Stayed here on 6/6/09 for a week.
Resort is in a great location - right near Caribbean Beach Resort on Disney property. Since it's right on Disney property you don't see all the strip malls everywhere when you come and go from your room (like you do when you stay on RT 192...).
The resort is beautiful and well maintained. Pools are nice, they look bigger in the pictures though. There's mini-golf, shuffleboard, volleyball, playground, and an activities center with pool tables. LOTS to do - and many scheduled activities for kids.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom deluxe in the Torre Del Mar on 5th floor - lake view. Had a great fireworks view (although wasn't in the room most times the fireworks went off). I wasnt crazy about the furniture - it looked good but wasn't very functional. Chairs were heavy like cement weights and not comfortable. Jacuzzi in master bath was nice. Balcony was great to just sit and relax and watch the sunset.
If you stay Torre Del Mar its a pretty far walk to the main building, where the main pool and activities center is. I would prefer to stay either at the Viento building. And they are constructing a new building next door - so it doesnt look so good and there is a lot of noise during the day.More
