“Nice hotel, great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2011

We only stayed here for one night before checking into the timeshare resort next door but were very impressed. The hotels is upscale and the rooms were nice but we really thought most of the staff we talked too were friendly and courteous and they seemed proud of their new hotel. Really, from check in, to our bell hop to the waiters and waitresses at the two different restaurants we tried within the hotel they all seemed to want to be informative and to make sure we had a great stay.

We had an absolute wonderful experience from the minute we pulled up. Matt was exceptionally welcoming as he took the keys for valet parking. Eddie walked us in with our luggage and was so informative, knowledgeable and pleasant. Then we reached the front desk and encountered Angela who was absolutely sweet. At the bar was Andrew and Dirk who made our nights fun filled and extremely entertaining while serving some of the best drinks ever. The managers on staff were phenominal as well. Shauna and Robert at the bar & restaurant were so pleasant. The deep blue restaurant on site had some of the best food we had ever eaten. Nick at the front desk was so helpful when we needed assistance with some personal business. Overall we had a wonderful time and we were treated like royalty.

Room Tip: The best view from a room is the one overlooking the pools

My husband and I decided to take our 4 kids (ages 4 to 11) to Orlando over fall break. This was our kids' first visit to Disney World and our first time back in 20+ years. We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. The location of Bonnet Creek is excellent. You cannot be any closer without staying at a Disney Resort. Door to door to the Magic Kingdom about 15 minutes - others were shorter. Here is my rundown of this hotel:

Rooms: We booked a Grand Deluxe King with Bunk Beds, Concierge Level. The room was very nice, not overly big, but with a separate (small) room with a twin bunk set. Perfect for our boys, and the second TV was excellent. The king bed was comfortable, and the pull out couch was "fabulous" according to our 10 year old daughter. NOTE: The room did not have sheets for the pull out bed, and it took 4 calls and a trip downstairs before someone arrived with bedding. The bedding came the next day. Ughh! This is my only complaint. In my opinion, housekeeping was sparse over the weekend but seemed to improve during the week. Our view was pretty good - but these rooms do not have a balcony -- which we would have greatly enjoyed.

The Concierge was adequate, not exceptional. Every morning (7 to 10) the lounge supplied fruit, pastries, cereal, milk, fresh orange juice (yum !) Starbucks coffee and tea. It was nice to have for the kids, and it filled them up for a few hours. We never had breakfast other than via the lounge, but the buffet downstairs looked pretty good. We did eat at the buffet the first night for dinner, and the total bill was about $100 for the 6 of us -- pretty pricey and the food was just okay. The Concierge evening reception consisted of cheeses, grilled veggies (cold) and soft drinks. Would have loved some beer and wine ... but it was still very nice. I think the Concierge level is worth the extra money.

Valet: We used valet parking everyday, and the service was exceptional. We never waited more than a few minutes for our car to arrive. Eddie, the head concierge (?), was especially helpful and gave us a great suggestion of "Beaches and Cream" for dinner while we waited for our car. Thanks Eddie !

Elevators: Very fast ... longest wait maybe 1 minute.

Pools: Beautiful. Perfect for families, although the Pirate Ship pool was in the shade a lot -- probably good during the hot summer. The cabanas are $100 per day or $50 from 3 pm to 6 pm. A lot cheaper than Vegas that's for sure. If we had stayed longer, I would have definitely rented one. The pool restaurant was not open when we were there, but looked to be opening the day we left. There was still cocktail service at the pool, and the drinks were good - prices anywhere from $6 for a beer to $12 for a mango margarita.

Bar: Great atmosphere, prices were typical for a nice bar (same prices as above I think) :). We had sushi one night brought over from the restaurant. It was typical sushi -- nothing crazy but still good. The Buffalo chips were excellent however.

Other Recreation: Kids loved the arcade, and there is a room with a pool table and TV area across the hall from arcade. The gym was pretty large with several treadmills and other equipment. I did not have time to check out the spa ... perhaps next time.

One last thing: You can buy Disney tickets at the hotel. The salesperson may try to get you to sign up for a timeshare presentation ... but there was no pressure. If you do the presentation, the prices for the tickets are reduced. If you decline, the ticket prices are the same as Disney. We waited to buy our tickets since we were not sure if the weather was going to cooperate.

Overall a very nice, brand spanking new hotel. Kids said it was their best vacation EVER !

The Wyndham Grand at Bonnet Creek was an incredible experience. We arrived on the resort's 7th day open. The lobby is gorgeous and the staff is incredible. The woman at the check-in desk was sweet as can be.

Our (1 King Bed w/balcony) room was not available because we checked in early, so we were given a (2 Queen Bed w/Balcony) facing Epcot Center so we could watch the fireworks from our balcony!

