“Great Holiday”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

Stayed here for two weeks in August with my wife and two kids. This is our second stay. We had requested a fireworks view in Block 5 but it wasn't available when we checked in and we were in Block 2. The very helpful front desk upgraded us a pool view in Block 3 for free which was great and we enjoyed it better than the fireworks view we had on our first visit. The two bedroom apartment has everything you could possibly need and the Wall Mart close by makes it easy to stock up on groceries etc. Loved the pool and the kids stayed in it every night until it closed after we got back from long days doing the parks . A brilliant location for both Disney and Universal. I cant recommend this hotel highly enough and it is great value for money. We will be back again.

I left a remote for my dvd player in room 1709. I called, left a message with housekeeping, then called again and talked to the reception - nobody called me back, not even to say "we haven't found it". - which should have been found, I know I left it there. This is not a nice treatment of your recurring guest.
Sincerely

Overall a very friendly service but the hotel failed to replace the safe in the apartment having promised us that they would. We have stayed here in the past and have no complaints before. Good size bedrooms and living spaces, kitchen is well equiped with washing amenities. Having a washer and dryer in the apartment was most convenient as it meant we did not have a big load of dirty washing to take home.

We visited LBV resort as a family of 5 and were thrilled with the HUGE space we had in our room - perfect for everyone to have their space.
The 2 pools offer a 'fun' pool with both shallow and deeper water with a bar and a quieter pool which is deeper for more serious swimmers or kids who just want a bit more water to splash in!
The resort also offers a small shop for the essentials combined with a takeaway Pizza Hut which we used more than once! We also visited Frankie Farrell's Irish Bar/Restaurant on the site which offered good food at very reasonable prices.
The site is easy to find from the aiport and well-placed for all the major parks - they're only 15 to 20 minutes away and there was loads of space to park too.
The site is also right next door to a shopping outlet mall.
All in all, it was excellent - the staff were helpful and courteous too and I really don't think we could have booked a better place - we really recommend it!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the pool!

Just spent 2 weeks staying at this resort on a room only basis. The room was in block 2 and was very spacious for a family of 4 with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen. All fully equipped to a good standard. There are few onside amenities but that suits the type of holiday you have in Florida, you really only need a place to rest and the beds were extremely comfortable. The main pool was nice and always had enough sunbeds. The onsite shop and bar are useful but expensive. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 2 weeks at the Resort.

The Resort is extremely handy for Walt Disney World resorts, which was the main reason we chose it.
Rooms are big with great space for family of 5.

The Resort is split into several blocks all based around a couple of pools. We were in Block 5 in the upper floors facing away from the pool area. Whilst the main view was of a highway, we got to see the Magic Kingdom Fireworks display (from about 4 miles away) every night.
Room was clean on arrival with sufficient Towels etc.
The main Pool has the Pirate ship in the middle of it with a water slide going through it. Looks very impressive, but kids soon get bored of the slide, and the rest of the ship acts as the pool room, so kids cant play on it. Saying that, Pool was clean and had attendant actively controlling kids use of the slide. The poolside bar does beer and snacks. pretty average.

The Resort advertises a "shuttle service" to some of the resorts, which is in fact a strict two departures per day to Disney, and two returns. These have to be booked through the Concierge the night before, and thats still not a guarantee that you will get a seat. If you fail to book, or miss the return journey (WDW Out 0850 or 1100 returning 1820 or 2230) , you are on your own. It also forces you to stay at the parks for the whole day, which in August with the 95+ temperatures, this can be exhausting, and expensive. I'd recommend The resort consider a more regular Hourly small shuttle service outside of these times, but it all comes down to cost.
Big mention to "Frederick" , one of the shuttle drivers, who does is best to keep everyone happy and entertained

We gave up on the Shuttle after Day 2, and used the Car, which proved much more sensible way of planning your day despite the 15.00 a day car parking charge in Disney.

Concierge:
Very helpful staff, who had good recommendations of eating out

Resort Facilities:
Didn't try the Spa, so cant comment
Convenience Store is incredibly expensive. Use it only as a last resort. If you don't mind a 20 minute walk or have a car, there is a massive Wal-Mart on the Main road (SR-535). Just turn left onto main road, and its 2nd main junction on the right. Well worth the trip, and its 24/7 so you dont have to disrupt your plans for the day. Convenience store also gas a Pizza Hut takeaway in it. would recommend using the many fliers that get posted under your door instead.

Frankie Farrels - Olde Irishe Pubbe and Grille - I've seen more atmosphere on a British Rail drinks trolley, than in this place. Eat there only once, and the food was just rubbish. Good selection of Beers though.

Room service:
It was only when we checked in that we realised that daily cleaning/towel change was not included in upfront costs. bit peeved by that, but thats the way it is.
Apartment has a big american washer/tumble dryer, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven
small amounts of cleaning materials to see you through the first couple of days.
On checkout we did have to get a cleaning charge removed. Looked like it had been charged to the wrong room, so do check.

Summary:
Good basic Hotel facilities, close to Disney, and easily accessible to other parks. Family really enjoyed the pool, and people around the resort are courteous and friendly.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the LBV resort village and spa (not to be confused with hotels of a similar name). We could not fault the accommodation, the staff, the location or facilities. It is incredibly easy to find, just 2 turns from the airport and about 20 mins if you follow the hotels directions. It's also so easy to find all of the Disney/Seaworld/I drive locations from as well.
Where to start? Check in was completed in a minute or so, we were aware of the resort fee, both the hotels site and all travel agents that we looked through advised of it, so it shouldn't be shock when you get there. Blossom who checked us in was very helpful, there was no hard sell for tickets and they even offer a phone/sat nav, if you need it or we're worried about roaming charges. The apartment was great, 3 bed, 2 bath. 3601 in building 3, plenty of parking available, regardless of the time we returned. We could see the Magic Kingdom fireworks in the distance from the right side of the balcony or the master bedroom. The waste disposal stopped working and guest services had someone up to fix it within 15 minutes, but would have been happy to arrange another time to suit us. We chose not to have the room serviced, finding that it was easy enough to keep clean & tidy. For us, not having maid service worked well, we stayed at the parks until late most nights, so being woken by maid service would have been a pain. The apartment was fully stocked with enough toiletries and cleaning stuff to keep us going until we could stock up.
We used the store in building 1 on the first night, which is expensive, but you are paying for convenience, it's handy to stock up on the initial basics though. The pool was great, we went at various times and never had a problem finding a bed, the staff both there and elsewhere were always friendly and helpful.
For those who state the rooms are dated, we did not find this, they are decorated with a tropical theme, some curtains and the table had a pineapple motif. This may not be to everyone's taste, but everything was spotlessly clean and well presented.
I could not recommend this place high enough. Hope this helps and please feel free to message with any other questions you may have.

Room Tip: Building 3 was perfect, we never had to wait for a lift. It's close to shuttle pick up, buildi...
