Description: Share in a one-of-a-kind celebration of music and culture as Bob Marley: A Tribute to Freedom at Universal CityWalk takes you on a musical journey through the life of the "King of Reggae." Bob Marley’s songs of faith, hope, rebellion, and determination have brought inspiration and joy to audiences everywhere. Working closely with Rita Marley and the Bob Marley Foundation, we have created a replica of Bob's home on 56 Hope Road in Kingston, Jamaica. Inside, artifacts, photos, and video clips from his legendary career surround visitors in the open-air veranda and courtyard. The cuisine features Jamaican-influenced appetizers, entrees and desserts. Some of the most popular items are the Oxtail Stew, the Sun is Shining grilled chicken breast marinated in Jamaican curry sauce, and the Taste of Jamaica appetizer platter featuring veggie & beef patties, mango wings and yucca fries.

We ate twice here as we like Caribbean food, the live bands playing were very good and the atmosphere good too being partly open air, but the staff have much to learn. On our first visit the waitress was slow and very 'off' with us but the food was good. There was a souvenir area and my son went over to buy a wrist band, the assistant totally ignored him and packed up for the night to go as fast as she could! We gave it another try on our last hot, long day in the 2 theme parks hoping that they had just had an off night before, but alas it was even worse. Advertised outside were 'ladies 2 for1 drinks' evening but we were seated upstairs that night and were then rudely told that offer is only available if just at the bar downstairs not having dinner. OK, so we ordered a bottle of wine (3 adults, wine expensive so worked out better) but our 23 year old daughter was asked for her ID which we did not have with us (being English and not used to carrying that at her age for a restaurant). We had not been asked on the last visit there, by the way. The waiter was quite abrupt and rude over it all which was not necessary, making my daughter feel uncomfortable and us cross. He wanted to follow the rules, ok fair enough and was not a big deal for us anyhow but it was how it was done, soooooo over the top, very embarrassing for us. Then he only brought out one glass of wine not a bottle, with out asking, as if to make a huge point! eeerrm right. Then the same big fuss about how my son wanted his meal as we had had during the first visit happened all over again in a condescending, patronising way, yet again. No need. As we had only just about finished our food and were thinking of leaving when we were rudely told to go as the upstairs area was about to become a 'club area' and our teenage son was under age.....they had seated us up there! (both visits children of all ages dining there) Could have understood if no seats available downstairs and/or they had told us prior to eating we had to rush, here's and idea..... BE NICER!! It all totally spoiled our last evening, we had been in a fab mood going in but that just did not have a chance of lasting here. Avoid this place if you want to relax and enjoy your dinner. Oh and on our second visit the 'restrooms' (ladies) was in a terrible state.

“Don't go!!!!!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 via mobile

Do not go here. Reservation for 5 casually seated at 4 top with open 6 tops all around. Waitress spills large ice tea directly down my back and offers a stack of cocktail napkins. No manager no apology. Clothes ruined.

“Never Disappoints”

We can't make a trip to Orlando without visiting the Bob Marley restaurant. The atmosphere is great, the music is awesome, and the food is impressive. The service, though...well, that's a different story. We've never had a great server but (thankfully) we eat at low-traffic times so we don't have to compete with many other guests to get someone's attention. We've had the Stir It Up Fondue and Jammin' Chips and Salsa for appetizers, the Belly Full Beef Patties, Reggae Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Manchester Beef, and Natty Dread Vegetable Patties for entrees - all have been delicious. The bartenders we've had make the drinks VERY strong so that's a plus (for us anyway lol)! It's a great stop for the end of the day and one that will leave you feeling mighty full, mon.