The room was brand new, the beds were insanely comfortable and the bathroom products must have been worth $35 alone (ALL Bath & Body Works). The TV was huge and our balcony overlooked the lake and numerous pool areas. The reading lights built into the headboards were a bonus!

Room service and drinks at the bar were a bit expensive, but the food and service were exceptional. Room service brought all of the extras we ordered in a jiffy and with white glove presentation. The bartenders were immensely knowledgeable about food and drinks, and were delightful to chat with, even at the late hour we arrived at the bar. A++ for the bartenders!

The resort is very family friendly and includes all you could want for entertainment, from the use of 6 or 7 pools (including 2 lazy rivers! And yes, I floated on both...), to mini golf, billiards, ping-pong, volleyball, an arcade, a pizza bar, a water play area for kids, and I don't know how many hot tubs. The hotel is located adjacent to the Wyndham vacation ownership properties, and you can travel among all of the buildings to enjoy the amenities. The weather was shot throughout the weekend, so I only got a little bit of time to enjoy the outdoor activities, and the only thing I was surprised to find was that the pool is not heated. For Orlando, I would expect this! Also, the outside pool bar & grill was still under construction during our stay, but that made no difference to us.

Getting to and from Disney was a breeze, but we had a rental car. The resort does offer transfers, but it is an extra cost and the shuttle times are sparse. However, you will pay about $13 daily for parking with a rental car, so either way you have to pay. The parking situation was odd too, because cones were setup outside the entrance and non-valet parking was limited to 2 floors.

All in all, we never wanted to leave. We stayed an extra night just to make the hotel stay last! I would love to go back to this hotel and enjoyed every minute we were there - just wish we had more time to explore. If you do decide to stay here, do yourself a favor... When you're walking in to the main lobby, stop in the vestibule and just inhale. It smells divine!

Room Tip: Grand Rooms include balconies, which are essential if you're a smoker bc the hotel is smoke-free...

This is a brand new hotel with a great feature of having bunk beds in a separate section of the room. There are 2 TVs and 2 sinks as well, very convenient if travelling with kids. The room was furnished very nicely. Service was good, except many employees simply didn't have answers to basic questions, but likely that will be fixed with time. We were there when they were only opened 2 weeks. The only bad part was the food. We had a terrible dinner the Deep Blu restaurant and the morning breakfast buffet was not good either. However, when we ordered french toast from the menu, it was quite good, so again, maybe just opening time glitches. It would be nice to get free breakfast for young kids, which is what Hilton bonnet creek does across the street, but maybe they will consider it another time. The pool area was nice, although disappointing that the water slide requires a higher height than rides like space mountain and everest in animal kingdom. We would stay again, just hope for better food the next time.

Room Tip: King room with bunk beds is great if travelling with kids

Stayed for three nights for wine and food. Got into hotel late around 11:00 p.m. Was told my room I booked was not available and told about the better room I was getting. Got to the room and it had no bed! Dragged everything back down to the lobby, and was given another room after some confusion. It had a bed. I'm not looking for freebies, but I have been comp something for smaller problems. While at the counter, another visitor came down with the same problem. We were given a room that I originally booked but was told was unavailable. No biggie. Room was clean with a good view. Some of the construction of the room was a tad sloppy but nothing serious. Bed was a little stiff for me but not to bad. Pool is smaller but you did have access to other pools around the Wyndham complex. Resort fee included internet access. Valet was 16 which is a few dollars cheaper than other area resorts. The valet was excellent. Having stayed at the other part of the Wyndham complex, it was nice not to be hassled about timeshares. Prices for food were on par with other area resorts. Don't expect cheap and you won't be disappointed. Hotel is nice and will be better when construction and all the kinks are worked out.

Room Tip: Rooms facing lake get a good view of fireworks.

My husband and I just got back from this hotel - It is not ready for a family vacation
Pro's: It's very beautiful
Con's: Not very child friendly, construction still going on, food too expensive (especially if you have kids), bugs (roaches) in the room and fire ant's in pool area - we mentioned this to the staff - nothing was done, housekeeping was terrible - our room was not cleaned till after 8 PM (even after it was cleaned carpet still needed vacuming and not enough bath towls were left), transportation to the parks was also terrible, you can't take a child stroller on board, availablity was terrible (schedule needs to meet customer needs), parking is expensive (I thought this would be included in our added resort fees - not as an added fee) - there still is a lot of work to do with staff in general
All in All - We just cancelled our other reservations we had for this hotel for December - Hopefully you willl be able to work out these "bugs" in the future

Room Tip: If you have kids - go to a disney resort - better value (transportation.food)
