“Slightly less magical from our last visit”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

We're huge disney fans and are repeat guests to Pop Century Resort. The rooms are great, and as always Disney pays attention to every detail at the hotels. Our room was very clean, and the cleaning staff left us fun shaped towels every day which we love. The hotel was all done up for Christmas and the decorations were really neat.

We did notice that the magic was lacking in the food court this time around. We had trouble using our dining plan card for food, and found that the employees were not as friendly and smiley as most disney employees are. This snapped us out of the magic feeling every time we went for food, which really took away from the experience. Hopefully this was just a bad week and not the direction the hotel is headed.

All in all, we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We ask to stay in the 90's area as there's a quick short cut across the lawn to the bus term...

This was our first WDW vacation and we stayed at Pop Century. It wouldn't happen again. The room was fine but "Mouse-keeping" didn't do anything extra for my kids. We even left tip $ for them!! Also we called down for a play pen for my youngest and the door man was so rude. The only people who were actually nice were the front deck. It was horrible the experience as a whole.

Our second stay at Pop Century in as many years and it's as magical as our first!

From stepping off the Magical express this resort hits you with a "I'M REALLY HERE AT WALT DISNEY WORLD!!" Around the face and then some! From the decor to the resort team, you can't help but feel the buzz pass on to you from them!

The rooms are a good size for us, big enough to store everything, including my electric mobility scooter, and still have room to walk around - however, we are in a value resort so now lavish settees or coffee tables, there's no room for starters! Everything and everywhere in the room is light and more importantly clean! And smells fresh too!

The food court is great, lots of choice here, whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or even just snacks! And the family pizza is amazing - I would even go as far as saying it's nicer than Dominos or Pizza Hut! We make a pact to have it as out arrival day dinner now!

There's also an onsite gift shop with a wide range, and a pick up zone if you have anything sent to resort whilst shopping around Disney World. There's an Arcade. And Reception/Concierge is open 24 hours a day.

The pool is lovely and is slope walk in rather than steps, so a lot easier if you have balance issues like me or have small children.

Take a walk around this resort, there's so much to see in the different zones, look out for the giant yo-yo, Mickey Phone and Fooseball Table!

The WDW bus shuttle service stops are right outside the food court, and they only come back to this resort hotel meaning a lot quicker service! Also, lots of songs to listen to whilst you're waiting and on the bus. My favourite part of the bus journey is as it pulls up to the hotel and says to you "welcome home!"

All in all if you want a fab value hotel within the WDW resort with fab service and lots of amenities - then this is the hotel you are looking for

Pop quickly became home after our first trip check In was seamless , room was just what we wanted without even knowing what we wanted when we booked. Cast members were magical with pixie dust everywhere! Food was fantastic but long lines in the food cart, cast members were easily able to fix up when we messed up quick service dining plans, in our defence there really is really a lot of food involved. Our room was spotless and mouse keeping had special treats every day, towel animal, not the pre made one. And beds arranged special with their critters on the beds, in the windows and "hidden" throughout the room.Pools were great lots of fun! We could not wait to get back
Theme parks were full of pixie dust and magic!

Then trip 2. The resort was in "testing" for magic bands and mde. You could feel the stress from the cast members, nothing in particular just not magical as i previously expected. The room was EXACTLY what i requested but it was barely cleaned, stained sheets, skittles left hiding under, well everywhere! Our mouse keeper left pre made towel animals that was nice but again, not as magical. The food court was a nightmare, 30 min was the norm to serve food. The cast members seem annoyed at the few occasions i missed something that belonged with my meal. Also the menu changed and was not a good fit for my family. Check in was great and a cast member walked us to our room to make sure it was what we wanted, some pixie dust available there
Again the pools were awesome, bowling pin quieter pool was our fav. Bus ran pretty smoothly. Maybe because it was a second trip i expected to feel the first timers "oh wow" but it wasn't my first time so things were not a surprise anymore.

Most of the cast members at the parks seemed stressed too but had a magical time just the same. Some cast members had plenty of pixie dust, impromptu sword fights, a wild chase between tinker bell and vidia for example

Planning our third trip back to pop, hoping now that the testing phases are over full roll out will have some magic back .

Room Tip: Lake view is quiet and beautiful but further than bus stops and food court and pool over preferred r...

This a "Value" Disney hotel but still a great place to stay if you're traveling with kids.
We arrived on a Monday and were lucky enough to be able to check in early.
We chose a room close to the entrance and buses.
Every room has a fridge, which is great.
During the Summer they plays games all day by the pool.
Pop Century is a 15 min bus ride to the Magic Kingdom and a 10 min bus ride to Epcot.

The only bad thing was that housekeeping came VERY early. They did leave us towels and shampoo but didn't make our beds. I know that this is a large hotel and they have to start cleaning early. Not really complaining, just letting you know.

Although when you go to Disney, you're mostly there to visit the parks. I must say that we went for approx 12 days, and the days we took a break from visiting the parks we had a great time at this hotel.

3 pools, nice layout, great food court, nice family arcade. Front desk is a bit slow in processing check-ins/outs, but extremely friendly and courteous.

The beds are not hard but aren't very soft either, they're pretty good and you can get a good night's sleep in comfort. We were a party of 3 and we were just happy with our choice. A/C was great. I really like the fact that the sink/vanity is outside the bathroom, which is a total time saver when several people are getting ready. Iron and board, room service (they charge a percentage for room delivery), wake up call available. I mean it's great.

Laundry is also available, the cost was the same as around home, I believe it was 1.25/small machine and 0.25/8 minutes in dryer. I did laundry twice. Laundromat is located just a few steps from the pool and next to the bar ;-)

Good choices for breakfast, lunch, snacks. Not lots of variety, but if you are looking for healthy foods, you may find seafood, salads, japanese, etc. On the other hand, they have good youth options as well, pizza, chicken, burgers, ice cream, etc. On rainy day/nights, we would hit the pool and/or the arcade.

Have a great time and enjoy your stay!
