We stayed in a three bedroom apartment here which was perfect for my husband, myself and our two older children. Lots of room for everyone to have their own space. Everything you needed was there to make it a perfect home away from home. We choose not to use housekeeping which was great to have as an option. There was a dishwasher, washer and dryer - which made it easy for us to take care of our own needs. This also added to the feeling of "home" away from home.
Parking was included for our rental car and the location was ideal - not far to drive anywhere!
The master bedroom with its own bathroom could be closed off from the rest of the apartment.
This was a nice touch - especially with the jacuzzi tub - great for me time! The rooms were well maintained - definitely a lived in look - which was great - we wanted a great place to relax in between shopping and the parks - this was perfect! We are already looking forward to staying here on our next trip to Florida!

Room Tip: we were in building 5 - great view of the fireworks at night!

We have just returned from our second stay at this hotel and we were just as pleased as we were in 2009, our first visit. The apartments are extremely spacious, and are really well equipped. We stayed in a two bedroomed apt, with two separate bathrooms. The master bedroom is huge, with jacuzzi and walk in shower, which I couldn't get my two teenagers out of!

Despite the hotel being extremely busy, the pool areas are always quiet and a fantastic place to relax after a busy day in one of the parks. The pirate ship pool is great fun, particularly for the younger children.

The hotel is ideally located, literally minutes from Disney and not too far from Universal.

Staff in the hotel were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

I have been to Florida five times now, and this is by far the best hotel I have stayed in. I would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Room Tip: The blocks facing the pirate ship pool are the best, but the views of Orlando from the other sides a...

After a few teething problems we found this place to be perfect, it's really close to disney and very close to the I-4 so universal was only 15 mins away, the rooms are big an the pools are great,

only issue I had was the on site store was expensive but there is a Walmart half a mile away the staff themselves were great and very helpful.

Very good for families and groups there is an Irish pub showing live football and the rooms have some decent channels

Overall great stay and great service

We stayed for two weeks in the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village and Spa and had a great time. The actual accomodation was fab. We stayed in a two bed apartment in building number 5 and were really impressed with our "flat". Everything you needed was supplied to ensure that your stay was comfortable as possible. This included a washing machine and tumble dryer which were a godsend and a dishwasher. There was a massive fridge/freezer which also had an ice maker. We had a coffee maker, oven, microwave oven as well as a vacuum cleaner, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. A knife block and scissors and even a bottle opener was included. As well as the appliances also supplied were the cleaning products to use with them. Only small ones though so you will need buy more products for the entire length of your stay.

There were some lovely touches which also helped to impress, such as the swan towels and even a note pad and pen by the phone. All this attention to detail is really appreciated.

The free shuttles to the parks were also really good. They were really simple to book and the coaches themselves were always clean and on time. The only limitation was the fact that you had only one shuttle out and back to universal and seaworld. If you wanted to go to the parks later or come home earlier then you would have to take a taxi which can be expensive.

Walmart is just a short distance from the hotel and although you could walk the distance, there is a 6 lane road to cross and there is no pedestrian crossing. The best thing to do is drive or catch a taxi which cost us 7 dollars. There is a shop onsite but it is very expensive.

The pool is great fun and there were plenty of sunloungers available but this may be due to the fact that we went out of peak season. Towels are also supplied at the poolside which is also another nice touch.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

On the negative side, there is not very much to do onsite of an evening. There is Frankie Farrell's restaurant and the main pool is open until 10pm, but that is it. You will need to either drive or take a taxi to the nightlife.

We cannot comment on the Spa services we didn't use them.

Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel as a good base for families.

