“Magical Location”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

This is our second stay at Bay Lake Towers and I have to say that the location is everything. It is about a five minute walk to Magic Kingdom and with two children under 6, location trumps all. We were assigned an accessible studio room on the sixth floor which I think was the highest you can go unless you are a DVC member. The room was clean and the layout was more spacious that the regular studio and it was great for our little family of four. Because it was an accessible room, there was a large separate shower and I especially like the handheld shower for the kids in the tub. The floor in the room had a bit of a smell but bring your own flip flops and you will be fine and there was also vacuum in the room. The mini kitchen was very convenient. They stock it with disposable cutlery, plates and complimentary coffee. There was a mini fridge(not stocked), microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker, which doubled as the kettle when we wanted to make tea. If you take the walkway on level 5 to the Contemporary, you could stock your fridge with most pantry items at the grocery store. (They have large bottles of water on the shelves) The bed and the pull out were comfortable and there was an extra blanket and pillows in the closet. Although our room was directly across from the service elevator and right above the parking lot, it was relatively quiet. The best perk this time was that we could see the fireworks from the balcony. There was a channel on the TV which piped music that synced with the fireworks at Magic Kingdom every night. They also have a DVD player which kept the kiddies entertained while we got ready. It was a quick walk to the monorail via the skywalk to the Contemporary and just the same to the bus station for Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney and the Water Parks. For those of you with strollers, it is also the first bus stop to all the mentioned bus locations so you will usually get a seat! Best thing about this hotel is its location!

We have stayed twice at Bay Lake Tower. I think this hotel is in a great location but the studio is rather small for 4 people. You get one queen bed and one fold out couch. I felt like our stuff was crammed in the room and we only had carry on bags. That said the location cannot be beat, it's just a five minute walk to Magic Kingdom and the monorail takes you to Epcot via the ticket and transportation center. You have to take a bus to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. I think if I had to stay in a studio for more than a couple days with 4 people I'd start to feel a little claustrophobic, but it's probably good for 2 or 3 people. The pool is ok, nothing special for Disney. It is nice to be able to head over to the Contemporary and go shopping. As a note, if you're able, walk to Magic Kingdom, it's much faster than the monorail to get there.

My husband and I are DVC members and while Bay Lake Tower (aka BLT) is not our home resort it is one of our favorties. We recently spent 5 nights in a one bedroom Magic Kingdom view room. Like all DVC resorts we really enjoy the one bedrooms with the full kitchen and washer/dryer. This was a low key stay for us with only one park day planned. Having the kitchen let us have a number of meals in which was nice for this type of trip.

Being able to walk back from the Magic Kingdome is a big plus for this resort. We also enjoy the Top of the World lounge (available only to DVC Members) for a nice drink with friends and being able to enjoy the fireworks.

Room Tip: If you want to save points over a theme park view the lake views are also very nice!

First stay here, great rate thru DVC Rental Store...Location cannot be beat but the lack of Disneyism made the resort austere in our opinion...views we're great and walkway ( sky bridge ) we're convenient for food and monorail...

Pull out sofa sleeper was quite comfortable but the big winner is the short walk to the MK...

I am officially spoiled. Will never stay anywhere else when we go to Disney. Ever. 10 minute walk to MK....game changer. We rented DVC points through a third party and it was an excellent experience from beginning to end. Honestly felt like royalty. The pool and grounds are amazing. Zero complaints. Yeah it's expensive and some people would expect the Ritz for those prices, but it's disney and definitely THE nicest I've seen. And most modern, which I prefer. DO IT!

Our last stay at Disney was at bay lake towers. This is a DVC resort but rooms can also be had by the public. There are many sized rooms to accommodate any need. The location is wonderful. It is a short walk to the magic kingdom and a bus or monorail ride to the other parks.
There is a lounge on the top floor to watch Wishes-spectacular!

Amazing views on sky bridge of Wishes every night. Then simply turn around when it's done and you'll get to see the Electric Water Parade right on bay lake. It was a very easy 7 min walk to MK. I wish there were more eatery options but you had Contempo Cafe and Chef Mickey right at the Contemporary which was easily accessible. Staying on the monorail line totally spoils you convenience wise! The staff were all very helpful and friendly. And my kids LOVED the pools. My only complaint is the bus system. They should really have more buses and more frequently but it was still not something that put a damper on or vacation.
