A few years back I was traveling to the area 1-2 times a month and the Turf Club was on my rotation of places to eat. There were 2-3 items on the menu that were very healthy and well portioned (i.e. not a heaping mound of food). Unfortunately, the restaurant succumbed to pressure and the menu was revised to one where the food is not quite as unique and the healthy factor fell. For example the chicken once was a broiled meal and is now a breaded meal. Hopefully this is a temporary thing and 2014 will bring some sanity back.
The restaurant itself never seems crowded. We have always walked up to the seater and have been seated in a reasonable amount of time. During the shoulder months we sit on the outdoor patio and enjoy the view of water taxis moving up and down the Sassagoula River. Other than the menu choices, the food is of good quality and the portion sizes are still under control.
The wait staff is always attentive and prompt. The value is also reasonable considering the Turf Club is located within a Disney resort.
I would suggest that during mosquito season avoid sitting on the patio if you will be there around dusk. Disney does a great job of controlling these guys but they seem to overwhelm this area during that 30 minute period.
