“Nice resort to check out”
Reviewed 22 July 2013 via mobile

I stayed here for 3 nights with my husband. The property is very big and well kept! We had a great view and could see part of the golf resort. This resort falls into the deluxe category.

It is older but has a charming theme. I am glad we stayed once but do not know if I would return. This resort is very close to downtown disney and has 2 pool areas. If you can get a great deal on this resort go here but I think spending extra and maybe staying at animal kingdom lodge would be a better spend. The employees are great and there are hidden Mickey's for those who have a great eye!

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is an amazing mix of quiet and bustling all rolled into one beautiful resort! We spent our first night in a Deluxe Studio located in the Paddock. The room was spacious and, as always, well appointed. The pool area that is located in the Paddock is really nice. The pool has a beach entry and only gets about 4' deep. Seating and tanning space is very generous with umbrellas for shade. There is a really cool slide for kids of all ages! Kids under 48" in height have their own wet play area, sadly it was closed for maintenance on the day we went to use it. There is a lovely bridge that traverses a large lake which takes you from the Paddock to the Carriage House which is where check-in/check-out is located as well as another large pool area, arcade and The Spa. The Disney Vacation Club Preview Center is also located there!

For the remainder of our stay we moved into a very nice 1 bedroom unit located in the Congress Park area. Congress Park is the closest to Downtown Disney, just a short walk to everything it has to offer! The pool area for Congress Park is small with only a small DRY play area for children. If you are traveling with little ones, it is best that you not stay at Congress Park. Now for the accommodations, what can I say? This place is fantastic! Full kitchen with most everything you will need for meal preparation. Dishes and a dishwasher too! The common area has a queen fold out sofa, dining table for 6, high chair and additional seating for 2 at a low bar which faces the kitchen. The convenience of a washer and dryer was priceless and we sure did use them! There were 2 bath areas, one was a shared space with a separate toilet area. Single sink and walk in shower. Through a door was a jacuzzi tub, additional sink space and a closet which was connected to the bedroom. The place is good size, so much so that the first night after everyone had gone to bed I crept in the dark to take a shower and found myself standing in the closet instead! We also made good use of the vacuum cleaner which is stored in the closet.

All in all, Saratoga Springs is one of the quietest resorts that I have stayed at, on property. Yet bus stops and recreation are a few steps away. I highly recommend this resort to everyone!

Room Tip: Congress Park for Downtown Disney visitors!

Wonderful place, perfect location, everything you need and some

This is a huge resort with everything you need, 1 large pool at the 'hub' of the resort and then 2 additional pools, pool furniture extremely comfortable, resort is extremely clean, buses running between disney parks through the resort all day, walking distance to the Downtown Disney and about 10-15 minute walk to the restaurants at the Cross Roads.
Restaurants do close early though - 9pm, I've stayed here twice, once in a 2 bedroom villa and then again in a studio, studio was big enough for the 3 of us, bathroom is lovely, power shower is extremely powerful, fridge, toaster and microwave as standard, laundry is down by the smaller pools.
2 bedroom villa, full kitchen, lounge, dinner, bathroom with separate shower, corner jacuzzi bath, washing machine and tumble drier and small balcony with table & chairs, Love the 'Key to Kingdom' card instead of a doorkey, can use this to charge things from park to your room and they'll deliver your purchases for you, if you are doing a primarily DIsney holiday, this is the place for you.
1 downside, tried to charge us $150 for using the phone, but manager sorted things out for us and we paid for the calls and not the surcharge

Room Tip: I like the rooms at the Paddocks, a long walk from check in but the pool is good, area is quiet and...

We have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable 12 nights at Saratoga Springs. Just a few points for you to look out for:

We chose a 2-bed apartment and were allocated 'The Carousel' which turned out to be the furthest block of accommodation from the main area (breakfast location and largest pool). This is probably fine if you hire a car although we decided to rely on the Disney buses which means that, unless you are going straight to a park, you'll need to get a bus to breakfast! The bus service is good but you could wait up to 20 minutes before one arrives and you need to make sure you get on the right one... If you are in the Carousel you are close to the entrance of the resort and very close to Downtown Disney (handy in the evenings) but, once you hop on the bus, you trek around the whole park doing pick-ups before you exit for Downtown. A five minute trip can take about 20-30 mins. There is also little explanation of which bus to catch for in-resort travel so make sure you ask when you check-in.

