Like most Ritz Carltons, this property is a beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. Our room was luxurious and comfortable. However, the service was not what we expected for a Ritz. My husband and I arrived first, and we were specific in letting the front desk know that our son and his girlfriend would be checking in later, with a different confirmation number. In spite of this, when they arrived, the front desk personnel checked them into OUR room. If it wasn't for the Do Not Disturb sign we had put on the door and the fact that we had double-locked it from within, there might have been an uncomfortable incident! Next morning, the buffet breakfast in the lobby was a disaster. While waiting for a table for 20 minutes-- even though there were many empty, but dirty tables--about 10 different "managers" kept asking us if we were being helped. When we replied "No," they would walk away to find someone else to ask us the same question! But no one bothered to clean off a table in order to accommodate us. Finally we got a table, but had to desperately flag someone down just to get coffee and juice. There was plenty of staff, but no one seemed to know what their role was and no one was helping the guests! At least this was at a buffet or we certainly would have gone hungry. It was totally absurd and not what you expect at a Ritz Carlton, especially for the prices they charge.
In contrast, our dinner at Norman's restaurant was wonderful; the food was delicious and the staff was extremely attentive.

We went for Memorial Day Weekend with 12 year old twins, and extended family. Family activities were planned all day, and included cupcake decorating. The kids had a blast. We all felt pampered and entertained. The hotel even had fireworks that rivaled any small town's on the 4th of July.

The staff and management of this hotel have it down. We were traveling with a 2 year old and the rest of our family.
Room service was great and they had a very kid friendly menu.
Highly recommended for persons of all ages.
