“Excellent Vacation”

This year we traded our timeshare and stayed at Sabal Palms. It was a relaxing and enjoyable week. Sabal Palms is close to the main Marriott waterfall pool that our boys love! It is also close (walking distance) to the golf course. Overall we enjoyed our week.

If there was a down side it's that the 2nd bedroom has a full and a twin size bed. We are used to our home resort that has 2 queen size beds in the 2nd bedroom. For our tall boys it was a little uncomfortable.

This was my first time at this Marriott. I've stayed at the Marriott's Grand Vista many times, and it is so much better than the Sabal Palms. The good points, I had a newer room, The shower in the master bedroom is fantastic, and the Marriott World Center is close by. The bad points, the villa has a large step down from the kitchen to the living room, and from the bathroom in the master bedroom. This is not good for small children, or the handicap. The pool is very small. The main lobby closes at 9pm, so if you need anything you must drive to the Royal Palms. My husband had to go to the Royal Palms to get new keys at 11:30 pm, when all 4 of our keys would not open the door. They don't come to you. In closing, the only reason I might stay there again is because of the Marriott World Center. It cost less to stay at the Sabal Palms, and you can use the facilities of the Marriott World Center.

My family of 5 recently stayed in a 2 bedroom condo at Sabal Palms and we couldn't have asked for more. The condo is spacious and well laid out. The kitchen and bathrooms are upgraded (the master bath has an awesome shower with a rain showerhead and wall jets) and the living room/dining room gave us plenty of room to spread out. We also enjoyed having a screened in balcony overlooking the pool and golf course. We did not experience the housekeeping problems of other posters - the daily cleaning service was reliable and thorough. The Sabal Palms pool was just steps away and we usually had it to ourselves. The kids loved it! The gym is small but adequate. My only complaint is that the front desk closes early- 5 pm during the week and 9 pm on the weekends - if you arrive after that time, you need to go to the Imperial Palms desk (a 2 minute drive away) and it would have been nice to know that in advance since we arrived at midnight when our tempers were short. Other than that, our stay was perfect. The resort is a short and easy drive to Disney and SeaWorld. I would definitely stay there again.

Apt. was nicely decorated with a full kitchen. Carpets could have been a little cleaner, but small stains will happen over time. I've never been to a timeshare resort where housekeeping did not change your towels or take out the garbage on a daily basis. Here (if your using the timeshare), you must call the front desk to have the linens changed (they don't make your beds either, but I don't really care about that). You must also call for more toilet paper or any other necessity. You must take out your own garbage. I was told resort owners wanted to keep costs down (if everybody calls for fresh linens, then housekeeping still has to be there - In fact this would take even more time). Where is the savings? Strange for a Marriott Property. The battery in my safe went dead. I called the Front Desk several times to have the battery changed. Was told Engineering (must be a nice new politically correct name for custodian) would be there right away. After 4 days, still no working safe. A real pain to take small valuables with you all the time.
Everybody we talked to was very nice. Great location. Free shuttle to Marriott World Center. Very comfortable apt. Sleeps 7 not 6 - king, double and twin beds with a double pull out sofa. Awesome Master Bedroom shower with a place to sit and shower heads on the ceiling (1) and wall (2). Kitchen was modern with newer appliances which worked fine. Free wi-fi but very slow. Did I mention it's free. Would stay here again.

I've worked in restaurants for twenty years and there's an old saying that great service can make up for a poor meal but a great meal wont make up for poor service. Ami Thomas at Marriott's Sabal Palms proved to me that it's also true in the hotel industry. We booked a room several months ahead and specifically got a whirlpool tub in our room as both my wife and myself have back problems. When we arrived guess what we found, no whirlpool! We asked a passing staff member to contact a manager for us and Ami came to our room within minutes. She explained that the tubs had been removed during a renovation, apologized that we had not been contacted and informed since the tubs had been removed between the time of our reservation and our checkin, and had hotel staff come and move all our stuff to a room that still had a whirlpool (and was larger) whithout us having to lift a finger! By the way, when the same thing happened at the Bellagio in Las Vegas during our wedding the staff there looked me straight in the eye and said such rooms never existed, an email arrived at our home a week after our trip explaining that rooms were being changed and that amenities would be different. Anyway, Ami Thomas was the Princess of Service on our Disney vacation. Also a great location, turn right out of the hotel and you are in disney in two minutes without even a turn.

Three generations stayed in a villa for spring break, and had a great time. Usually with 2 little kids we start to feel closed in, even in an extended stay hotel, but the villas at Sabal Palms are huge. The large screened porch is a nice plus. Our unit seemed to be updated with the exception of the guest bathroom.

Being able to walk to the main Marriott was great; so much for everyone to do there. We never left the compound due to having so many pools (even indoor for one rainy day), kids play center, and great walking paths. We will for sure stay here again, and I highly recommend for families.

This was our first stay at Sabal Palms. The resort had everything we were looking for. Our room had a recently renovated bath & kitchen and everything was very clean. The room was very spacious - we had plenty of room to spread out. We were within walking distance to the World Center pool and had a playground right outside our front door.
