“If your going to stay anywhere on Disney property, make it here!”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

My Dad and I stayed here when he came out to visit me in Florida, and we loved waking up each morning to animals of all sorts right outside our window.

Our room was great, spacious, clean with all the amenities we needed. The room was quite a walk from the reception area so if you struggle to walk long distances ask for a room close by.

Dad really enjoyed the breakfast within the hotel (Extra each morning unless your on some sort of meal plan), we were in jambo lodge. The pool was great too and plenty of towels.

Reception and concierge were fantastic with any queries we had; they sorted out any problems we had with our magic bands (we were testing them for Disney that weekend) and with pin trading too!

Highly recommend Boma restaurant for lunch/dinner… we really enjoyed it!

It's close by to animal kingdom but the other resorts is a long bus ride in comparison to the other disney resorts but don't let that put you off… all transport is provided so you don't have to drive anywhere!

Thankyou for a most enjoyable stay Disney, we will certainly be back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the savanna, its amazing watching the animals from the comfort of your...

We stayed here one night for a wine dinner at Jiko's restaurant. The room was ready at 2 PM when we checked in, the check-in was quick and friendly. The room was more than adequate and had a spectacular view of animals on the Arusha Savanna. It made us feel like we were in Tanzania on safari!

We have stayed at multiple Disney properties before. This resort is beautiful there is no doubt about that. It is secluded and far from all other distractions. The savannah is incredibly beautiful and really neat to see. The rooms are small though and would be difficult to handle if we were staying for an extended period of time. Additionally the quick service dining is slow and overcrowded due to there being extremely limited seating. I hear kidani village is better so we will try that one next time.

Breathtaking lobby with every design detail not overlooked. Worth every penny to have a savannah view room - Step out on your balcony day or night to see a variety of animals. Found the room size adequate for 4 people, not too small. Make sure you set aside time to spend at the resort. We will definitely stay here again. Club Level service was excellent.

Room Tip: If you stay here, choose one of the savannah views.

We have been to the Animal Kingdom Lodge yearly for the past 4 years. Starting when my daughters were old enough to head to Disney (which for us was old enough to not need a stroller). The first time we visited AKL, it was on a whim with a trip booked on Tuesday that started that Friday. As with any young girl/boy, animals seem to be their purpose in life and nothing better could be said about their absolute love of this resort. (so much so that even the suggestion of another location over the next several years was nearly met with tears)

We have always stayed on the Club level (primarily for two reasons that I will get into shortly) and always in Jambo house with an Arusha view. We have been relatively lucky and had bunk beds for the girls for each stay here which makes the rooms feel a bit larger than they are. (and they are small). The walk to our rooms was never more than a few minutes after getting off the bus.

So... Club/Concierge level? Is it worth it? To us, yes and specifically here as there are Safari's that are only open to club level guests. it is a Sunrise Safari and it gets you a bit closer to the animals with more time to observe and for the kids to ask questions, followed by a nice breakfast in Animal Kingdom. The second reason for us is that we always do the dining plan and by eating breakfast in the club level, (oatmeal, quinoa, pastries, fruit, juices, coffee etc.) it gets us off an going without much time and allows us to be very selective for our other dining experiences not wasting our Dining Plan points on a small quick meal. We have found that having nice slower lunches and dinners keeps our kids relaxed and happy all day with nearly no grouchy-ness...

View vs. No-View rooms... without a doubt, go for the room with a view of one of the savanna's! I mentioned we only have stayed on the Arusha Savana, but the animals on the others are just as impressive. The kids loved waking up early and seeing "who" was out in the morning.

The restaurants... comments that there are no "italian" restaurants here confuse me! We have eaten extensively at Boma, Jiku and Sanaa and have NEVER once found an issue with having options that everyone in our family love. this is an african themed resort, so please, expect african themed menus. And with that, Boma has 50% normal everyday fare! Jiku always has wonderfully prepared foods that while there is a tinge of african flare, are still tame by most respects.

distance from parks. Yep, this one is out there. The most we have ever waited for a bus over the years was less than 15 minutes and that was a fluke... typically we wait for less than 5 minutes and I'm not sure where the 20+ minutes come from as my daughter loves to time from start to finish and they range from 5 (AK) to 20 (DTD). Buses are part of the deal and if the theme of the resort is of interest to you and your family, then do NOT let that aspect scare you away!

Give it a shot, walking into the main lobby of Jambo house always makes me stop and take it all in, reminding me of how lucky we are to be able to share experiences like this with our kids!

Room Tip: Arusha Savana is our favorite!

Stayed here with my wife ,son and future daughter-in-law for 2 days beginning of March -- great place to relax and enjoy the scenery . We were able to check in and get our rooms early --I did online check in , so everything was waiting for us.
Pool was nice -- large and had 2 hot tubs . Didn't have a Savanna view , but did enjoy watching the animals from the viewing stations.
Enjoyed Boma for one dinner -- lots of different foods.
Stayed at most of the Disney Hotels -- this one is my new favorite.

We got their early in the morning so our room wasn't ready for a while, but the sunrise over the savanna was amazing. We stayed at Kidani Village the Vacation Club part. The cast members were very nice and our first time with the magic bands were perfectly working. Our room off to the side a bit had an amazing view of the savanna. I got great pictures of the animals. We loved this resort so much we are staying again this summer. The rooms were very spacious as we'll we got our own bathroom! Ignore the terrible reviews this place is one of a kind.

Room Tip: Get a Savanna Veiw and Two Bedroom Villa at Kidani Village. Pricy but totally worth it.
