Today (June 7 2014) we walked in 11:55am and were seated 12pm promptly. The server was very nice and introduced that this was the best in Disney. We were there several yrs ago and was satisfied. This time My daughter and I were on diet. We asked the size of the lamb dish, she said, 7oz. I said, 'we'll share the dish.' My husband ordered a burger and we ordered a green salad to share. When the lamb was served, it was divided and nicely put on 2 dishes. We were very delighted as no other restaurant has done that before. She said because we would like to share the dish and they were happy to do that for us. They went out of their way and saved us the cutting and distributing and made our lunch very enjoyable. I would call this ‘service’. The salad, bread and food is really good. (if the lamb is a bit less medium well would be even better). The service is excellent and atmosphere is old fashion and very Hollywood and enjoyable. I believe the Brown Derby is still the best in Disney, as the waitress said.
(Originally, we planned to go to the Hollywood and Vine for Character dinning, but it was fully booked. We were in Hollywood and Vine before. But the food and atmosphere is no comparison to the Derby). Surely will go again! Esther Leung from Hong Kong.

For years my husband and I have toyed with the idea of booking the "Dine with an Imagineer" lunch at the Hollywood Brown Derby. Would it be worth the money? Which type of Imagineer would we get? (My husband is a creative director and very interested in the creative front end of development and story creation more so than the operational/engineering side of things.) This trip we decided to take the plunge. When we arrived 15 minutes early (as suggested), we checked in at the front desk and were given personalized Disney event name badges. Promptly at 12:00, the group of 12 guests were gathered from the lobby and escorted through the beautiful restaurant to the private Bamboo Room where we were introduced to our Imagineer. The next three hours were filled with fantastic food (great selections to choose from and truly more food than most can eat for lunch) and great, lively conversation. Although our Imagineer was not from the creative front end of development, he has been with the company for decades and had fascinating stories to share. He answered as many questions as he was allowed to (anything he was involved with that was not yet public knowledge was off limits). The three hours flew by. The conversation was so interesting, we probably could have sat and conversed easily for another hour. Prior to leaving, we were presented with a commemorative plate signed by our Imagineer. It was a fun event, the food was exceptional, and we would certainly think about doing it again sometime in the future. For those who truly love Disney and are fascinated with the behind the scenes, this is worth it. Because this is a limited offering, if you are interested, be sure to book early.

If your on the meal plan it costs 2 table credits per person. U get a main meal and desert and we had to order our 1 year old who can't be on the meal plan cuz she's under 2 her own kids meal. The adult meals weren't kid friendly to share. The main course was good but I don't think worth the price. Desert we had the creme brulee ,blue berry, a banana cream and a mocha one all were great.
