“Great Find!”

Went here with a group of friends and was pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere and the food was awesome. The prices were reasonable and I like that you can order and bunch of different things and share.

“Great find”
Reviewed 18 August 2012

Went to hawkers based on tripadvisor rating. Out of the way location but worth the drive. Place is very modern. Concept of small plates is very good and price is affordable. We ordered beef and chicken skewers, five spice calamari, duck in lettuce wrap, fried rice and pad Thai. All tasted great except the pad Thai. I didn't like their version, it was ketchup-based. Service was fast. Waiter was attentive and gave good suggestions.

“Good food, good value”

I enjoy going to Hawker's for my Asian food fix. I specially enjoy the Malaysian prawn mee and their summer rolls. I was a bit disappointed by the bulgogi lettuce wrap.

“Latest price raise hurts value a bit, but still great asian fusion!”
Reviewed 27 July 2012 via mobile

Some of the best Asian dishes have been coming from Hawkers. But many have since left the menu: mussels, shrimp omelet are the biggest missing. The soups are good for a meal by themselves. Everything else is a Tapas style. Try the five spice anything any curry any soup and the stir fry using! Really tasty just a little value lost with the price raise and menu drops.

“Couldn't ask for a better spot”
Reviewed 25 July 2012

This has quickly become my favorite restaurant in town. It's located in my favorite Orlando neighborhood, Mills 50. The building used to house an old Chinese restaurant and fish market, but there's virtually no trace of the old business left. The place is now accented with a bright orange inside and out, and pictures of Asian street vendors, hawkers, decorate the inside walls.

The food here is tapas style, which is great. It would be too hard just to choose one menu item. The "small plates" are definitely just that. But beware that a lot of the noodle and soup dishes are pretty large, so don't order a bunch thinking they're tapas size. If you're a first timer, you have to order the roti canai. It's a thin pancake with a curry sauce for dipping and it's one of the tastiest things on the menu. There are also plenty of vegetarian options, but make sure to ask about certain dishes, especially the curries Any of them are made using chicken. The tables are only set with chopsticks and spoons, but they do have forks available if you need one.

If the place is packed, service can get a a little slow. With the tapas style menu, the kitchen is cranking out tons of plates. Also, they bring out the small plates as they come. So everyone at the table might get different dishes at different times. Chances are they haven't forgotten an order, they're just bringing the food out as it comes instead of waiting for all the plates.

2 tips: 1. check in on Yelp for a free order of spring rolls. 2. Go on a Wednesday. There's no corkage fee, so you can bring your own wine.