The accommodation is good - not luxury but very comfortable. As a family with two teenagers we'd booked two bedrooms and the kids room had two queen size beds. There's also a washer-dryer (cooker and dishwasher) plus free wi-fi. Saratoga Springs is a huge resort so bus it or not, be prepared for lots of walking! This can be pretty tiring when you have been walking all day around the theme parks too.

The breakfast at Artists Palette is 'ok' although not on a par with the local diners. All are served on paper plates with plastic cutlery and the environment is again 'ok' but not special. The Disney dining plan works really well and the choice of restaurants for table service meals is excellent - we'd recommend downloading the App and booking as far in advance as possible. It was very hard to get into T-Rex or Planet Hollywood for example.

The team or Cast members at the resort are really excellent and nothing is too much trouble for any of them. The team who 'entertain' at the Pool at the Springs were just wonderful - we don't really go in for lots of organised activities but even we ended up playing the pool-side bingo!

The golf at Buena Vista is excellent although we would expect preferential rates given we were staying right next door.

Overall, a good choice for the full-on Disney experience!

We've stayed here twice. It's been clean and relaxing both times. The main pool has some great slides that the kids enjoy. There is a mini slide for under 5 or so that were perfect for toddlers. So stinking cute to watch lil ones take the plunge.

The new-ish pool area and slide are amazing. We skipped the main pool all together and hopped the bus for the newer area. (I can't remember for the life of me where it is located). The splash park is adorable and I have never seen so many adults (myself included) enjoy a hotel pool as I have here. Too much fun.

We love the villas with three rooms and a pull out sofa. It enables our entire group to stay together. Great for the cousins.

There is a nice sized kitchen and a full dining room table. We were able to cook a full breakfast birthday party for my son.

It's probably just me, but the closer the resort is to The Magic Kingdom, the more stressful the air is. I would choose this resort over any of the Magic Kingdom resorts in a heartbeat. I enjoy being a bit further from the action when it's time to rest.

And there is horse decor everywhere!

I don't usually give a bad review and this is not a bad review. We checked in early and our room was not ready, no problem. We gave our phone number and were told that that we would get a text when ready, we were given our keys to the room and were told it was in the Congress Section which is the section we requested. We got two texts telling us something stupid but no text to tell us our room was ready. I called SSR about 6pm and was told our room was ready and told us our room number. We decided to go to DTD and eat and go to hotel later. When we got back it must have taken us a half hour to find the room. Congress area was 1500s to 1800s. Our room was the 1600s but could not find it. I met a visitor and only for him telling me that 1600s was the second floor I would still be there looking for it. The room was OK, clean etc. nothing fancy. Paid really good money for this hotel and it was only ok, I am sorry we did not stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown which is nearly as close to DTD as SSR and would have saved alot of money. On our first morning they decided to powerwash the hallways and stairs and we really wanted a lie in but did not get it due to the noise.

We have stayed here several times. Each time we appreciate the beauty of this resort. It is a sprawling resort, even more so with the Treehouse Villas added on. We have not been fortunate to get into a Treehouse Villa yet. We had a two bedroom unit. We only had a one bedroom for our reservation but were able to upgrade at check in. The 2 bedroom unit has a washer/dryer in the room and a small kitchen area. The kitchen is small and even just two people in the kitchen is crowded. There is not a lot of storage space. We tend to eat some meals in the room, so more space is helpful. There is a bench at the table and only two chairs to add. We had 6 total so we could not all sit at the table at the same time. We do enjoy the balcony and many water views. The bedrooms are beautiful and had ample drawer/closet space. There is a jacuzzi tub in the master bath. There is a safe also in the master closet. There is enough space to keep our luggage out of sight. The couch in the living room is not very comfortable to sit on. There are 3 tv's in the 2 bedroom unit.

We stayed at Congress Park on this trip. It was not that far from the main building and more exciting pools. I thought the walk would be longer. The quiet pool was boring according to our kids. Congress Park is opposite of Downtown Disney so we could hear some of the excitement at night when we were out on the porch, but did not hear it inside the room.

Saratoga Springs is walking distance to Downtown Disney. There is also a water taxi to Downtown DIsney. Busses go to DTD and all the parks.

The main building includes the front desk, a fast serve restaurant as well as a sit down restaurant, a small store, and the spa. Saratoga Springs has a golf course which adds to the beauty of the resort. There are many activities available throughout the week including pool games and nightly movies. Two pools had food available. We enjoy just walking around the resort enjoin the scenery.