My wife and I booked this resort back at the start of 2011. Most of the reviews back then were positive. As our trip to Orlando got closer we looked again and the reviews were, well less favourable.
I wouldn't say the resort wasn't flawless, but it was pretty good.
We found the place without too much problem, check in was quick and we were given a 2 bedroom apartment in block 5. The room was on the 12th floor, so we had a great view of Disney.
The room was spacious, clean, great beds and had great access to the pirate ship pool, just what a 4yr old needs. I really can't fault our room, we didn't have any broken, worn or dirty stuff. Everything electric worked just fine. If I have a criticism it would be the curtains are way too thin, useless really.
Outside the room The pool was great and the snack bar and bar poolside were good value, the staff helpfull. However the convenience store was not good value, a bottle of wine that is £8 in Waitrose back in the UK was £20 in this store. It was open late, that was about it really. The onsite Frankie Farrells pub is ok, if you are eating there go for the fish, the rest was just ok. If you want to stock up on food there is a Wal Mart just along the road, if you want to go a bit further there is a Publix too.
The resort is just 15 mins from Disney, downtown Disney may less than 5mins. We found it pretty easy to get everywhere in Orlando from this resort.
The Good- The room, location, friendly staff
The Average- The curtains/drapes
The Poor- Room cleaning, we paid for the room to be cleaned, it took 3 attempts for them to get it right!
The Funny- The staff leaving you helpful voicemail messages and getting them wrong or mixed up. I wish i had recorded them!

All being well we will be back in a couple of years.

Room Tip: High up on block 5 facing Disney. A wee bit of road noise but nothing to worry about.

This is definitely an affordable place to stay near Disney. You really are just around the corner from Disney. We stayed in Building 3 that had a nice view of the pool and the pirate ship. With the hotel being completely booked, it really was pretty quiet probably since everyone was exhausted from walking around Disney all day. Not only are you close to Disney but there is also just about have the pick of any store or restaurant chain nearby. Not only was it budget friendly but the roomy suite had just about any convenience you could need - washer/dryer, full size refrigerator, etc. Beds were comfortable. A great family friendly location - the pirate ship pool is pretty cool. We got a rental car and didn't use the shuttle service. We thought it would be easier to travel between all the parks if we had a car and not have to depend on their shuttle service.

The downsides
1) Parking can be a little tough if you come back late and need to park in the garage. They are pretty tight spots and sometimes you just don't want to risk squeezing into those spots with a rental.
2) Surprisingly no soap when we arrived in the room. Figured that out when went to wash my hands and ended up using shampoo in the meantime. They will provide soap if you ask. We know it wasn't just us as we traveled with a group and no one had soap in their rooms either.
3) It is showing its age. It is cleanish. I have such an aversion to those old flowery bedspreads they use in many places. That was the first to come off the bed before we went to sleep.
4) If you want maid service, you are going to have to pay. After spending all the money we did at Disney, we were sure to keep our room clean ourselves so we didn't have to pay for maid service as well.

Room Tip: Enjoyed the view of the pool from Building 3

I stayed here for my most recent trip to Disney. As with any place you stay there are always good, average, and bad parts. I have stayed a lot of places in my travels and my opinion might be skewed since I am a custom to staying at very nice hotels. However, this is my honest review.

Good Things - Very close to the entrance to Disney, we could see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom, located right next to an outlet mall (the premium outlet is just less than 5 minutes away), they do have a little grocery on site (prices are extremely high - $2.99 for a roll of paper towels), there is a pizza hut on site, 2 additional places to eat, very quiet venue, there is a washer and dryer in the condo, tv's had lots of channels and close parking to rooms.

Average/Bad Things - hotel carpet looks dirty, the chairs in the sitting area were tattered/worn, there was mold on the shower curtain, the tub wouldn't drain (my sister had to de-clog), they charge extra if you want your room cleaned each day (and depending on the amount of cleaning you want is how much you will pay), beds were hard, the kitchen supplies were lacking (I purchased items from the little grocery to make pancakes and didn't have a flipper so I had to improvise), the top rack of the dishwasher was off track and we couldn't close the dishwasher to run it so I had to fix it, the turntable on the microwave was broken so it wouldn't turn, and in the master bed/bath there is no seperate toilet (so if you have to go to the bathroom you have to do it infront of whom ever you are with unless you ask them to leave the bedroom)

Room Tip: There is not really a bad view from this hotel.
