Absolutely one of the most beautiful Ritz Carlton's in the USA. Food...incredible, we were there for Thanksgiving and ate at Norman's. The rooms are just lovely and they offer Bvlgari amenities. Pools were not heated...I was surprised. However, since we live on the ocean and have a pool, we will definitely be back as our stay was a dream.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool and lagoons are the best, with better views.

My husband and I just spent 4 days at the Ritz Carlton Grand Lakes in Orlando - We had a marvelous time. We checked in on Sunday evening and were shown to our room by an attentive bellman. The room was lovely and had a balcony overlooking the DiVinci gardens. The property was exceptional - a big lake bordered the hotel (and the neighboring Marriott) and there was a ton of wildlife inhabiting it. We actually saw a small alligator, herons, storks, ibis, and lots of ducks. We took long walks along the lake and it was very peaceful.

We didn't rent a car this time, but took a town car to the hotel and back. Town cars were also available for other forays if desired. We just stayed on property. We had booked a Comfort You package offered by AAA with a king room, breakfast for two and a $50 credit each day. It was not only elegant but an exceptional value.

The Ritz pool was huge, immaculate and well attended. A day at the spa cost an additional $25 pp. (or complimentary with a treatment). It was well worth it just for the fabulous steam bath, lovely meditation room and excellent spa pool which was clean and very warm (that day was cooler and breezy) but not really attended. One criticism - the spa is a little bit worn - the umbrellas around the pool need upgrading - several were broken or full of holes.

As for the food - The first evening we ate at Vineyard Grill - which was good but rather pricey value-wise - The next 3 nights we ate at Primo - at the neighboring JW Marriott - Expensive but exceptional food - and well worth the price. The butternut ravioli with lobster was divine as were the scallops my husband ordered. Breakfast every morning was an enormous buffet at Vineyard which, despite one day - where the bagels were dried out, was very good. Be aware - even though they say gratuities aren't included, they were included with our package.

Lunch was at Bleu - where the grilled shrimp fit in the palm of your hand and the dressing on the salad was a religious experience. Be aware - an 18% gratuity is added automatically at Bleu - Another problem was that they offered a topping of Myers dark rum on the dacquaris but didn't tell us that there was an additional $4 charge.

Mostly, the service was magnificent throughout our stay - I have never seen so many people so eager to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Every face had a smile, every request had "my pleasure" as a reply - It was just great!

We needed a later checkout because our flight was leaving at 7pm - no problem at all.

Our housekeeper Maria was fabulous - the room was immaculate and she was just a sweetheart - if we could, we would have tried to tempt her to come back home with us!

We had a couple of glitches - one with printing boarding passes that was remedied by the front office manager.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary that week and so the icing on the cake was a pretty silver plated frame - waiting for us in our room - courtesy of Ritz Carlton. Although it was a wedding anniversary, the luxury and wonderful service we found at the Ritz made it feel much more like a honeymoon.

What is left to say - except we will be back!

Room Tip: Asdk for the south tower - they just upgraded all the rooms and they are great!

The Ritz offered the perfect balance of serene, resort-style living with a convenient location to Universal and Discovery Cove for my two young sons.
PROS: It's the Ritz -- beautiful lobby, champagne welcome, ultra-clean rooms, plush bedding, and attentive service. It's for families who appreciate elegance without the stuffiness. Very kid friendly without going overboard. My boys enjoyed the "real" hot chocolate and marshmellows available in the silver urn in the lobby throughout our stay. The daily fish feeding at 1 p.m. that also attracted an 8-foot alligator for close viewing. (Yikes!) The beautifully landscaped lazy river pool at the adjacent JW Marriott. The Gingerbread house in the lobby. The turn down service that "tucked in" their stuffed animals brought from home with accompanying chocolates.
CONS: I wanted to take my boys fishing without a guide, but signs posted everywhere state alligators and snakes are present near their wetlands. Shop attendant told us not to worry because they take out the large alligators out of the lake. Someone forgot to tell the 8-ft croc that story. Passed on the fishing. No one seemed to know when the attraction shuttles come by, so if you are thinking about staying here and using shuttles, it doesn't really flow smoothly. You'll need private transportation, which is readily available. The in-room safes are extremely small. Fortunately we had access to two safes with adjoining rooms, but it sure would be difficult to fit iPads, jewelry, money, etc. for two adults in one safe.

Overall, it was one of the best hotel stays we've had as a family. TripAdvisor contributors, you rock! I chose the Ritz Grande Lakes from the overwhelming choice of Orlando hotels based on your recommendations.

Four nights for a conference. On par with the adjacent JW Marriott; doesn't really feel like a Ritz. Would book personally if I got a good rate but it didn't blow me away.

We booked the bed and breakfast package for 3 nights while in Orlando for an event. The staff at the Ritz were courteous, friendly and extremely accommodating; just as one would expect. By the second day of our stay we were greeted by name by many of the staff members. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the Vineyard restaurant every morning. Our room was large (huge bathroom!) and comfortable. This hotel is connected via a conference center to the JW Marriott hotel. Even though there was a large dance competition going on at the Marriott, we found the Ritz to be quiet and relaxing.

The Ritz is only a short drive away from Orlando's theme parks and restaurants. I highly recommend this Ritz; we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Orlando.

Room Tip: The pool behind the hotel and the golf courses are lovely. If possible, ask for a room facing the b...

My wife, two teen age daughters and I stayed here for the girls' dance competition in December. We were booked at the JW Marriott but were upgraded to the Ritz due to overbooking. The Ritz is superb. Service is gracious and attentive. the grounds are spectacular, the property is clean and well kept, the room was quiet, comfortable and very well equipped. The Ritz and the Marriott share the same grounds and facilities so we made use of the pools and restaurants on both.
A few minor issues: Self parking is $16 a day;this was waived with our upgrade but it seems exorbitant for a suburban hotel.
There is NO excuse for charging $10 a day for wifi. Even McDonalds provides free wifi.
Hotel restaurants (at both hotels) were excellent, very good food, good service, but overpriced. I know, it's the Ritz and it's Orlando but if you have a car there are multiple decent locations off site.
All in all, a good stay- pricey but worth it.

I stayed here for the weekend while attending a music concert in Orlando. Great staff, very helpful and courteous from the moment you arrive. Lived up to my expectations of what to expect at the ritz. Extremely family oriented hotel but i guess everything in Orlando is, there were kids everywhere. Great golf course and a beautiful pool.

Room Tip: Lake view rooms are nice although all have a decent view
