My mother and I stayed here in March of 2007 for five days. We are annual Disney vacationers and have stayed at many places. During this trip we stayed at HGVC in one-bedroom unit and were extremely pleased.

About us - We love Disney (hey I'm named after the Mouse), but we steer clear of Disney resorts. She is a single and active Senior Citizen. I am a single, 30-something. We go to Orlando to shop, eat, and play.

Initial Thoughts - The location has gated security. This was very important to us. We wanted to make sure that our car was reasonably secure. The site is relatively large and there is no such thing as 100 percent safe, but we weren't afraid by our surroundings. In addition, we were directly located behind the Premium Outlet Mall and across the street from Publix. The grounds were pristine and well maintained. The only thing is that, after the parks closed, the parking was a nightmare. We did find parking, but still...It was a nightmare. LOL

Check In - The line was a little long, but we were able to use the Hilton card for express check-in.

The Room - The unit was very clean and had all of the necessary amenitities (kitchen and bath). The appliances worked and were clean. We were not afraid to eat off with the utensils and plates. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. It was very quiet. We didn't hear a thing.

The Amenities - Our unit had a Bose surround sound system. It was very nice because we did rent a movie one night. We also took advantage of the on-site photographer and had drinks at the poolside bar.

We were so pleased that it quickly became the benchmark. We liked it so much that we are planning a return visit next week.

Reading the Reviews on Tripadvisor had us wondering why the resort was so highly rated. As soon as we arrived, it was clear from the friendliness of the staff as to the reason so many recommend the resort.

The cheery welcome and escort by buggy to the room was matched by the high quality furnishings and standard of upkeep. Normally one would expect to see signs of wear and tear in a room, but this was not the case. Knowing that this is a Grand Vacations Resort it would be reasonable to expect an owner arriving being given a good room but having booked via the Hilton Honours website, we were presently surprised by the standard of our Studio Apartment.

The grounds and public areas were immaculately kept and we were pleased to see discrete, yet efficient, security in place - particularly as there were reports on the TV about home invasions occurring in the Orlando area at the time.

The location right next door to an Outlet Mall was a bonus, as was the supermarket and drugstore across the road.

If there is only one setback it is the lack of adequate indoor dining facilities. When we were there, a cold front came through and whilst Florida is described as the sunshine state, having to dine and drink outside is not fun.

One tip is about traffic. On Sundays the traffic using Vineland Avenue to access the Outlet Mall and the nearby church can make accessing SR 535 (the route to Disney and the I4) a bit of a nightmare as it is single file.

We will certainly return

I loved the hilton grand, I was traveling with my teenage son on my own and always felt safe and comfortable. We have stayed at a number of hotels in orlando and this is the best, The one bedroom apartment was fanstastic and very clean and spacious. We visited universal studio's on mears transport from the hotels, it was 6 dollars round trip. We also visited sea world and aquatica on the I trolly with no problems. Mardi gras was great. The outlet mall is very close with private gate for hotel guests. The supermarkets was a little walk away. The pool was excellent and service at the hotel was good. Well worth a visit. If ringing home to uk, buy international phone card from publix and use phone's in sea world and aquatica with 100 mins for $5.

We booked our trip through Expedia as a bundled package. After reading the reviews and looking at the hotel photos here on TripAdvisor, we decided this was the place for us.

I must say we were stunned when we pulled into the hotel driveway. As gorgeous as it looks in photos, they really do not do this place justice. This resort and the grounds it sits on are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

From the minute you drive through the gates, to the time when you leave to go home you are treated like a celebrity. The staff, is wonderful, courteous, and friendly as can be.

We stayed in a studio suite, which is basically a standard hotel room. But let me assure you, there is nothing "standard" about it. The room has a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, and sink. Silverware, plates, and glasses are all provided. The room has an LCD television, ceiling fan, screened in balcony, granite counters in kitchenette and bathroom. The room also comes with complimentary wireless and LAN high speed internet access.

As I mentioned earlier, the grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. The hotel has two pools. The main pool has a grill and bar, and a wait staff that will bring food and drinks to you as you soak up the sun. Simply raise the flag on your chair, and they will be there to take your order in minutes. Don't feel like bringing money to the pool? No problem...they can charge any and all food and drinks to the room.

The second pool is called the Lagoon Pool. It has a Pizza Hut Express and is more of a "low key" pool. At night this is a good pool to go to if you just want to be alone and want some privacy.

Our week at the HGVC was perfect, and I would not change one thing about this place. The location of this hotel was great too, as it is 5 minutes from Disney, and about 10-15 from Universal. There is a Publix right across the street which was handy, as well as a McDonalds which was a perfect option each morning for a quick and easy breakfast before the parks.

One thing nobody ever mentioned on here that should be mentioned is in regards to the toll road. Between the airport and hotel you have to take a toll road, and pay two tolls. The tolls are $0.75 each, which is not a big deal.....but it's good to know that you need to have $1.50 ready on the way to and from the airport.

The parking here can be a little tricky in the evenings. We found that anytime after 8:00 PM parking in front of your building was next to impossible. We usually had to park clear on the other side of the complex, which is a pretty good distance. While slightly annoying, the walk isn't too bad. In fact the walk around the lagoon at night can be quite serene.

This is easily one of the nicest places in all of Orlando, and if you are trying to decide on a place to stay, the search ends now. Stay here.....you WILL NOT regret it!!

I was impressed with this hotel. I chose this after seeing it was ranked highly among Orlando hotels, and when my family and I stayed there, I could see why it had received great reviews. Very clean, and the rooms were beautiful. The exercise room wasn't the best I've seen, parking wasn't always easy to find, and the service at the deli was bad, but these two details were not enough to take away from the overall experience.
