“Great Place for Families”
Reviewed 17 December 2013

Marriott's Harbour Lake is a perfect place for families with small children. The room was big (not huge as other Marriott proporties) but the pool area was amazing for my two Little boys. The location is convinient for visiting the paks and for shopping, so if you have small children this is the place to stay!

Emma at the front desk is 5 star 5 diamond. Very knowledgeable of the area. We checked in early and room was not available was put into wait status and was notified on the cell phone when it was ready. A really cool place to stay. Close to the parks too.

This location needs to be seriously renovated. It looks very tired and there were many annoying issues with the room we were assigned. The toaster never worked properly. It would burn one side while barely toasting the other. The coffee machine brewed very slowly as if there were a clog in the system. The washing machine was so loud that one could not watch TV in the den while it was on. When my wife spilled some water on the rug, she attempted to swab it up and was shocked at the amount of dirt on the rag. From that point forward, nobody put a bare foot down on the rug. There were other issues but I'm sure you get the point.

The outdoor recreation areas were excellent for children and since we had three small ones with us, we appreciated that. I was disappointed overall, because this location does not live up to what I have come to understand as Marriott standards.

Room Tip: We were in building 13. Perhaps other buildings are better. This one, however, is right next to th...

Thank you for visiting Marriott’s Harbour Lake. We appreciate your positive feedback about resort activities, but are disappointed we missed the mark when it came to your villa. The room conditions you described is not typical of our resort and do not meet the Marriott standards you are accustomed to receiving.

We would be happy to speak with you about your stay and invite you to contact our Customer Care team at customer.care@vacationclub.com or by calling 800-860-9384. Thank you again for your review and we look forward to a future visit from your family.

Let's be clear this isn't your typical Marriott timeshare resort so don't book here if you think it is. What it lacks in formallity it, it rewards you with plenty of things to do when you're not at the theme parks. The pools were fabulous - you must sit on the mushroom when the huge buckets of water tip over - and the water slide ws fun too. We played mini golf almost every day, table footbal, and sat out by the lake early evening drinking margaritas. There was more than enough adequate parking if you can manage a 50 yard walk to your room which was serviced by a single lift. The rooms were simple and well maintained and given the location of the Walmart off Turkey lake road, we ate in a couple of times and had good breakfasts every day. The bar and food outlet (don't forget this resort has no restaurant and why should they given the location) served good drinks, smoothies and bar meals - good for two tired brits on the first night of their holiday and lunch on the last day but we ate out the rest of the time. The drinks were very good mind especially the icy margaritas which we drank in the hot tub after our full days in Universal. Really good location just off the major roads, but also good for Turkey lake through to International Drive, Universal and Disney. We went cycling one day for 42 miles from Winter Garden and Jay at reception helped us sort this out - we left a brochure at the concierge for future more athletic visitors. All in a great stay and given we paid only $300 for the week - it was an absolute bargain!

Room Tip: We chose a high room but a mid room may be better so you don't see the interstate.

Hotel was great! The only negative thing was the room was cleaned late in the day and after the first day they never gave us more coffee:-( the hotel was very clean, good restaurant on property, pools were great, kids activities were great, staff was great! Our family enjoyed this hotel a lot, already booked another vacation back there.

Room Tip: We stayed in building 14 perfect for the pools and kids activities.

This was the first time we had stayed at a vacation club and didn't know quite what to expect.
Excellent--the suite was very large and tastefully decorated for the price charged.
Very good--the staff was uniformly friendly and the grounds are handsome.
Could stand improvement--I don't know if there was construction going on nearby, but the suite was quite noisy during the day.
The staff, while trying to be helpful, didn't seem to know the area very well

We have two little boys, ages 2 and 4, and this resort is perfect for us and it will be a number of years before we outgrow it. This is our second stay here, and we just extended our stay another 5 days because we are having so much fun (and to avoid the snow back home)! From the pirate ship slide pool, shallow water second pool, mini-golf, playground, fishing pier (rods and hooks provided!), and kids activities including morning instrument jam sessions and evening s'mores by a campfire make this place a delight for our little ones. After a busy day at the parks it is great to have a relaxing day back at the resort. Rooms are well-equipped - they have everything we need, and we cooked in a number of meals. The one thing I would say is slightly lacking is a more robust restaurant; the grill provides the basics, but it would be nice to have another dining option on sight. That being said this is still our top pick in the Orlando area because of all the perks mentioned above.

Room Tip: Building 13 overlooks the lake and kids pool and is close to everything!
