!

Bay Lake Tower is a nice resort and is well located for easy and quick access to the Magic Kingdom. The rooms are modern and well appointed. The new design for the rooms with the bathroom sink in the bathroom instead of in the kitchen area allows for more space. The resort is quiet and the rooftop Top of the World Lounge is a great place for cocktails and to watch Wishes for DVC members and their guests. The only thing that would make this resort better is a quick service dining option and an easier way to get to Epcot. The walk to the Contemporary, then the Monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center then another Monorail to Epcot can be tedious.

Room Tip: Save money or DVC Points and stay in a Lake view room. You can always see the fireworks from the Top...

I returned to BLT after 2 years. If you have young kids or want to be close to the Magic Kingdom, this hotel is still the one to beat. The rooms might have a slight bit more wear and tear vs. my last visit, but our room was still well maintained and clean. They have added check in capabilities in the lobby since last time, which is very nice and was very well staffed every time we went through the lobby. Check in was a breeze, too. The guard in the parking lot radioed ahead and there was a person waiting for us outside and several people available to handle our check in.

We usually don't rush to the parks. We love the 2BR suites because it gives everyone a chance to spread out and to sleep well.

If you are staying long enough, you will find that the easy access to the Magic Kingdom might result in an extra trip or two at night during your stay. Consider the Park Hopper option!

Room Tip: If you choose a lake view room, you might be blasted with loud music from the Electric Water Pageant...

An easy walk to magic kingdom. Nice hotel. Bus service to other parks or monorail to magic kingdom. Only down side is it can be more noisy than other properties as the buses are close by where all other resort guests are dropped off. Nice pool and lake.

We have stayed at many of the hotels on the Disney World property and this one is quickly becoming our favorite because...easy access to Magic Kingdom, monorail access, the lobby smell. As crazy as that sounds, it is such a clean and calming smell and many who have been here can also attest to this. We even went so far as to asking the staff about it and they stated that many people ask the same thing. Parking for many hotels requires a shuttle just to get to your room and while that may be a bit of an exaggeration, it is true for some. Bay Lake has convenient parking right outside of the hotel that makes getting in and out quick and easy. Something else that I learned this past Christmas was if you can get to the front gate of the Magic Kingdom, you can get in even if the park "closes" because they are at capacity. Because it is an easy walk from Bay Lake to the Magic Kingdom entrance, you will be able to get in. Now many may have no interest in going into a park that is even close to being at capacity, but having that option is nice. The Polynesian has always been a favorite due to the tropical atmosphere but Bay Lake is a great choice too. We are already looking forward to our return visit this summer.
