“Nicest restaurant we have visited !”
Reviewed 9 August 2012

We came to jiko at the start of our second week and loved it so much we returned twice more in the next week and a half! The food was delicious and exciting and staff very knowledgeable and attentive. Every menu choice we tried was phenomenal especially the wild boat tenderloin and the taste of India. The food was excellent quality for the price and the south African wine complimented the food well. All in all a perfect experience !

“#7? Really?”
Reviewed 9 August 2012

This was a ver nice restaurant, albeit crowded and noisey. however, i did not think it was by any means a gourmet place to eat. service was attentive, and food was tastey and eclectic. I think there are many better restaurants that are not as expensive. but it is Disney and convenient in the AKL.

“Go to Boma instead!”
Reviewed 8 August 2012

Inside the same hotel is a restaurant called Boma. It is a buffet, so it loses some of the decorum that comes with a restaurant like Jiko, but the value is MUCH better for the food you are getting. Plus you get to try multiple dishes and just work your way down the line through all of the different tastes. The quality is almost the same in my experiences there

“Excellent food , service and atmosphere.”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

We arrived late due to the weather. The staff still greeted and seated us. The meal was fantastic. Our waiter was knowledgeable , friendly and looked after our table. He made us feel like family. I believe he was from New York.
We ate at many of the fine dining restaurants on our trip. We will definitely return here.

“A Fine Restaurant”
Reviewed 1 August 2012

Had our first meal at Jiko tonight. The flatbread appetizer was great. I ordered the duck entre. It took a while to arrive, and when it did the sauce and taste were excellent BUT it was so tough I couldn't cut it with the steak knife- chewing it was out of the question. To their significant credit, when I told the server about my duck, she strongly urged me to return it and get a different entre. She recommended the pork medallions which were outstanding. She also poured an extra glass of wine for me. Dessert after the entre, the cheese cake, was excellent. So it was a very good meal but I don't think the duck ever should have left the kitchen.
