“One of the Best Resorts in Florida”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2009

Stayed here for the 3 days April 22-24 with my husband and 2 children
(4years, & 6). We had an amazing time! First of all the moment you
walk into the lobby you are surrounded by complete luxury! Everything
is the very best, the granite flooring, the furniture, and even the
wonderful smell! Check in was easy and we were upgraded to a room
with a beautiful view on the 16th floor. From our room we could see
Sea World, downtown Orlando, the breath taking pools, the golf course,
and a great sunset. The room was on the smaller side, but comfortable
with beautiful furnishings. The bathroom was large and very
luxurious. The complementary bottled water and smores at night for
the children is a nice touch. The childrens activities were also great (and free). My boys enjoyed making play dough with the staff while I relaxed. The service from the staff was 5 star through out!

The best pool in Orlando
The pools were amazing! There is so much beautiful landscaping here
that you feel like you are on a tropical island! The lazy river is
very long (but slow). You are right next to the Ritz Carlton (they
connect through the convention area, 3 minute walk). The JW shares all
facilities with the Ritz including pools,spa/fitness and golf. So, you can
enjoy both resorts and charge everything to your room

The fitness center is wonderful. It has the highest quality equipment
with your own personal TV screen on each machine. Complementary fresh
fruit is provided and flavored waters.

The Food
We loved the food here! We ate at Quench (the poolside cafe) twice
and it was great! Their Angus Burgers are out of this world. The
food is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The Burgers were
very large and high in quality and came with fruit or salad. When we
first saw the childrens menu we were surprised to see most items for
$9 and $10. But, again the food they brought the children was high in
quality. For $10, my son got a Angus Burger that was slighly smaller
than mine (yet the standard adult size at most other restaurants), my son's
meal also included a beautiful bowl of fruit and a drink. So, the
food was worth the money. We also loved the food at Citron. We did
not like the sushi in the Lounge restaurant.
Golf
Golfing here was pricey, but kids play for free and they do give a
discount for twilight golf. So it was worth while for us. We really
enjoyed the course. We also, enjoyed a morning of just using the
practice range. That is a good deal ($20 for the whole day and they
will let you borrow top of the line clubs).

Overall
Overall we loved this resort!!! We are planning a return trip for next
year. As a side note our vacation was in two segments, the first 3
days at JW and the next 5 at The Grand Floridian. When we saw the GF
and our room we were so disapointed! It was such a step down from the
JW. What you get at the GF is a close location to Magic Kingdom for a very high price. But, we won't be going back to Magic Kingdom or The GF (Magic Kingdom is
best suited for kids under 5). It is unbelievable that Trip Advisor rates The GF 5 stars and the JW 4 stars. The JW and Ritz Carlton are the real 5 star hotels in Orlando. The GF needs are serious remodel (I would currently rate it a 3 star).

Hotel was incredible... loved the lazy pool... right next to the Ritz Carlton... surprisingly JW was a larger property than the Ritz, the golf course in back is definitely 5 stars! Distance to Theme parks is bad to ok... Hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere... If you're a convention attendee, could be a good location, but it still takes 15 minutes depending on traffic on International Blvd.

We booked through SeaWorlds buy 3 and get 2 free. This place was superior in every category. The grounds were immaculate and the pools & lazy river were tucked away in an incredibly well maintained oasis. The staff was courteous and well trained on how to respond to every inquiry and request. We asked for a roll-out bed.....they gave it. We asked for a fridge.....they provided it. We asked for turn down service each night......they provided it. We asked for more towels......they gave us a big stack of 4 extras each day. What's great is that we never saw a room service cart. They staff was seemingly invisible but provided the best room service ever. The beds were made each day, and each night. We gave tips each night, and the housekeeping would make the beds and place our kids stuffed animals on the pillows.......our kids enjoyed it. They bell stand was Johnny-on-the-spot each time we asked for our car to be pulled around. The day we departed, they ported was up to our room within 2 minutes with a cart. Again, I've stayed at some nice hotels such as the (The Ritz-Carlton in San Fran, The Breakers in West Palm, The Pheonician in Scottsdale) and the "Service" at this hotel beat all of them. The outdoor Oasis was incredible. This hotel sits on a huge piece of real estate, so I was able to walk the 1-1.5 mile paved walking path each evening. I don't think you will be disappointed weather you are hosting a wedding, business incentive trip, important client meetings, or trying to impress that special someone.

What a great property! We loved it, the pool area is great, clean and with the lazy river going through all the pools it keeps the water flowing. The rooms were a little small for a JW and not as well kept like the other JW's we have stayed. Very kid friendly, activities all day long for the kids they even have a fire pit they roast smores at night, the pool is open from 7 am to 11 pm which is great when you first arrive. Most families the kids were complaining about going to the parks and not having fun at the pool, nice problem to have.

We just spent 5 days at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes and it was amazing! We had lots of kids activities, an amazing pool, gorgeous gym and beautiful grounds. We didn't go to any parks on this trip and loved every minute at the hotel. And, the restaurants were all wonderful - and kid friendly!! We can't wait to go back!

I stayed at the J.W. Marriott (Grande Lakes) for a quick business meeting. While I didn't have a lot of time outside of my business meetings to explore, I thought the property was very nice and well maintained. The front desk clerk was really wonderful, and upgraded my room to one with a balcony overlooking the pool and courtyard area.

The room itself was very comfortable and clean. The bedding was very comfortable. Overall, a very nice property with a very friendly staff.

Someone in charge knows how to inspire their staff, because everyone, from the room maid, to the busboys; front desk staff to the concierge, treated us like VIPs, which we are not. We left a small tip every day for the maid and got a sweet handwritten note. The buffet is by far one of the best and varied spread we've ever seen; and this is good food! The gym is free, the spa is beautiful, and if you ask you can get a great rate w/ some package. This may be a convention hotel, but it's clearly acting like a resort and we sure felt delighted we chose the J.W. Marriott. I wish they offered free internet (they don't, it's $15 per day w/ tax), and I also wish they didn't charge for self parking, another $15. Still, we would come back in a minute.
