Beautiful views (if you get a high-, lake view suite), it's in the middle of all the action of one of the busiest street of Orlando, Florida: International Drive. The suite is very well equipped. The heated pool is a plus. But beware of the timeshare sharks! They will come you as a sheep offering the world, once you agree to hear them they become wolves! BE AWARE!

Thank you for taking the time to review Westgate Palace. You are correct, we are located centrally, right by Wet-N-Wild, Universal Studios and all the shopping, dining and activity on International Drive. We're pleased that you enjoyed the well equipped suite and heated pool, too!
As you mention, we are a timeshare resort. Our apologies if any of our salespeople made you feel uncomfortable-it's our goal for you and yours to have a wonderful and enjoyable time here.
It's our wish that you come back again to relax and vacation with us.

Sincerely,
David

From check in to checkout everything was great! We only stayed one night on our way to fort Lauderdale. The front desk clerk assisted us in making dinner reservations at fish bones and gave us a card for free drinks. The restaurant was one of the best we have ever ate at. The room was well furnished and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will be back.

Firstly if this is a palace i would never want to be a king. It is currently under construction so there are no photo opps anywhere. There front desk lady was very nice we requested late check out and there was no problem with her putting in our request for that as well as a lake view. When we got to the doors are cards wouldn't work, then we got to our room and the card barely worked with a jiggle of the handle to open up to the tiniest 2 bdr I've ever seen. It was like we stepped into a 1995 cruise ship. The floors were this ugly emerald green marble and the windows were dirty & small. The "master" bedroom was tiny you couldn't use the sink with the bedroom door open. The shower was like a phone booth.

Here's where the kicker comes in.

We finally laid down in our jail cell only to feel a large amount of crumbs and we then noticed the sheets hadn't been changed. Can you imagine my feelings at this point? I called about 40 times to the front desk, housekeeping and even security until someone managed to answer. After another 30 minutes they came and changed the sheets. Only to bring some with holes in them. And they offered us free WiFi. Really I can get free wifi at starbucks why couldn't I get it free anyway?

Managed to fall asleep, in the AM while looking for a mixing bowl to make pancakes (FYI they don't have nonstick pans, the plates are these cheap glass floral plates) I didn't find a mixing bowl but I did find a ROACH. I was completely disgusted at this point. I called the front desk, who transferred me to management who asked if I wanted Pest Control. Heck No I don't want pest control I'm checking out and I want a full refund. After the manager argued with me he claims he'll give me a 1 time courtesy refund. Are you kidding me? Your "palace" had unchanged sheets & a roach and that's all you could do offer me 50% refund because I apparently was supposed to uproot my small kids to a hotel in the middle of the night?

I will never stay at a Westgate facility again, no one from customer service even called to say anything.

Perfect have it all hotel for you and your family. Nice and clean. Rooms are very spacious. Living room and kitchen also very spacious. You don't feel yourself in small four wall during vacation. Kids have room to play watch tv ect. and mom and dad have their time and space too.

Westgate Palace is also perfectly located near international Drive.

SO AGAIN THE PERFECT HOTEL FOR FAMILY VACATION!!!!

My family stayed at the Westgate for 3 nights in October.
The pros:
1. Excellent suite. Pictures on the website were very accurate.
2. Convenient location. Very close to Universal Studios.
3. Nice pool.
4. We had no timeshare sales pitch. Maybe we lucked out? Not complaining though.

The CONS (annoyances)
1. No coffee packs, despite having a coffee maker in the room.
2. The cafe in the hotel lobby (to buy coffee) didn't open up until 8AM, but even then it was opened later than that because the attendant was taking her time. (there were other frustrated guests like myself waiting to get a cup of coffee)
3. The pool could only be accessed by going through the main lobby of one tower. The pool access door was locked from the other tower, which is where we stayed.
4. The shower head controls were impossible to operate and adjust. Very frustrating to spend unnecessary time figuring out how to turn the shower on and off. We even asked the housekeeping lady and she didn't know how to turn the shower off.
5. Long line to check in and get room keys.

This resort is close to Disney World, Sea World, Wet N Wild, and Universal Studios. You can avoid paying the high cost of staying at the Disney resorts. If you don't wish to drive you can arrange to take the shuttle but if you want to go and return when you are ready then I recommend taking your car. They are several restaurants in walking distance as well. The front desk staff provided information and directions to attractions, grocery stores, drug stores, etc. to make getting around Orlando very easy. The unit contains a washer and dryer which is good so you don't have to pack as much but the dryer was extremely noisy and we had dry the clothes twice because they were still damp. We decided the purchase food to prepare in the unit's kitchen and all the appliances, cookware, and dishes we needed we there.
Nice pool area and they have paddle boats you can rent for the lake. The is a need to upgrade or replace some of the units appliances and sofa. They housekeeping staff were not pleased when asked to return later as we would be departing for the day, When we returned the unit had not been cleaned. Maintenance came right away when we called to say the sink in the master bedroom was clogged and the DVD players were not working properly. The workout center needs some more updated equipment. Since some families also travel with infants and toddlers as well as other couples, the units they should also have cots or cribs that can be supplied during your stay. Overall,it was not a bad place to stay. I would recommend it for families.

My wife and I took a weekend trip to Orlando after doing research of the area we decided to stay at Westgate Palace Resort because of the convenient location to international drive which allowed easy access for dining, shopping, parks, etc. We also selected the hotel because of the pictures that are listed on their website of their 2 bedroom villa that boast a huge kitchen, living/dining room master bedroom with spa bathtub. What they do not tell you is that they have 2 different types of 2 bedroom villas and the one they stuck us with was terrible the kitchen was awful it was small and all stuffed together what they called a dining room was a table you lift up and two chairs, the master bedroom did not have the spa tub from there advertisement instead it was a tiny room with a queen bed barley any room to walk and a attached bathroom with a tub and showerhead. When we went downstairs to advise this was not the room we booked online, we were handled by such a rude cast of employees who explained there is nothing they could do for us that there are no more of those rooms available and that we should have booked and called in advance and we were then turned away back to that disappointing room, i also explained that i booked the room from there website and it does not say anthing about the two different types of rooms. It was an absolute awful experience. From a resort you would expect a higher level of customer treatment.
