“Good value self catering resort”
Reviewed 19 March 2011

Arrived at the Lake Buena Vista Resort village for a 11 nights stay at 2 p.m. room was not ready yet and I was told to check back in about an hour. We checked out the pool in the meantime which was excellent. Zero entry pool with pirate ship waterslide. Pool towels were provided but a sign posted mentioned no outside food and drinks permitted. There was a pool bar with quite high prices. Pool was not too crowded. When I checked back with at the reception there was a line and only two people checking in people. We were provided with four room keys for our party and a bunch of coupons for the outlet mall next door. Two of the key cards did not work.

Our three bedroom three bathroom suite was in building one on the fourth floor. Building one has a game room for kids, the gym and a separate smaller pool area. Buidling one does not have a parking garage on the first two floors like the newer buidlings so it was outside parking only. There is some parking in front of the entrance of the building available but most of the times we had to parallel park in the street which was also okay.

The hallways are interior, however, the carpets look quite old and could use replacement. Upon entering our suite we were welcomed by lots of masking room deodorizing spray. The suite was very clean but the furnishings were very torn (Carpet, sofa, furniture in bedrooms). Furnishings was exactly as it looked on the pictures in the internet including the old-fashioned (non flat screen) TV in living room. There also TV sets in all bedrooms. Bathrooms were okay. The bath rooms in master bedrooms had jacuzzi tubs which was very nice. There were three sets of towles in the master bathrooms which are not replaced for free during your stay. Towel exchange is $5 and full clean for our three bedrooms suite was $40. We did not have our suite cleaned during our stay so I cannot comment on this service. There is a washer/dryer combo in the suites but the dryer is no good. We were better off airdrying our towles on the balcony. The kitchen is well equipped with fullsize fridge but at least our coffee maker was in very bad shape. There is free wired internet access in the suites. LAN cable is provided from the reception. WiFi is available in the lobby and pool area.

The Lake Buena Vista Resort is a self catering resort and we got exactly what we expected from reading the reviews. We got a good advance payment rate booking from the hotel's website which was about 40% of the rack rate. Would stay there again even though the suites could use some updating. The resort is close to Disney and right next to a smaller outlet mall (not comparable to premium outlets). Walmart is only about a mile away but a rental car is in every case strongly recommended.

Thought I should write a little review about this hotel.... Now I'm a fussy traveler and I was so Happy :O) .... Last year we had a family holiday and I mean family there were 13 of us all ranging from 60-2yrs old we had 3 apartments between us all. They were all clean, well equipped with all that you would need to be fair it was a bit like home from home. The apartments were huge. The pool was great and we were really happy to let the older kids 17-10 go to the pool on their own really safe. Car parking was fine we did read that there was some issue before we went but not once on our 19 day stay did we have an issue. We did pay for the bed and towels to be changed as we were there for such a long time. We all managed to also get rooms that overlooked the Disney Fireworks so should we get home before the parks closed we did not miss a thing always got to see the fireworks..... all in all a great hotel close to everything..... We had a great time and it will be a holiday we will all remember for ever....

We checked in on Saturday night Feb.26 at around 9:30pm and although late the front desk attendent was friendly, courteous and very accomodating.
This is our second time at the resort and I can't say enough about the cleanliness of the rooms, grounds, pool area ect.
All the staff are very friendly including the great people at the Pool Bar and Grill...cheers!
The Expedia travel desk on site was very convenient for bookinh the shuttles to the park and the shuttles were clean, friendly drivers and on time.
We have a 6 and 9 yr old and they love the resort! The pool is very fun for all ages and again the staff at the resort from Manager to pool staff make you feel like home!
Thanks for a great vacay...see you next year!

We had a fantastic 9 days at this resort with extended family. The 2, 2 bedroom apartments were great, 2 bathrooms, tv's in all rooms and balconies. The service and staff were great. The only critisism is the carpets in hallways and apartments could do with an upgrade as there was a slight musty smell. We had a couple of problems which were solved quickly. If we were to travel to Orlando again this would be our choice of accommodation. The children had a ball in the pirate ship pool!

This the fifth or sixth year in a row we have stayed at this facility. We enjoy the location. It"s close to everything. We"ve always found the rooms clean. A most important consideration is that we have always felt safe.

Stayed 8 nights at the LBVRS location in March. Rooms are spacious and quiet. This hotel/condo resort has a great location and is fairly priced. The pool area is nice. The drinks at the pool bar are a bit over-priced as is the food. But overall, a good place to stay.

We stayed at this place back in 2007 when it was first open and came back this year. It was a great place to stay back then - NOW, it's even better!! The pools/whirlpools are wonderful. The staff is very polite and helpful. The eating establishments are nice with good food and friendly staff. The best part of this place is the rooms and the value for the price. A family can spready out and enjoy privacy, yet stay together. The facilities allow for cooking which help to save money. The hotel is in close location to grocery stores/pharmacy and shopping and yet close to the major attractions which are easy to find. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I hope they keep their rates affordable and their rooms as nice as they are. We will stay there every time we are in Orlando!!
