Stayed here a few times and seemingly always in the 1980s. Nice double bedded room with two beds-- close quarters. Close to Art of Animation which has nicer food court. For the price one of our favorite value. Also 80s close to bus stop and near a quiet pool.

We are DVC members and at the last minute we added 3 days to our trip. Nothing was really available using points and WDW Travel was running a summer special for Pop Century rooms. We haven't stayed here since 2005 but thought we would give it a try for 3 days. We do not have children and were traveling alone.

I have read many, many reviews on TripAdvisor about Pop Century. The biggest complaints seem to stem from size of rooms/service/and expectations not meeting reality. Do your homework!!! Read about the resort, the hotels, etc. Know what you are getting in to. We knew going in that PC is geared toward kids/families, has smaller rooms (it's a value tiered resort) and has a larger than life theme of oversized icons (Rubik Cubes/Computers, etc etc). It is exactly as its described on Disney's website and other travel sites.

CONS: The rooms are smaller than most. Bathrooms are very small. You have to move aside to shut the bathroom door. It's CROWDED. Lots of kids, and in the heat you got a lot of miserable parents too. Busses tend to drop you off/pick you up at the parks the FURTHEST AWAY from where you need to enter. Busses are usually PACKED FULL, standing room only. The walls ARE paper thin - you will hear EVERYTHING - people walking, talking, yelling, screaming, talking, flushing toilets, showers - ALL OF IT. It might even wake you up at night. Do do NOT ask for a pool view if you hate noise.

But you know what - we expected all this. We dealt with it. I have no complaints.

PROS: It was clean. We had no issues. Beds may be a little smaller, but our room was cleaned every day and sheets changed every day (we don't get maid service every day when we stay on DVC points). It's on Disney property - which means you get:
- Access to Extra Magic Hours at the theme parks
- Access to make FastPass+ selections online before you arrive
- Disney feel/theming - it DOES add to the vacation, I promise
- Access to Magical Express bus services to/from airport if you are flying
- Access to bus service throughout the WDW resort
- Honestly, one of the BEST quality food courts on Disney property (we are vegetarians and we had PLENTY of choices - plus they have PLENTY of options outside of the regular old chicken/burgers/nuggets/pizza - but you can still get those too if you want it. We found the food to be of good quality.)

Yes, food is expensive. It's Disney. Deal with it. You know this going in - you know that Disney hotels/parks/food is EXPENSIVE. If you don't know that, do more research. If you don't like it, don't come to WDW and complain. Go somewhere else.

We love WDW. Yep, it's expensive. But we know that. Again - I stress - research, research, research. Understand how it works. Understand the hotels, bus service, prices, food options, Fastpass+ (which, for the record, DOES NOT cost extra as some reviews have erroneously reported), the parks, the times, the fireworks, and what works or won't work for your family.

With that said, I can say that Pop Century is NOT for us - we are a couple with no kids and there were too many kids for us here - but it served its purpose. A clean, safe place to rest at night and park hop all day. I DO recommend PC for people with kids, for people on a budget etc. I think PC is better than the All Stars (we've stayed at all the Disney World resorts so I can fairly compare). It's better than Art of Animation (unless you need a suite). Art of Animation has a great food court too, but we found PC to be cleaner.

Especially on a reduced rate/free dining plan situation, PC is definitely worth it. Our summer pricing was about $80/night with a reduced dining plan price while we were here.

Room Tip: Do NOT ask for a room near pools - walls are thin enough without added pool noise late at night. Ask...

We checked in online so our wait was short. Cast members with handheld devices assist those in line, thus speeding things up. Our room was on the first floor. Clean, a short walk from the buses, and with a mini fridge. Got lovely housekeeping every day. Concierge service and other questions were addressed and handled quickly and positively. We love Pop Century!

I am so disappointed with this hotel, yes the huge characters are amazing but clearly that is what you're paying for. Rooms are very tiny beds are uncomfortable and small. It was convenient to have the shuttle buses close but other than that I was quite dissapointed and don't think I'll be staying here again I rather stay at a non Disney property with this crazy prices

My family and I seem to always return to Pop Century when visiting Disney World. I've personally stayed over 5 times, and will continue to keep coming back. The hotel is always very clean, the service is always excellent, the staff is always friendly and willing to help, and bus service is always speedy. The food is always pretty good, with lots of options. The best part is that if you get tired of Pop's food, AOA is just across the river, which gives you even more options! My family has always stayed in a preferred pool view (right beside the pool) and the noise has never been a problem, and for the extra $10 or so a night, the pool is just steps away from your door. But if you were to stay in a regular room, the walk is definitely doable. We always like to choose value hotels, so that we can stay longer, and for a family on a budget, this is a gem!

Room Tip: Preferred pool view is the way to go and is definitely worth the extra $10 or so!

When booking this hotel we knew it was a "value" and therefore we were happily surprised by our experience.

We arrived having checked in online and were dealt with immediately and were informed we had been upgraded to a preferred room . Great start! Our room was clean and comfortable and the kids loved the mickey towels welcome .would have liked a few more personal touches over our stay but the room was maintained immaculately
The bathroom was a little dated (but immaculately clean with lots of hot water) and there is no kettle , we bought the unlimited drinks and so this wasn't a big issue as this included hot and cold drinks.
The kids loved the pool after a long days in the parks .
the food court is pretty much as you would expect and the food was hot and fresh - we only usually had breakfast here so cant really comment on the other offerings.
the Disney transportation is excellent and in addition to going to the parks we used the bus to downtown Disney to pick up taxis from there to seaworld/universal/shopping malls.
the magic bands worked a treat and the kids loved charging things without carrying cash around, and using "my Disney experience" allowed us to make meal reservations in the parks and fast pass rides in advance - very smart!
will we go back to this hotel -absolutely!.

Room Tip: we were in room 5459 which was a top floor in the 60's block. it was quiet and near the pool and...
